  • An attempt has been made to determination the NC milling machine's tool-path through the adaptive parabolic interpolation method & the adaptive linear-parabolic interpolation method in consideration of the economical machining time. The algorithms for the above-mentioned interpolation methods have been designed and the numerical experiments for these methods have been conducted with the existing adaptive linear interpolation methods for comparision.

  • When resampling an image to a new set of coordinates, there is often a noticeable loss in image quality. The interpolation kernel determines the quality of interpolation. In this paper, We think two interpolation methods: cubic-spline method, neural net method, at first study given interpolation method using spline and then present new interpolation methon using SOFM and LAM(neural net method), finally compare the performance of several interpolation methods including replication, bilinear, spline and new methods.

쿼터니언을 이용한 6축 로봇 방위보간법에 관한 연구 (A Study on Orientations Interpolation of 6-Axis Articulated Robot using Quaternion)

  • This paper presents the study on orientations interpolation of 6-axis articulated robot using quaternion. In this paper, we propose a control algorithm between given two orientations of 6-axis articulated robot by using a quaternion with spherical linear interpolation. In order to study the quaternion interpolation, We created Inverse kinematics program and Interpolation program using LabVIE$^{(R)}$. The rotation angle of each axis were calculated using both euler orientations interpolation program and quaternion orientations interpolation program. The proposed control algorithm is shown to be effective in terms of motor angles and torques when compared to a conventional Euler angle interpolation, by using both LabVIEW$^{(R)}$ and RecurDyn$^{(R)}$.

Image Data Interpolation Based on Adaptive Triangulation

  • This paper proposes a regional feature preserving adaptive interpolation algorithm for natural images. The algorithm can be used in resolution enhancement, arbitrary rotation and other applications of still images. The basic idea is to first scan the sample image to initialize a 2D array which records the edge direction of all four-pixel squares, and then use the array to adapt the interpolation at a higher resolution based on the edge structures. A hybrid approach of switching between bilinear and triangulation-based interpolation is proposed to reduce the overall computational complexity. The experiments demonstrate our adaptive interpolation and show higher PSNR results of about max 2 dB than other traditional interpolation algorithms.

영상의 지역성을 이용한 보간 영상의 화질 개선 기법 (Quality Improvement Scheme of Interpolated Image using the Locality)

  • In the case of image magnification by using interpolation methods, interpolated pixels are estimated from the known pixels in source image. The magnified image is composed of the known pixels in source image and the interpolated pixels which is estimated. If the interpolated pixels are estimated to have the locality which is exists in real images, the magnified image is much closer to the real image. In this paper, an improved interpolation scheme is proposed to estimate pixels from the known pixels in source image using the locality which is exists in real images. The magnified image by using the proposed interpolation scheme is much closer to the real image. The performance of the proposed interpolation scheme is evaluated by using PSNR(Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) in experiment. The PSNR of the magnified image by using the proposed scheme is improved than that of the magnified images by using existing interpolation methods. So, the proposed interpolation scheme is an efficient interpolation method for the quality improvement of magnified image.

  • The objective of this paper is to propose the image interpolation method with pseudomedian filter for Field warping and morphing, and to evaluate and analyze its subjective image quality. The Field warping relatively gives rise to more computing overhead, but it can use the control line to control the warping result with more elaboration. Due to the working characteristics of the image warping and morphing process, various complex geometrical transformations occur and a image interpolation technique is needed to effectively process them. Of the various interpolation techniques, bilinear interpolation which shows above average performance is the most widely used. However, this technology has its limits in the reconstructivity of diagonal edges. The proposed interpolation method is to efficiently combine the bilinear interpolation and the pseudomedian filter0based interpolation which shows good performance in the reconstructivity of diagonal edges. According to the proposed interpolation method, we could get more natural warping and morphing results than other interpolation methods.

오류 정정기능이 내장된 6-비트 70㎒ 새로운 Interpolation-2 Flash ADC 설계 (A 6-bit, 70㎒ Modified Interpolation-2 Flash ADC with an Error Correction Circuit)

  • 본 논문에서는 새로운 interpolation-2 방식의 비교기 구조를 제안하여 칩 면적과 전력 소모를 줄이며 오류정정 회로를 내장하는 6-비트 70㎒ ADC를 설계하였다. Interpolation 비교기를 적용하지 않은 flash ADC의 경우 2n개의 저항과 2n -1개의 비교기가 사용되며 이는 저항의 수와 비교기의 수에 비례하여 많은 전력과 큰 면적을 필요로 하고 있다. 또한, interpolation-4 비교기를 적용한 flash ADC는 면적은 작으나 단조도, SNR, INL, DNL 특성이 떨어진다는 단점이 있었다. 본 논문에서 설계한 interpolation-2 방식의 ADC는 저항, 비교기, 앰프, 래치, 오류정정 회로, 온도계코드 디텍터와 인코더로 구성되며, 32개의 저항과 31개의 비교기를 사용하였다. 제안된 회로는 0.18㎛ CMOS 공정으로 제작되어 3.3V에서 40mW의 전력소모로 interpolation 비교기를 적용하지 않은 flash ADC에 비해 50% 개선되었으며, 칩 면적도 20% 감소되었다. 또한 노이즈에 강한 오류정정 회로가 사용되어 interpolation-4 비교기를 적용한 flash ADC 에 비해 SNR이 75% 개선된 결과를 얻었다.

가중치 윤곽선 검출기를 이용한 저 복잡도 하이브리드 보간 알고리듬 (Low Complexity Hybrid Interpolation Algorithm using Weighted Edge Detector)

  • 예측(predictive) 이미지 코딩에서는 최소 자승법을 기반으로 하는 적응적인 예측기가 에지 주변에 있는 픽셀(pixel)의 예측 결과를 향상시키는데 효과적인 방법으로 알려져있다. 본 논문에서는 가중치 윤곽선 검출기 (weighted edge detector)를 이용한 하이브리드 보간 알고리듬(hybrid interpolation algorithm)을 제안한다 전체적인 계산의 복잡도를 감소시키기 위해서 2차원 선형 보긴(bilinear interpolation)과 에지 방향성을 이용한 보간(edge directed interpolation) 알고리듬을 선택적으로 적용시키는 하이브리드 접근방법을 이용한다. 이런 접근 방법을 2차원 선형 보간 알고리듬과 에지 방향성을 이용한 보간 알고리듬을 적용했을 경우와 비교하기 위해서 PSNR과 SSIM 측정값을 이용하여 객관적이고 주관적인 영상의 화질 비교는 제안한 알고리듬이 비슷한 성능을 나타냄을 보여준다. 또한 제안하는 가중치 윤곽선 검출기를 이용한 하이브리드 보간 알고리듬은 정규화된 CPU 수행 시간을 에지 방향성을 이용한 보간 알고리듬과 비교하면 최대 20배의 복잡도 감소 효과를 얻을 수 있다.

Application of Curve Interpolation Algorithm in CAD/CAM to Remove the Blurring of Magnified Image

  • This paper analyzes the problems that occurred in the magnification process for a fine input image and investigates a method to improve the problems. This paper applies a curve interpolation algorithm in CAD/CAM for the same test images with the existing image algorithm in order to improve the problems. As a result. the nearest neighbor interpolation. which is the most frequently applied algorithm for the existing image interpolation algorithm. shows that the identification of a magnified image is not possible. Therefore. this study examines an interpolation of gray-level data by applying a low-pass spatial filter and verifies that a bilinear interpolation presents a lack of property that accentuates the boundary of the image where the image is largely changed. The periodic B-spline interpolation algorithm used for curve interpolation in CAD/CAM can remove the blurring but shows a problem of obscuration, and the Ferguson's curve interpolation algorithm shows a more sharpened image than that of the periodic B-spline algorithm. For the future study, hereafter. this study will develop an interpolation algorithm that has an excel lent improvement for the boundary of the image and continuous and flexible property by using the NURBS. Ferguson's complex surface. and Bezier surface used in CAD/CAM engineering based on. the results of this study.
