Discovering Temporal Relation Considering the Weight of Events in Multidimensional Stream Data Environment (다차원 스트림 데이터 환경에서 이벤트 가중치를 고려한 시간 관계 탐사)

  • An event means a flow which has a time attribute such as a symptom of patient. Stream data collected by sensors can be summarized as an interval event which has a time interval between the start-time point and the end-time point in multiple stream data environment. Most of temporal mining techniques have considered only the frequent events. However, these approaches may ignore the infrequent event even if it is important. In this paper, we propose a new temporal data mining that can find association rules for the significant temporal relation based on interval events in multidimensional stream data environment. Our method considers the weight of events and stream data on the sensing time point of abnormal events. And we can discover association rules on the significant temporal relation regardless of the occurrence frequency of events. The experimental analysis has shown that our method provide more useful knowledge than other conventional methods.

  • In this paper, an interval type-2 fuzzy logic system is designed and compared with a type-1 fuzzy logic system. To compare performance of a type-1 fuzzy logic system with the type-2 fuzzy logic system, we apply type-1 fuzzy logic system and type-2 system to modeling the noised data. Membership function of interval type-2 fuzzy logic system is designed consequents of rules including uncertainty. For general type-2 fuzzy logic system computational complexity is severe. On the other hand, theoretic and arithmetic computations for interval type-2 fuzzy logic systems are very simple.

A Study on the Safety Frame Interval of Pipe Houses in Kyungpook Region (경북지방 파이프하우스의 안전골조간격에 관한 연구)

  • As the pipe houses were constructed by imitation and routine without a structural design by now, they were often destructed by a strong wind or a heavy snowfall. The purpose of this study was to provide the basic data for the safety structural design of the pipe houses in Kyungpook region to prevent meteorological disaster. It was shown that the change of frame interval according to the safety factor under the wind load was similar that under the snow load. But the safety frame interval under the snow load was approximately 0.5-0.6m greater than that under the wind load for equal safety factor. Therefore, it seemed that the maximum safety frame interval was to be decided by the snow load. The frame of the pipe houses in Seungju region was structurally stable under the design snow load in recurrence intervals of 8-15years, but was unstable in Kolyong region.

A Scheduling Algorithm Using the Interval Graph (구간 그래프를 이용한 스케쥴링 알고리듬)

  • In this paper, we present a novel scheduling algorithm using the weighted interval graph. An interval graph is constructed, where an interval is a time frame of each operation. And for each operation type, we look for the maximum clique of the interval graph: the number of nodes of the maximum clique represents the number of operation that are executed concurrently. In order to minimize resource cost. we select the operation type to reduce the number of nodes of a maximum clique. For the selected operation type, an operation selected by selection rule is moved to decrease the number of nodes of a maximum clique. A selected operation among unscheduled operations is moved repeatly and assigned to a control step consequently. The proposed algorithm is applied to the pipeline and the nonpipeline data path synthesis. The experiment for examples shows the efficiency of the proposed scheduling algorithm.

  • As a case study on determining the replacement interval for the CMB contactor, we analyzed a field failure data during 59 months and through the simulation reliability is analyzed. As a result of analyzing the reliability we estimated parameters and analyzed distribution characteristics. Ultimately using the estimated results and applying the Age Replacement Policy considered the cost information, CMB contactor's replacement interval is determined. Through the comparison, analysis between the replacement interval and manufacturing company's, the necessity of replacement interval that is reflected in our operation circumstances is examined.

  • The Possibilistic C-means(PCM) was proposed to overcome some of the drawbacks associated with the Fuzzy C-means(FCM) such as improved performance for noise data. However, PCM possesses some drawbacks such as sensitivity in initial parameter values and to patterns that have relatively short distances between the prototypes. To overcome these drawbacks, we propose an interval type 2 fuzzy approach to PCM by considering uncertainty in the fuzzy parameter m in the PCM algorithm.

Evaluating the effect of the size of brand consideration set upon the Gutenberg′s monopolistic price interval (고려상표군 크기에 따른 구텐베르그의 가격독점영역에 관한 연구)

  • This study addressed an ill-understood issue of a price response model and a monopolistic price interval of fashion goods. The concept of monopolistic price interval introduced by Gutenberg has been rarely applied to the fashion goods, which is known as price sensitive goods. Thus, this study examined the price insensitive zone of the blue jean. The data of 268 respondents were analyzed using Choice-based Conjoint (CBC) analysis and t-test. Considering brand consideration set as a price determinant, we found the presence of monopolistic price interval of the jean. The results obtained from the CBC analysis showed that the bigger the size of brand consideration set, the shorter the monopolistic interval. This implied that the consumer who had a small brand consideration set was more likely to have a longer monopolistic price interval than the one who had a large brand consideration set, since the consumer with a small consideration set tended to value brand itself more than price. Although significant monopolistic price intervals were shown only for the three jean brands out of the seven, to reduce the size of brand consideration set and to increase brand loyalty were found important in maximizing firms'financial profits.

Interval Estimation of Population Proportion in a Double Sampling Scheme (이중표본에서 모비율의 구간추정)

  • The double sampling scheme is effective in reducing the sampling cost. However, the doubly sampled data is contaminated by two types of error, namely false-positive and false-negative errors. These would make the statistical analysis more difficult, and it would require more sophisticate analysis tools. For instance, the Wald method for the interval estimation of a proportion would not work well. In fact, it is well known that the Wald confidence interval behaves very poorly in many sampling schemes. In this note, the property of the Wald interval is investigated in terms of the coverage probability and the expected width. An alternative confidence interval based on the Agresti-Coull's approach is recommended.

  • For the target tracking in cluttered environment using a bistatic sonar whose transmitter and receiver are separately positioned, it is necessary to use data association algorithm via applying a proper measurement modelling to the bistatic sonar. The measurements obtained from the interval of ownship's maneuver have an increased error due to uncertainty of the position of transmitter and receiver. Using the measurements from this interval results in poor target tracking performance. In this paper, an improved tracking performance for the proposed data association based multiple model algorithm is validated by a monte carlo simulation.

  • An ILRT Interval for a nuclear power plant in Korea was extended from once in five years to once in ten years. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate risk impact for ILRT interval extensions. In this paper, input data were generated for the reference plants, KSNP, using raw data such as meteorological data, population distribution data and source term data. And, using MACCS II code the risk impact assessment was performed based on the two methodologies of NUREG-1493 and NEI Interim Report. The risk impact derived from an ILRT interval extension was identified not to be significant. It is considered to apply this study and results to making an accident management plan and safety goal, and to the field of public acceptance.
