고해상도 컬러 영상 워핑의 실시간 구현을 위한 영상 캐시 알고리즘 (Image Cache Algorithm for Real-time Implementation of High-resolution Color Image Warping)

  • This paper presents a new image cache algorithm for real-time implementation of high-resolution color image warping. The cache memory is divided into four cache memory modules for simultaneous readout of four input image pixels in consideration of the color filter array (CFA) pattern of an image sensor and CFA image warping. In addition, a pipeline structure from the cache memory to an interpolator is shown to guarantee the generation of an output image pixel at each system clock cycle. The proposed image cache algorithm is applied to an FPGA-based real-time color image warping, and experimental results are presented to show the validity of the proposed method.

  • In this Paper, we propose an efficient de-interlacing algorithm using temporal and spatial domain information. In the proposed scheme, motion estimation is performed same parity fields, i.e., if current field is even field, reference fields are previous even field and forward even field. And then motion vector refinement is performed to improve the accuracy of motion vectors. In the interpolating step, we use median filter to reduce the interpolation error caused by incorrect motion vector. Simulations conducted for various video sequences have shown the efficiency of the proposed interpolator with significant improvement over previous methods in terms of both PSNR and perceived image quality.

공간 필터링에 근거한 시간축 내삽기 (Temporal interpolator based on spatial filtering)

  • In this paper, we propose a new temporal interpolation method based on spatial filtering. Compared with the conventional method, the proposed one may use a few adjacent frames and apply temporal lowpass filtering. To develop this method, we follow the basic approach of sampling rate conversion. Additionally, we use some assumption of video sequence : moving object has constant velocity rigid translational motion. From them, spatial filtering for temporal sampling rate conversion is described. This method has a lot of noise immunity on a motion vector and doesn't make a great difference from the original frame. The interpolated frame shows moderate change even there is a great time difference. This method has exactly same description of motion adaptive spatial filter which has an efficient temporal band-limiting characteristics. It imposes the possibility to make video sequence with good pictural quality.

  • In this paper, a low power, small area cyclic time-to-digital converter in All-Digital PLL for DVB-S2 application is presented. Coarse and fine TDC stages in the two-step TDC are shared to reduce the area and the current consumption maintaining the resolution since the area of the TDC is dominant in the ADPLL. It is implemented in a 0.13 ${\mu}m$ CMOS process with a die area of 0.12 $mm^2$. The power consumption is 2.4 mW at a 1.2 V supply voltage. Furthermore, the resolution and input frequency of the TDC are 5 ps and 25 MHz, respectively.

  • In this paper, we designed the digital pulse motor control chip including a circular interpolation function. The proposed algorithm in this paper is a nonparametric cure generation algorithm (Jordan's algorith) and a very simple algorithm. So the design for this algorithm used a small number of gates. Also an average error is fairly low. The max output speed is 4Mpps(Pulse per second), the max input frequency is 16MHz and the chip is useful for the stepping and servo motors. The software contains one or two, and many axes linear interpolation algorithm and two axes circular interpolation algorithm.

  • The main object of this work is the development of an intelligent multi-sensor integration and fusion model that uses fuzzy inference system. Sensor data from different types of sensors are integrated and fused together based on the confidence which is not typically used in traditional data fusion methods. The information is fed as input to a fuzzy inference system(FIS).   • Increasing demands on precision machining of free-form surfaces have necessitated the tool to move not only with position error as small as possible, but also with smoothly varying feedrates. In this paper, linear, circular and spline interpolators were developed in reference-pulse type using PC. M-SAM and M-DAM were designed by the comparison and analysis of previous interpolation methods. Spline interpolator was designed to follow the free-form curves. To apply to the real cutting process, constant feedrate compensation and acceleration-deceleration compensation were conceived. Finally, its performance was tested using retrofitted milling machine. As a result, new interpolation algorithm is favorable in precision machining of free-form curves.

  • 본 연구에서는 8K UHD($7680{\times}4320$) 영상을 실시간 부호화하기 위한 $4{\times}4$ 블록 부화소 움직임추정기를 제안한다. 연산처리성능을 향상시키기 위해 보간 연산을 $4{\times}4$ 블록 단위로 병렬화시켰으며, 병렬 보간 연산에서 필요한 메모리 대역폭을 확장하기 위해 $10{\times}10$개의 메모리 어레이를 가진 2D 캐쉬 버퍼 구조를 설계하였다. 그리고 2D 캐쉬 버퍼는 검색영역 간 재사용 기법을 적용하여 참조화소의 중복저장을 최소화하였으며, $4{\times}4$ 블록 병렬 보간 필터는 3단(수평 수직 1/2부화소, 대각선 1/2부화소, 1/4부화소) 평면 보간 연산 파이프라인 구조로 설계하여 연산회로를 고속화시켰다. 0.13um 공정에서 시뮬레이션한 결과, 436.5K게이트의 $4{\times}4$ 블록 부화소 움직임추정기는 동작주파수 187MHz에서 8K UHD급 동영상을 초당 30프레임으로 실시간 처리하는 성능을 보였다.

  • Software linear and exponential acceleration/deceleration algorithms for control of machine axes of motion in industrial robots and CNC machine tools are proposed. Typical hardware systems used to accelerate and decelerate axes of motion are mathematically analyzed. Discrete-time state equations are derived from the mathematical analyses for the development of software acceleration/deceleration algorithms. Synchronous control method of multiple axes of motion in industrial robots and CNC machine tools is shown to be easily obtained on the basis of the proposed acceleration/deceleration algorithms. The path error analyses are carried out for the case where the software linear and exponential acceleration/deceleration algorithms are applied to a circular interpolator. A motion control system based on a floating point digital signal processor (DSP) TMS 320C30 is developed in order to implement the proposed algorithms. Experimental results demonstrate that the developed algorithms and the motion control system are available for control of multiple axes and nonlinear motion composed of a combination of lines and circles which industrial robots and CNC machine tools require.

Sea State Hindcast for the Korean Seas With a Spectral Wave Model and Validation with Buoy Observation During January 1997

  • The state-of-art third generation wave prediction model WAM was applied to the Korean seas for a winter monsoon period of January 1997. The wind field used in the present study is the global NSCAT-ERS/NCEP blended winds, which was further interpolated using a bi-cubic spline interpolator to fine grid limited area shallow water regime surrounding the Korean seas. To evaluate and investigate the accuracy of WAM, the hindcasted wave heights are compared with observed data from two shallow water buoys off Chil-Bal and Duk-Juk. A detailed study has been carried with the various meteorological parameters in observed buoy data and its inter-dependency on model computed wave fields was also investigated. The RMS error between the observation and model computed wave heights results to 0.489 for Chil-Bal and 0.417 for Duk-Juk. A similar comparison between the observation and interpolated winds off Duk-Juk show RMS error of 2.28 which suggest a good estimate for wave modelling studies.
