  • In this paper a second-order iterative learning control algorithm with feedback is proposed for the trajectory-tracking control of nonlinear dynamic systems with unidentified parameters. In contrast to other known methods, the proposed teaming control scheme utilize more than one past error history contained in the trajectories generated at prior iterations, and a feedback term is added in the learning control scheme for the enhancement of convergence speed and robustness to disturbances or system parameter variations. The convergence proof of the proposed algorithm is given in detail, and the sufficient condition for the convergence of the algorithm is provided. We also discuss the convergence performance of the algorithm when the initial condition at the beginning of each iteration differs from the previous value of the initial condition. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is shown by computer simulation result. It is shown that, by adding a feedback term in teaming control algorithm, convergence speed, robustness to disturbances and robustness to unmatched initial conditions can be improved.

  • In this paper, an iterative learning control algorithm for unknown linear discrete systems is proposed by employing a parameter estimator together with an inverse system model. Regardless of initial error and inherent parameter uncertainty, a good tracking control performance is obtained using the proposed learning control algorithm characterized by recursive operations. A sufficient condition for convergency is provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. To investigate the performance of the algorithm a series of simulations and experiments were performed for the tracking control of a servo motor.

  • There are recently some advances in solving numerically topology optimization problems for large-scaled trusses based on ground structure approach. A disadvantage of this approach is that the final design usually includes many bars, which is difficult to be produced in practice. One of efficient tools is a so-called filter scheme for the ground structure to reduce this difficulty and determine several distinct bars. In detail, this technique is valuable for practical uses because unnecessary bars are filtered out from the ground structure to obtain a well-defined structure during the topology optimization process, while it still guarantees the global equilibrium condition. This process, however, leads to a singular system of equilibrium equations. In this case, the minimization of least squares with Tikhonov regularization is adopted. In this paper, a proposed algorithm in controlling optimal Tikhonov parameter is considered in combination with the filter scheme due to its crucial role in obtaining solution to remove numerical singularity and saving computational time by using sparse matrix, which means that the discrete optimal topology solutions depend on choosing the Tikhonov parameter efficiently. Several numerical examples are investigated to demonstrate the efficiency of the filter parameter control algorithm in terms of the large-scaled optimal topology designs.

  • We proposed a method of second-order iterative learning control with feedback, which shows an enhancement of convergence speed and robustness to the disturbances in our previous study. In this paper, we show that the proposed second-order iterative learning control algorithm with feedback is more effective and has better convergence performance than the algorithm without feedback in the case of the existence of initial condition errors. And the convergence woof of the proposed algorithm in the case of the existence of initial condition error is given in detail, and the effectiveness of the Proposed algorithm is shown by simulation results.

  • An iterative learning contol method is presented for a class of linear periodic systems, in which a parameter estimator of the system together with an inverse system model is utilized to generate the control signal at each iteration. A convergence proof is given and two numerical examples are illustrated to show the validities of the algorithm. In particular, it is shown that the method is useful for the continuous path control of robot manipulators.

  • This paper presents the replication of a desired vibration response by iterative learning control (ILC) system for a vibration motion replication actuator. The vibration motion replication actuator has parameter uncertainties including system nonlinearity and joint nonlinearity. Vehicle manufacturers worldwide are increasingly relying on road simulation facilities that put simulated loads and stresses on vehicles and subassemblies in order to reduce development time. Road simulation algorithm is the key point of developing road simulation system. With the rapid progress of digital signal processing technology, more complex control algorithms including iterative learning control can be utilized. In this paper, ILC algorithm was utilized to produce simultaneously the six channels of desired responses using the Stewart platform composed of six linear electro-magnetic actuators with Halbach magnet array. The convergence rate and accuracy showed reasonable results to meet the requirement. It shows that the algorithm is acceptable to replicate multi-channel vibration responses.

  • We present an AILC(Adaptive Iterative Learning Control) scheme and a sufficient condition for system parameter identification for uncertain robotic systems that perform the same tasks repetitively. It is guaranteed that the joint velocity and position asymptotically converge to the reference joint velocity and position, respectively. In addition, it is proved that a sufficient condition for parameter identification is the PE(Persistent Excitation) condition on the regressor matrix evaluated at the reference trajectory during the operation period. Since the regressor matrix on the reference trajectory can be easily computed prior to the real robot operation, the proposed algorithm provides a useful method to verify whether the parameter error converges to zero or not.
