Drug eruption is a relatively commin dermatological disorder and may cause significant problems. The treatment is to stop using a drug that may cuase a drug eruption. In some cases, steroids and antihistamines can be used supportively. According to some reports, Onchungeum(溫淸飮) has steroid-like effects and antihistaminic effects. We administered Onchungeum(溫淸飮) a patient with severe itching because of a drug eruption. After administration of Onchungeum(溫淸飮), itching decreased to much degrees. It can be suggested that Onchungeum(溫淸飮) can be used to treat symptoms of allergic skin disease like a drug eruption.

Backgrounds : Pompholyx is a distinctive reaction pattern presenting as symmetric vesicular hand and foot dermatitis. Other than acute symptoms like itching and vesicles, chronic changes with scaling, fissure and pain may follow. As patients are treated by steroid for a long period, it tends to present side effects after quitting steroid treatment. Objectives : This study was carried out to investigate the effect of carbon arc lamp therapy and oriental medical therapy that venesection therapy, ointments and herbal medicine on chronic plantar pompholyx including steroids side effects. Methods : We treated one case of chronic plantar pompholyx which had continued about 10 years, including steroids side effects with venesection therapy, carbon arc lamp therapy, ointments and herbal medicine. To evaluate the results of this treatment, we categorized symptoms into six items which are vesicles, itching, fissures, pain, erosions and scales. Results : Except mild itching, vesicles and scales in a small area, all the symptoms were subsided. Conclusions : It is considered that various kinds of oriental medical therapy including carbon arc lamp therapy could replace steroid therapy which has many side effects.

Objectives : Molluscum Contagiosum is a contagious disease most often seen in children. It is caused by molluscum contagiosum virus(MCV-1,2). The purpose of this study is to report three cases of Molluscum Contagiosum children treated by oriental medicine. Methods : The subjects are in regard to children diagnosed as Molluscum Contagiosum. We treated three children with herbal medicine(Gwakhyangjeonggisangamibang). Results : After treatment, the symptoms(papule on the whole body and pruritus) of Molluscum Contagiosum were improved. Two children of them were cured completely and the one child still appealed a little itching. But, the one child had atopic dermatitis, and suffered from itching primarily, so after treatment the itching sign decreased rather than before an attack of Molluscum Contagiosum. Conclusions : This study shows that oriental medicine can be an effective treatment for Molluscum Contagiosum. And the further study is needed with more cases and longer duration.

Objective : This study describes a case of urticarial drug eruption assumed to be caused by non-steroidal anti- inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) treated with oriental medicine and acupuncture. Methods : We studied the case of 20-years-old drug eruption patient. The patient complained of urticaria, angioedema, itching and burning sensation after taking NSAIDs. The indications for NSAIDs prescribed were common cold symptom and sore throat. For diagnosis, blood test and urinalysis were done. For treatment, acupuncture and herbal-medicine treatment were applied. Results : The patient of this report were examined for 13 days. The radiological finding was within normal limits. The WBC, neutrophil, lymphocyte and eosinophil level normalized during admission. After 3 days, itching and wheal reaction of whole body disappeared except facial symptom. The angioedema, itching and wheal reaction in the face was almost improved in the 4th day after discharge. Conclusions : We may expect that the oriental medical therapy improves the urticarial drug eruption caused by NSAIDs.

Objetives : The purpose of this study is to report the effect of Oryeong-san on adult whole-body atopic dermatitis. Methods : We treated a 21-year-old male patient who have adult whole-body atopic dermatitis by Korean medicine. This treatment was enforced from 2019.5.25 to 2019.6.29. And we have confirmed the improvement of itching, rashes and oozing. We recorded photos that includes change of symptoms. Results : After the treatments was done, the grade of VAS and SCORAD was decreased. The VAS grade was decreased from grade 8 to grade 2. The SCORAD score was decreased from 72.1 to 52.1. And itching, rashes, oozing were clearly decreased. Conclusions : Oryeong-san has effect on decreasing itching, rashes and oozing. Also, sleeping time reduced due to itchness was normalized. Thus, It is able that Oryeong-san works on skin desease like atopic dermatitis.

We observed and treated a 19 year-old female who had atopic dermatitis. Even though she had been treated with western medicine, she still complained of severe itching, erythema, lichenification, scaling, dryness, oozing and insomnia especially on her face and neck. We treated her with Sasang Constitutional Therapies(Kupoong-san, Teumchoui-tang, Kalkunsungki-tang), apcupuncture, herbal irrigation and moisture emulsion. Having been treated for 24 days in hospital admitted, her symptoms were reduced and changed from severe to mild grade in SCORAD(SCORing Atopic Dermatitis)

An epidemiological study was undertaken to estimate the prevalence of Enterobius vermicularis infection among the primary (and infant) school schildren in Ysngyang-gun, Kyongsangbuk-do. During the period from 2 to 14 December 1983, a total of 2,227 school children in 13 schools were examined one time by means of scotch-tape anal swab technique with a simple questionaire study on perianal itching, enuresis and school record. The results are as follows: 1. The overall egg Positive rate was 64.1% and the rate ranged from 46.6 to 86.7% by schools. 2. The egg positive rates of boys and twirls were 60.5 and 68.0% respectively and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.005). 3. There was noted a tendency of decrease in prevalence by increase of the age of children. 4. It was revealed that perianal itching and school record were significantly correlated with E. vermicularis infection (P<0.05) while not in case of enuresis (P>0.1).

Allergic conjunctivitis is frequent 90% of allergic reaction of eyes. It is difficult to know the cause, so it is impossible to keep away from the antigens. The purpose of the treatment is just subsiding the symptoms without side effects. We experienced one case of Allergic conjunctivitis treated with oriental medical treatment, acupuncture and herbal medication. 27 year-old male patient had diagnosed Allergic conjunctivitis by western medical doctor. He suffered from eye itching, so he couldn't sleep well. After treatment his itching was subsided and he could sleep well. Therefore, oriental medical treatments could be safe and effective methods.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report the effectiveness of Sihochunggan-tang gagambang in two patients with erythema multiforme which ocurred repeatedly in stress condition.Methods: This case study was conducted in two erythema multiforme(EM) patients who have visited Korean Medicine Clinic. All two patients were treated with Sihochunggan-tang gagambang and acupuncture. VAS(Visual Analogue Scale) score was used to check the subjective change of skin symptoms and itching sense.Results & Conclusions: The VAS score were decreased compared to the initial visit in all two patients in our study. And most skin symptoms and itching sense of two patients were improved. As a result of examining VAS scores and photographs, Sihochunggan-tang gagambang can be effective on EM in two cases in our study.

Objectives : Pityriasis rosea is a rash that occurs most commonly in people between the ages of 10 and 43, but may occur at any age. It is common disease but I was haven't meet any case by oriental medical treatment. Methods : We experienced one case of Pityriasis rosea treated with oriental medical treatment, acupuncture and herbal medication. Results : The patient suffer from a large, scaly, pink patch on the chest and back and arm and leg. He have very terrible itching sign. After treatment his itching was subsided and large, scaly, pink patch was disappear. Conclusions: Oriental medical treatment could be safe and effective method in pityriasis rasea
