Design and Implementation of Contact Control Smart Phone Application

  • In the recent years, as smart phones popularized, the number of people who use IMS (instant messaging service) and SNS (social network service) rapidly has increased as the usage of SMS (short message service) relatively decreased. That is why this thesis suggests a contact control service based on Android. It contains an inducing function that calls acquaintances, which were given a score based on the level of familiarity from saved contacts and call logs. And it provides an overall ranking of call log in order to grasp frequently called people. This developed system was tested on Samsung Galaxy S2 and LG Optimus LTE / Android 2.2 which were the main smart phone models.

Adolescent Perceptions of Social Media in a Pacific Rim Community

  • This study explored social media use among 50 adolescents attending a public high school in a non-Western community. Adolescents participated in focus group interviews and completed a written self-report survey. Findings revealed that these teenagers use electronic communication forms such as phone texting and social networking sites to connect with friends and family. They show a preference for Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram, do not engage in risky Internet behavior, and acknowledge both positive and negative aspects of electronic communication forms. In addition, their selection of electronic communication forms is dependent upon several factors that include the strength of the relationship and type of discourse exchange. For example, they reserve phone texting and cell use, which are more private communication mediums for family and friends. Electronic communication did not replace face-to-face interactions; rather it complemented and extended those interactions. Findings support existing literature on adolescent social media use and those shared with other collectivist cultural groups.

  • This paper presents a practical method of realizing Differential GPS(DGPS) using an effective communication link. The DGPS technique is used to correct user's pseudorange measurements with trasmintted correction data from the reference station. An effective communication system is the key element for successful application of the DGPS. In this paper, a practical method for efficient data communication link for DGPS using mobile phone and TCP/IP protocol is presented. Its performance is verified via field test.

아두이노 기반의 독거노인을 위한 스마트홈 시스템 (Arduino Based Smart Home System for the Elderly Living Alone)

  • Recently, Smart Home System(SHS) is applied in order to provide comfort, energy efficient and better security to the residence. Thus, by introducing the SHS in the house of elderly people, it is possible to provide a convenient and safe life for old people especially living alone. This paper presents the design and implementation of a low cost but yet flexible and secure smart-phone based SHS. The design is based on inter-working between Arduino board with Bluetooth and Arduino board with Ethernet shield, and the home monitor/appliances are connected to the input/output ports of this board via sensors/relays. In addition, when the old man is put on an emergency, the proposed system will automatically notify it the family. Therefore, we have implemented an inexpensive and efficient SHS for the elderly living alone by inter-working smart phones, internet server and Arduino micro-controller.

인터넷과 모바일 금연교육프로그램의 효과 비교분석 (Evaluation of an Internet and a Mobile-Based Smoking Cessation Program)

  • The potential contribution of the internet and mobile phone to smoking cessation seems huge, given that a majority of Koreans now use internet and have mobile phones. The Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare developed and has been offering an internet-based smoking cessation program from the January, 2002 and a mobile-based program from the April, 2004. Despite the anticipated effectiveness of internet and mobile-based smoking cessation programs, there is little empirical evidence regarding the efficacy of both types of programs. Therefore, this study intended to evaluate the effectiveness of an internet and a mobile-based smoking cessation program and to provide the basic database for the development of effective smoking cessation strategies for the health promotion for the whole nation. Cessation and satisfaction data were obtained from the 434 participants in both programs. The data were analysed for the comparison of quit-smoking rate and the degree of satisfaction between an internet smoking cessation program and a mobile smoking cessation program. The main results of this study were as follows: 1. For the internet program participants, there were statistically significant differences in cessation rate by gender(P<0.05) and age(P<0.01). In contrast, none of general characteristics provided statistically significant differences in cessation rate for the mobile program participants. 2. For the internet program participants, smoking related characteristics(average smoking amount and the reasons for smoking) didn't have an effect on smoking cessation. But, for mobile program participants, there was a statistically significant difference in cessation rate by the reasons for smoking(P<0.05). 3. The cessation rate was 31.9%(abstinence for the previous 30 days) for internet program participants and 17.8% for mobile program participants.

한국청소년의 인터넷 사용과 구강건강행태 (Internet use and oral health behaviors in Korean adolescents)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the association between Internet use and oral health behaviors in Korean adolescents. Methods: This study used the 13th Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey (2017) to find an association between Internet use and oral health behaviors. The total number of study subjects was 54,603. A chi-square test and multiple logistic regression analyses were used to estimate the association between Internet use and oral health behaviors. Results: Internet use was significantly increased among female, higher school grade, lower school records, and lower economic status participants (p<0.001). The rate of frequency of toothbrushing more than three times daily and use of oral hygiene devices was increased among female, higher school record, and higher economic status participants significantly (p<0.001). Oral symptoms experienced were significantly increased among female, higher school grade, lower school records, and lower economic status participants (p<0.001). The rate of the toothbrushing more than three times daily and toothbrushing after lunch groups was the highest in the group with less than one hour of Internet use, but the rate of oral symptoms experienced was the highest in the group with over five hours of Internet use. The risk of toothbrushing less than twice daily was 1.61 times higher in the group with over five hours of Internet use, and the risk of not brushing after lunch was significantly higher (1.52 times) in the over five hours group. The risk of not using oral hygiene devices was the highest (1.22 times) in the less than five hours group, and the risk of oral symptoms experiences was 1.40 times higher in the more than five hours group. Conclusions: Internet use was related to oral health behaviors in adolescents. Appropriate Internet use and awareness of oral health care are needed among adolescents.

Development of Indicators for Information Security Level Assessment of VoIP Service Providers

  • VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is a technology of transmitting and receiving voice and data over the Internet network. As the telecommunication industry is moving toward All-IP environment with growth of broadband Internet, the technology is becoming more important. Although the early VoIP services failed to gain popularity because of problems such as low QoS (Quality of Service) and inability to receive calls as the phone number could not be assigned, they are currently established as the alternative service to the conventional wired telephone due to low costs and active marketing by carriers. However, VoIP is vulnerable to eavesdropping and DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack due to its nature of using the Internet. To counter the VoIP security threats efficiently, it is necessary to develop the criterion or the model for estimating the information security level of VoIP service providers. In this study, we developed reasonable security indicators through questionnaire study and statistical approach. To achieve this, we made use of 50 items from VoIP security checklists and verified the suitability and validity of the assessed items through Multiple Regression Analysis (MRA) using SPSS 18.0. As a result, we drew 23 indicators and calculate the weight of each indicators using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The proposed indicators in this study will provide feasible and reliable data to the individual and enterprise VoIP users as well as the reference data for VoIP service providers to establish the information security policy.

무선인터넷 환경에서 자기주도학습 모바일 콘텐츠 설계 (Development of Mobile Contents for Self-Directed Learning in Wireless Internet)

  • 본 연구에서는 무선인터넷의 교육적 활용을 위해 국내 무선인터넷 기술현황과 이용실태에 알아보고 관련연구 및 사례분석을 통해, 이를 바탕으로 현 시점에서 적용 가능한 '행렬 OX 퀴즈'를 설계 및 구현 하였다. 본 시스템의 주요 특징은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기존의 유선인터넷의 시간적, 공간적 제약을 탈피하여 무선인터넷 시대에 맞는 교육콘텐츠를 제시함으로써 교육적 효과를 거두고자 하였다. 둘째, 현재의 무선인터넷 사용 환경과 기술을 충분히 고려하여 휴대폰을 무선 인터넷 단말기로 선택하였고, 현재 가입자 수가 가장 많은 SK텔레콤의 WAP방식 Markup언어를 지원하여 사용자의 편의성을 증진시켰다. 셋째, 무선인터넷 활용수업을 통해 학생의 자기주도 학습 능력을 신장시킬 수 있다. 특히, 무선인터넷 활용 수업을 통해 자신의 학습에 대한 책임감을 높이고 직면한 학습 문제를 해결하는 데 필요한 기술과 능력을 키울 수 있다. 본 연구에서 구현된 교육콘텐츠는 무선인터넷이 보편화되면 충분한 교육적 효과가 기대된다.

국내 인터넷 전문은행의 도입과 발전 방향 제안 (Introduction of the Internet-only Bank and Development direction Proposal)

  • 우리나라는 미국과 유럽, 일본 등에 이어 인터넷 전문은행의 출범을 앞두고 있다. 인터넷 전문은행은 인터넷과 콜센터에서 예금 및 대출 등의 업무를 수행하는 무점포 은행이다. 저비용 구조로 운영되어 기존은행에 비해 예금 대출 및 각종 수수료를 최소화하여 수익을 얻고자 한다. 인터넷 전문은행이 성공하기 위해서는 기존은행과 차별화된 업무를 개발하여 경쟁력을 확보해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 미국과 일본 등의 사례를 살펴보고 분석하여 앞으로 국내 인터넷 전문은행의 나아갈 방향을 제시해 보고자 한다. 인터넷 전문은행의 출현으로 은행을 이용하는 소비자의 경우 모바일이나 스마트폰을 이용하여 다양한 금융서비스를 제공받을 수 있다. 또한 신속하고 간편한 원스톱 금융서비스가 더욱 활성화될 것으로 기대한다. 기존은행과의 경쟁이 불가피하여 차별화된 금융서비스가 개발되면서 인터넷 전문은행은 더욱 발전해 나갈 것으로 기대한다. 은산분리 규제 완화와 증권, 보험, 통신, 유통 등 다양한 기업체들이 참여하여 산업간 융합을 이루어 새로운 금융서비스가 개발될 것으로 기대한다.

모바일 환경에서 CoAP/6LoWPAN 기반의 스마트 홈네트워크 시스템 구현 및 성능 분석 (Implementation of Smart Home Network System based on CoAP/6LoWPAN in Mobile Environment)

  • 사물인터넷(Internet of Thing) 기술이 커다란 이슈로 떠오르면서 홈 네트워크 시스템을 사물인터넷 기술 과 연동하기 위한 연구들이 많이 진행되고 있다. 특히 가정에서 사용되는 많은 기기들을 인터넷과 연결시키고 스마트 폰을 이용하여 기기들을 제어하고 동작시키기 위한 다양한 기술들이 제안되고 있다. 그러나 기존의 인터넷 프로토콜들은 적은 양의 데이터가 송수신되는 사물 인터넷 환경에는 비효율적이다. 그래서 IETF(Internet Engineering Task Force)에서는 저전력, 저용량, 저성능 등 제한된 환경에서 인터넷과 연동하여 사물들을 동작시키기 위한 대표적인 기술로 CoAP/6LoWPAN 프로토콜을 제안하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 CoAP/6LoWPAN을 이용하여 모바일 환경에서 홈네트워크 시스템을 동작시키고 제어하는 시스템을 구현하였으며 이는 향후 각 가정에 도입될 스마트홈네트워크 시스템 구축에 활용할 수 있을 것으로 전망된다. 또한 기존 인터넷 망에서 사용되는 HTTP와의 성능 분석을 수행하여 CoAP/6LoWPAN 프로토콜을 사용한 제안 시스템이 사물인터넷 환경에 적합함을 보여주고 있다.
