이 연구는 국제학술지 발행의 한 모범사례로, 전공분야 학회와 관련기관이 협력하여 발행하고 있는 OSJ가 국제학술지로 발전한 요인을 분석하고, 그 분석결과를 바탕으로 국내학술지가 국제학술지로 발전하기 위한 바람직한 운영방안을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 OSJ의 게재논문, 편집진, 인용현황 등을 심층적으로 분석하고, 해외의 유사한 사례와도 비교하였다. 분석결과 관련기관과의 협력, 인용이 많이 되는 논문의 게재 및 특별호 발간 등이 학술지의 국제화를 위해 필요한 것으로 제안하였다.

Objective : To establish the fundament for EBM of Traditional Korean Medicine, the papers on Bangpungtongseong-san (Fangfengtongsheng-san) frequently used in medical institutions of Traditional Korean Medicine were analyzed through researching domestic and international papers. Methods : The papers were classified by the registration of domestic or international journals, the year of publishment, experimental fields and the kinds of studies on biological activities. Results : Among 324 volumes of papers on Bangpungtongseong-san (Fangfengtongsheng-san), 38 volumes were selected according to selective criteria. 18 volumes were published in domestic journals, 20 volumes were in Japanese journal. The papers on instrumental analyses reported the quantification of standard compounds of herbal medicines in Bangpungtongseong-san (Fangfengtongsheng-san) using HPLC method. The papers on biological activities of Bangpungtongseong-san (Fangfengtongsheng-san) showed inhibitory effect to obesity, arteriosclerosis, allergic response, inflammation, pain, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, atopy, diabete mallatus and improvement of gastrointestinal activity and cerebral blood circulation. Among biological activities, papers on anti-obesity effect were reported mostly. Conclusions : Further studies including anti-obesity activity need to be preceeded to establish the fundament for EBM of Bangpungtongseong-san (Fangfengtongsheng-san).

The purpose of this study was to review the current state and characteristics of instruments used to assess individual understanding of the nature of science (NOS). This study conducted a series of content analyses of the articles published in a total of seven Korean and international journals from 1990 to 2009. A total of 99 research papers and assessment tools were categorized according to their features such as item type, the method of development, philosophical perspectives and others. So, evaluation domains of the instruments were also compared with the features of the NOS endorsed in some standards science education documents internationally well known, such as Benchmarks for Science Literacy (AAAS, 1993), National Science Education Standards (NRC, 1996). It was found that VNOS was the most frequently used instrument used for the last 20 years. There was a difference between characteristics of instruments used in Korean journals and these in international journal, such as philosophical perspectives, item type. Moreover, the results showed that there were only a few of instruments to ask about ethics of scientists, significance of science process skill and the context. NOS instruments focused only on limited aspects of NOS emphasized by the standard documents.

In the age of information, newly produced knowledge is mostly written in English. Therefore, there has been a strong demand for English language learning in the EFL context. However, most EFL learners possess a lack of interest and motivation in the text-based reading class. In this educational context, film is one of the most widely used materials in English reading classes considering that modern learners are predominantly familiar with various audiovisual materials. The purpose of this study is to investigate how Korean EFL learners experienced in the film-based reading class. Specifically, this study aims to analyze the EFL students' perceptions about the class and learning strategies that they used during the class. In order to comprehensively interpret the EFL learners' experiences in the classroom, a coding system consisting of five categories was developed: report, emotion, reflection, evaluation, future plans. The results of data analysis showed that the use of movies in English reading classes had positive effects on reading comprehension and inference of word meaning. The most frequently used learning strategies were affective strategies which helped them control their emotion, attitude, motivations and values, whereas memorization strategies were rarely used. In this respect, this study suggests that the use of movies in the EFL reading classroom encourage students' attention and help them obtain and activate schema which is useful in gaining a better understanding of text-based reading materials.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze intervention studies related to Snoezelen (multisensory environment). Methods: Studies related to Snoezelen (multisensory environment) published between 1995 and 2010 in both Korean and International journals were systematically reviewed, and analyzed following guidelines. Based on inclusion criteria, 23 studies including 5 Korean and 18 International articles were selected. Results: Most studies were conducted in various area of research such as medicine, nursing, and occupational therapy. There was no publication related to Snoezelen (multisensory environment) in Korean nursing journals. In terms of target population, more than 65 % of the study subjects were patients with dementia, mental retardation, and learning disability. Intervention was implemented mostly in less than 30 minutes, once a week for 2 to 4 weeks. The effects on behavior, physical, and psychological contexts were assessed as outcome indicators. There was more 'positive' than 'no effect' in self-stimulatory behaviors, problem behaviors, heart rate, pain, mood state, and anxiety, whereas more 'no effect' than 'positive' in blood pressure, respiration, enjoyment, and relaxation. Conclusion: Future studies are needed to develop the protocol and outcome indicators for effective use of this new intervention in Korea.

Methods : The papers were classified by the registration of domestic or international journals, the year of publishment, experimental fields and the kinds of studies on biological activities. Results : Among 2005 volumes of papers on Bojungikgi-tang(Buzhongyiqi-tang), 219 volumes were selected according to selective criteria. 71 volumes were published in domestic journals, 52 volumes were in Chinese journal, 96 volumes were in Japanese journal. The papers on instrumental analyses reported the quantification of standard compounds of herbal medicines in Bojungikgi-tang(Buzhongyiqi-tang) using HPLC method. The papers on biological activities of Bojungikgi-tang(Buzhongyiqi-tang) showed mainly immune regulation, anti-infection, anti-cancer, gastrointestinal activity, neuropsychiatric regulation, anti-inflammation, hepatoprotection, musculoskeletal regulation. Among biological activities, papers on immume regulation were reported mostly. Conclusions : The efficacy of Bojungikgi-tang(Buzhongyiqi-tang) could be related to immune regulation, gastrointestinal activity, anti-fatigue and further study need to be preceeded to establish the fundament for EBM of Bojungikgitang(Buzhongyiqi-tang).

The current study aimed at measuring the rate of loss in search results of the actual number of publications in journals indexed by Web of Science when not using the accurate official authority name as indicated by the Ministry of Education. Conducting a search using the authority name does not always yield complete results of all existing publications. Researchers in Saudi universities tend to use up to 10 different random names of universities when searching. This interesting fact has prompted the authors of this paper to conduct a study on the search results of 30 Saudi universities using the authority name as indicated by the Ministry of Education. The statistical analyses revealed that there is a high tendency for the wrong use of authority names. Results show that 8 universities were not found in the search results. Furthermore, other universities are losing between 10 and 30% of search results that reflect the actual number of publications. Consequently, the rank of each university, as well as the general rank of Saudi universities in the Web of Science, will be affected.

Purpose: EAJBE is actively responding to changes in academic paradigms at domestic and abroad and is carrying out measures to maximize synergy effects between academic fields with the goal of being at the world level. This study aims to present a developmental strategy for EAJBE to grow into an academic journal with international public trust and prepare for future changes. Research design, data and methodology: This paper identifies the current status from the first issue of EAJBE to the present, and analyzes the overall development strategy and direction. Results: EAJBE continues to strengthen long-term investment for internationalization and activities to attract members of excellent scholars. Specifically, first of all, EAJBE aims to operate responsible academic journals, such as guaranteeing the long term of the president of the academic society, the chairman of the editorial board, and the editor-in-chief. EAJBE also focuses on expanding investment for internationalization from a long-term perspective. Finally, EAJBE actively strives for academic exchanges between scholars abroad and at home. Conclusions: EAJBE was indexed in the KCI of the Korea Research Foundation and currently operates a rigorous academic journal to be indexed in the SCOPUS. Already, EAJBE is doing its best to become a successful model for Korean academic journals. EAJBE's path forward will be the first one that no academic society has ever reached as the world's top academic journal.

The purpose of this study is to classify the types of local market knowledge and knowledge sources in reverse knowledge transfer and analyze their relevance. To do so, first, we searched for papers related to the types of local knowledge published in 9 international business academic journals between 1988 and 2020, and derived four types of local market knowledge. Second, in order to classify the source of knowledge, we searched for papers related to network types published in 9 international business academic journals between 1988 and 2020, and divided them into 4 types to derive characteristics. Third, by examining the types of local market knowledge that can be obtained according to network types, a conceptual model was developed between them, and the suitability between local market knowledge and sources of knowledge was revealed through empirical analysis. Through empirical research on what kind of knowledge can be obtained depending on the knowledge sources, various business and academic implications can be provided to many companies.

Purpose - This study analyzes topics discussed in the International Journal of Consumer Studies through a content analysis, to reveal the impact of cross-cultural management in consumer research. Research Design, Data, and Methodology - The International Journal of Consumer Studies has the highest impact factor among international consumer journals, and was chosen for research. This study investigated 712 articles, covering a ten-year period. Results - A total of 82 articles were found to be related to cross-cultural management, out of 712 articles. This shows a need for improvement in the area of cross-cultural management, and implies that the discipline of cross-cultural management will continue to have a significant impact on consumer studies. Conclusions - While content analyses have been conducted in the area of consumer research in the past, a comparative content analysis in the International Journal of Consumer Studies is unprecedented. This study offers insights on the comparative analysis of general articles and articles related to cross-cultural management, which will be useful reference points for future global markets and fields in distribution and consumer research.
