  • In this paper, an iterative learning control method is applied to suppress the vibration of a 2-mass system which has a flexible coupling between a load an a motor. More specifically, conditions for the load speed without vibration are derived based on the steady-state condition. And the desired motor position trajectory is synthesized based on the relation between the load and motor speed. Finally, a PD-type learning iterative control law is applied for the desired motor position trajectory. Since the learning law applied for the desired trajectory guarantees the perfect tracking performance, the resulting load speed shows no vibration. In order to handle the initial position error, the PD-type learning law is changed to PID-type and a weight function is added to suppress the residual vibration caused by the initial error. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed learning method.

  • In this paper, we propose a fuzzy iterative learning controller(FILC). It can control fully unknown dynamic plants through iterative learning. To design learning controllers based on the steepest descent method, it is one of the difficult problems to identify the change of plant output with respect to the change of control input(.part.e/.part.u). To solve this problem, we propose a method as follows: first, calculate .part.e/.part.u using a similarity measure and information in consecutive time steps, then adjust the fuzzy logic controller(FLC) using the sign of .part.e/.part..u. As learning process is iterated, the value of .part.e/.part.u is reinforced. Proposed FILC has the simple architecture compared with previous other controllers. Computer simulations for an inverted pendulum system were conducted to verify the performance of the proposed FILC.

  • This paper introduces a new approach to analysis of error convergence for a class of iterative learning control systems. First, a nonlinear plant is represented using a Takagi-Sugeno(T-S) fuzzy model. Then each iterative learning controller is designed for each linear plant in the T-S fuzzy model. From the view point of two-dimensional(2-D) system theory, we transform the proposed learning systems to a 2-D error equation, which is also established in the form of T-S fuzzy model. We analysis the error convergence in the sense of induced 2 L -norm, where the effects of disturbances and initial conditions on 2-D error are considered. The iterative learning controller design problem to guarantee the error convergence can be reduced to linear matrix inequality problems. In comparison with others, our learning algorithm ...

  • We propose a robust tuning method of the quadratic criterion based iterative learning control(Q-ILC) algorithm for discrete-time linear batch system. First, we establish the frequency domain representation for batch systems. Next, a robust convergence condition is derived in the frequency domain. Based on this condition, we propose to optimize the weighting matrices such that the upper bound of the robustness measure is minimized. Through numerical simulation, it is shown that the designed learning filter restores robustness under significant model uncertainty.

  • Iterative learning control is an approach to improve the transient response of systems that operate repetitively over a fixed time interval. It is useful for the system where the system output follows the different type input, in case of design or modeling uncertainty In this paper, we introduce the concept of iterative learning control and then apply the learning control algorithm for multi-motor system for performance Improvement.

  • In this paper, we present an iterative learning method of compensating for position sensor error. The previously known compensation algrithms need a special perfect position sensor or a priori information about error sources, while ours does not. To our best knowledge, any iterative learning approach has not been taken for sensor error compensation. Furthermore, our iterative learning algorithm does not have the drawbacks of the existing iterative learning control theories. To be more specific, our algorithm learns a uncertain function inself rather than its special time-trajectory and does not request the derivatives of measurement signals. Moreover, it does not require the learning system to start with the same initial condition for all iterations. To illuminate the generality and practical use of our algorithm, we give the rigorous proof for its convergence and some experimental results.

  • In this paper, we consider an iterative learning control system(ILCS) consisting of an iterative learning controller, a feedback controller and a controlled plant in the frequency domain. At first, we review the convergence of ILCS. And we give some design guidelines of the ILCS using a nominal model of the plant. Then we present the structured and the unstructured uncertainty bound which guarantees the convergence of the designed iterative learning controller. In particular, we analyze the relationship between the convergence and the magnitude and phase uncertainties. In order to show the usefulness of the proposed analysis and design guidelines, we present some simulation examples. (author). 13 refs., 5 figs.

  • This paper presents a learning controller for repetitive gait control of biped walking robot. We propose the iterative learning control algorithm which can learn periodic nonlinear load change ocuured according to the walking period through the iterative learning, not calculating the complex dynamics of walking robot. The learning control scheme consists of a feedforward learning rule and linear feedback control input for stabilization of learning system. The feasibility of learning control to biped robotic motion is shown via dynamic simulation with 12-DOF biped walking robot.

The iterative teaming controller design problem to guarantee the error convergence can be reduced to the linear matrix inequality problem. This method provides a systematic design procedure for iterative teaming controller. A simulation example is given to illustrate the validity of the proposed method.
