Effects of N & P Treatment Based on Liquid Organic Materials for Capacitive Deionization(CDI) (축전식 탈염 공정의 액상 유기물에 따른 질소(N) 및 인(P) 처리 특성)

  • Organic carbons such as methanol, ethanol, iso-propanol, methoxy ethanol, glucose are added(1, 2, 3%) in the 2000 ppm $NH_3$ and $H_3PO_4$. As vol.%. cyclic voltammetry measurement of the capacity with the addition of organic carbon, the results of $NH_3$ + 3 vol.% Methanol Addition, $H_3PO_4$ + 2 vol.% iso-propanol addition of the increase in capacity was observed. Applying to the CDI Module cell with an addiction of organic carbon is confirm that remove $NH_4$-N and $PO_4$-P in sewage. Namely, the removal efficiency of $NH_3$ was increase of 16.4% during adsorption, 30.4% during desorption and the removal efficiency of $H_3PO_4$ was increase of 63% during adsorption, 54.7% during desorption. Therefore, the result of this research is confirm that effect of the N, P removal and considered that reduction of the operating costs without removing the organic matter in the influent wastewater.

The Effect of the Crystalline Phase of Zirconia for the Dehydration of Iso-propanol (이소프로판올의 탈수반응에서 지르코니아 촉매의 결정상에 따른 영향)

  • Zirconium hydroxide was synthesized by varying the aging time of the zirconyl chloride octahydrate at $100^{\circ}C$ in aqueous solution and the resulting hydroxides were calcined at $700^{\circ}C$ for 6 h to obtain the crystalline $ZrO_2$. The materials used in this study were characterized by differential thermal analysis (DTA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), $N_2$-sorption, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), $NH_3$ temperature-programmed desorption ($NH_3$-TPD), $CO_2$-TPD and iso-propanol TPD analyses to correlate with catalytic activity for the dehydration of iso-propanol. The pure tetragonal $ZrO_2$ phase was obtained after 24 h aging of zirconium hydroxide and successive calcination at $700^{\circ}C$. The increase of aging time showed the production of smaller particle size $ZrO_2$ resulting that the higher specific surface area and total pore volume. $NH_3$-TPD results revealed that the relative acidity of the catalysts increased along with the increase of aging time. On the other hand, the results of $CO_2$-TPD showed the reverse trend of $NH_3$-TPD results. The best catalytic activity for the dehydration of iso-propanol to propylene was shown over $ZrO_2$ catalyst aged for 168 h which had the highest $S_{BET}$ ($178\;m^2\;g^{-1}$). The catalytic activity could be correlated with high surface area, relative acidity and easy desorption of iso-propanol.

Impurities formed from ethanol fermentation process among different materials and it′s effective separation in large scale (대규모의 주정발효 과정에서 생성된 불순물과 그 효율적 분리)

  • This study to elucidate concentrations of impurities such as methanol and fusel oil formed during fermentation process among the different materials and has been applied technical seperation for processing improvement by continuous distillation of super-allospas type. Methanol was formed high concentrations of cutting dried sweet potato and tapioca in order among the different materials during fermentation process. n-Propanol oil was formed high concentration of rice, cutting dried sweet potato, corn, naked barley and tapioca in order among the those materials. I-Buthanol showed high concentration of tapioca, corn, rice, cutting dried sweet potato and naked barley in order and isoamyl-alcohol showed high concentration of tapioca, rice, cutting dried sweet potato, corn and naked barley in order. Using the continuous distillation of super-allospas type, the following are collection ratios of n-propanol, iso-butanol, n-butanol and iso-amylalcohol: 37.9%, 28.6%, 37.4%, and 56.1% when 78.25% (v/v), 68.54% (viv), 50.0% (viv), and 50.0% (v/v) alcohol are used, respectively. Fusel oil and bad alcohol put into the recovery column and then seperated directly by side cut of fusel oil partially from plate of tower bottom after concentration again. Extra impurities seperated by fusel oil seperator when 20 % (v/v) alcohol adjusted with water.

  • Several interesting aromas could be produced from the cultures of Saccharomyces cerevisiae depending on the amino acids used as sole nitrogen source. The yeast produced a fusel oil odor in leucine-medium, an aroma of traditional Korean rice wine in aspartic acid-medium and a floral note in phenylalanine-medium, respectively, Ethanol, iso-amyl alcohol, iso-butanol and n-propanol were found as major volatile con stituents in all the above three cultures. In addition to these compounds, phenethyl alcohol was present as major volatiles both in the aroma concentrates of the phenyl alanine and aspartic acid cultures, and phenethyl acetate only in the phenylalanine culture.

Alcohol Fermentation Characteristics of Tapioca Using Raw Starch Enzyme (생전분 분해효소를 이용한 타피오카의 알콜발효 특성)

  • The optimum conditions of the alcohol fermentation with raw tapioca by simultaneous saccharification and alcohol fermentation (SSAF) were studied using raw starch enzyme. The optimum conditions for maximum alcohol production were 0.5% (w/w) of enzyme content, 250% (v/w) of added water content and 96 hr of fermentation time. The alcohol and reducing sugar contents were 11.7% and 306 mg% after 96 hr fermentation, respectively. During the fermentation pH decreased from 6.2 to 4.2 and total acidity increased from 0.11 to 0.43. Alcohol components were detected such as ethanol, methanol, iso-propanol, n-propylalcohol and iso-butylalcohol, besides acetaldehyde. We could construct raw starch fermentation conditions which was 250% (v/w) of added water content and 0.5% (w/w) of enzyme content. However, yield of raw starch alcohol fermentation was lower than that of steaming alcohol fermentation.

  • In this study, aluminum sec-butoxide, aluminum iso-propoxide were mixed with alcohol such as, secbutanol, iso-propanol. And then Acetyl Acetone, water were added to make Acetyl bond and OH bond. After that, Polymeric alumina sol was synthesized from catalysis reaction with strong acid typically HCl. These alumina soil was dried at 8$0^{\circ}C$~9$0^{\circ}C$ to have a optmum viscosty for spinning, spinned at spinner, and then sintered to make polycrystalline alumina fiber.

  • AMX is one of extremely high mutagenic compound produced from the reaction of the chlorine and the organic compound during the disinfection of tap water. In this paper, the chemical derivatization of MX with 2% sulfuric acid-methanol, iso-propanol, sec-butanol and n-butanol derivatives for the GC/MS analysis were tested or compared. Limit of detection for the EI and NCI mode were 25 pg and 1.25 pg, respectively. The good linear calibration curve was obtained the range of 25~2500 pg by EI and NCI

복분자주의 품질 비교

  • 생약재로 사용되고 있는 복분자를 식품가공소재로 활용하고자 최적 추출조건에서 얻은 추출물로 복분자 리큐르를 제조하여 시판되고 있는 복분자주(A, B, C)와 성분을 비교하였다. 그 결과, 알콜함량은 복분자 리큐르와 B 제품이 15.6%로 나타났으며 A와 C 제품은 각각 13.2%와 14.0%로 분석되었다. 복분자 리큐르의 당도와 가용성 고형분 함량은 12.1 。 Brix와 6.18%로 B 제품과 유사하였으며 A 제품은 각각 18.2 。Brix와 14.93%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 총 페놀성 화합물은 143.77mg%인 B 제품이 가장 높게 분석되었으며 복분자 리큐르는 93.03mg%로 나타났고 전자공여능은 복분자 리큐르가 77%로 다른 제품(A, B, C)보다 가장 높게 분석되었다. 유리당 분석에서 복분자 리큐르와 A 제품은 glucose가 가장 높게 분석되었으며 fructose함량은 A와 B제품이 높게 나타났으며 galactose는 41.5mg%로 B 제품에서만 분석되었다. 알콜성분 비교 분석결과, acetaldehyde은 A 제품을 제외한 모든 복분자주에서 나타났으며 methanol은 C 제품이 47.25ppm으로 가장 낮게 분석되었고 iso-propanol은 복분자 리큐르와 B 제품만 나타났으며 n-propanol은 복분자 리큐르에서만 검출되었고 iso-amylalcohol은 복분자 리큐르를 제외한 A, B 및 C제품에서 모두 분석되었다. 이상과 같은 차이는 원료, 주류의 제조방법에 따른 것으로 나타났다.

Preparation and Sintering Behavior of Monodispersed Alumina-Zirconia Fine Powders (단분산 $Al_2O_3-ZrO_2$ 복합분말의 합성과 소결특성)

  • Monodispersed alumina-zirconia fine powders were prepared by controlled hydrolysis of alkoxides. These powders and the sintered bodies were characterized. Aluminium alkoxide and zirconium alkoxide were dissolved into complex solvent with butanol and n-propanol, and by acetonitrile added hydrolytic solution, hydrolysis rate was controlled. The oil, as a dispersant, was added in hydrolytic solution, and then prepared powders were nano-sized and well-monodispersed. In the case of hydroxypropyl celluose (HPC) as a dispersant, it was added in complex solution with butanol and iso-propanol, sub-micrometer sized and well-monodispersed powders could be prepared. The value of relative density (R.D.) and tetragonal phase fraction of zirconia in the sintered body made by nano-meter sized powders were respectively higher than those in the case of sub-micrometer sized one.

Analysis of Volatile Components in Korean Rice Wine by the Addition of Yulmoo (탁주 제조 시 율무 첨가에 따른 휘발성 성분의 분석)

  • In order to use nutraceutical components in Yulmoo (Coix lachryma-jobi L. var. ma-yuen Stapf), the acceptability of Yulmoo for Takju (Korean rice wine) was examined in terms of the production of volatile components. When Yulmoo was added to the Takju made by commercial koji as a substitute of starch at 0 (rice 100%), 15, 30, 60, and 100%, the ethanol content slightly increased to 13.6, 15.2, 15.2, 14.1, and 13.8%, the Production of isobutanol and iso-imyl alcohol increased as the amount of Yulmoo increased. While the use of Yulmoo to the Takju as the nuruk (Korean traditional koji), inoculated with Aspergillus kawachii (AK) and Rhizopu japonicus (RJ), decreased the contents of n-propanol, iso-butanol, and iso-amyl alcohol as well as the contents of ethanol from 14.3% to 11.2 [AK], 7.5 [RJ], and 10.4% [AK + RJ]. The Yulmoo nuruk in Takju increased the production of acetaldehyde and ethyl acetate indicating the negative effect in the organoleptic evaluation. It was determined that the addition of Yulmoo as a starch source or as nuruk has a critical effect on the production of fusel oils and other volatile compounds in Takju fermentation.
