  • This study was undertaken for identifying ways to positively resolve problems associated with perceived overqualification from the perspective of job crafting, which is highlighted as a social issue in the labor market. We hypothesized the mediating role of job crafting in order to uncover the questions regarding when and how perceived overqualification associates with an employee's organizational commitment. Autoregressive cross-lagged models were applied to the longitudinal data gathered from 263 full-time employees across 3 waves over 9 months. Our results demonstrate positive and significant cross-lagged effect of perceived overqualification on job crafting and organizational commitment. However, the cross-lagged effect of job crafting on perceived overqualification was found to be insignificant, but was significant for organizational commitment. There were no other indications of reverse causation effects. Our data indicates that job crafting longitudinally mediates the relation between perceived overqualification and organizational commitment. These findings offer a meaningful implication that employees who perceive themselves to be overqualified should be given an opportunity to craft their own jobs.

  • There are few factors like a due date observance of the customer's order, reducing the manufacturing lead time, and minimizing the inventory investment to successfully run the manufacturing system. It is difficult for corporation and a person concerned to be offered indicators to achieve few factors mentioned above from complex manufacturing systems having much fluctuations. Simplified-DBR based on TOC(Theory of Constraints) is a management paradigm which can offer indicators to effectively face with fluctuating market's needs when market's demand is smaller than a capacity of manufacturing system. This paper is offering a core indicator and management model which is needed to successfully run the manufacturing system for corporation and a person concerned who have short experience and knowledge and newly construct Sinplified-DBR manufacturing system. Thus, this paper provides a systemic guidance in the offered model through the simulation.

  • This study focused on retraining programs for cuisiniers and drawing attention to the necessity of retraining and the new method of retraining for cuisiniers as a professional in a knowledge based society. Case study review and interviews followed by thorough review of related literatures were taken place to give suggestions and comments for the improvement of job performance enhance training for cuisiniers. Interviews were done with current participants and institutional trainers in March, 2008. Result from the interviews showed that retraining was really necessary. It was concluded that various retraining programs organized and developed by an association could be the solution. Methods of retraining can take formats of distance learning, classroom learning, and blended learning. However, working condition for most cuisiniers at present would allow them to squeeze some time off to attend higher education and most restaurant companies are not big enough to offer systematic job training on site or not stable enough to arrange replacement workers. It is therefore suggested to adopt a blended learning method and further study on this subject is highly recommended.

  • Human experts have the various own knowledges to be applied in specialized domains. The fact that knowledge itself becomes more critical in the context of textile knowledge with rapid development of new fibers, automated equipments, processes and applications. Diversity of worsted spun yarns, lack of human expertise, and inconsistency among manually generated process plans in consequency of adjustment machine parameters owing to change up raw materials frequently increase the necessity of developing computer aided process planning(CAPP) systems for spinning process. Expert systems offer one of techniques to develop CAPP systems which would behave in a knowledgeable manner. Expert systems are the problem-solving computer program that can reach a level of performance comparable to that of a human expert in some specialized problem domain. This paper is described as job justification module. The job justification module performs to consult with users on which worsted spun yarn manufacturing process planning under the various factors, e.g., raw materials, machine parameters and required yarn counts. Also, the developed module informs the various knowledges relevant process planning. The job justification module offers the control parameters at each process and includes the various standard process plans as database. These knowledges are generated by facts and rules within rule bases.
