The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between cognitive ability and emotional and behavioural problems in a nonclinical sample of 120 preschool children aged 4-5 years. Cognitive ability scores were derived from the 'McCarthy Scales of Children's Abilities', and emotional and behavioural problems were measured using quantitative and dimensional method, 'Child Behavior Checklist'. The results from this study support similar findings among older children and clinical populations that lower McCarthy general, verbal, and perceptual-performance IQ scores are associated with internalizing and externalizing emotional and behavioural problems. On the basis of this study, early identification of intellectual deficits among preschool children may help to prevent later school difficulties and severe psychopathology.
Comtemporary firms need capability of acquiring external knowledge and internalizing it to cope with environmental fluctuation. The paper analyzes the impact of absorptive capacity, an ability to recognize and utilize external knowledge, on knowledge acquisition of the firm, and examines the role of trust in the knowledge acquisition process. Data were collected from 84 domestic companies that had adopted ERP packages. The results indicate that prior experiences of knowledge acquisition, communication mechanism, and conflict resolution mechanism affect knowledge acquisition positively. Among those independent variables, communication mechanism and conflict resolution mechanism significantly and positively related with trust. Trust is, in turn, positively associated with knowledge acquisition. Meanwhile, previous knowledge base and prior relationship with the knowledge provider do not affect knowledge acquisition. Further, the results provide evidence that trust plays a mediating role between other absorptive capacity factors and knowledge acquisition.
This study explored the relationships among child temperament, mothering daily hassles, and children's social adjustment in 254 kindergartens and childcare centers. The mothers of the participants completed the measures of child temperament and mothering daily hassles. The social adjustment in daycare was assessed through the rating provided by the children's teachers. Correlations and regressions were used for the analyses. The results showed that sociability, activity and soothability were related to social adjustment that attention-span, soothability, emotionality and activity were related to the mothering daily hassles that mothering daily hassles by children's challenging behavior were negatively related to the social competence and positively internalizing problems and that sociability and activity were useful to predict children's social adjustment in kindergartens and childcare centers.
This study provides allocation methods and transaction instances of introducing pilot projects of $SO_2$ emission trading that recently rises as an scheme for effective emission regulation to internalizing environmental externalities. The emissions caps that is the total endowment of $SO_2$ emission permits are calculated in each emission plant by considering methods for distributing those permits-by giving them away or by selling them at auction. The method adopted in this study has several defects in application of the reality. However, this study may have contributions to cognize the importance of, allowance trading among the participants and to firstly design the allocations of emission permits for each plant using real emission data.
Social skills and behavior problems of 90 4- and 5-year-old children were analyzed by children's negative emotionality(sadness, anger, and fear). The instrument for measurement of social skills(cooperation, self-control, assertion, and responsibility) was the Preschool Level of the Korean Version of the Social Skills Rating System(Suh, Mee-Ock, 2004). Measures of behavior problems included internalizing(anxiety, immaturity, withdrawal, physical symptoms) and externalizing(hyperactivity, aggression) problems. Results showed that girls were higher in negative emotionality(sadness) than boys, and 5-year-olds were higher in social skills than 4-year-olds. Children with lower levels of negative emotionality were higher in social skills and lower in behavior problems than children with higher levels of negative emotionality.

In this paper, we propose a CT-SPI Model based on a physical computing for improving Computational Thinking(CT) for elementary students. This study analyzes the results obtained from applying the CT-SPI model to fourth-grade class. The model is designed to embrace the learning activities and CT elements for three different stages: System thinking, Prototyping and Interaction. For providing curriculum with CT-SPI model, physical SW educational module is developed, so that learners could focus on internalizing CT. The study results indicate that a learning satisfaction and a degree of learner interest improve significantly. Comprehensive CT capability assessment results in three levels show that the capability in lowest level (score is below 4 out of 10) has decreased by 46.6% but capability in highest level (over 7 out of 10) has increased by 20%.
This study investigated the prevalence of mutual antipathy in peer groups and the distribution of mutual antipathy with same- and opposite-gender peers. Moreover, psychosocial maladjustment was compared between children with mutual antipathies and children with no mutual antipathies. The subjects, 520 children in the fifth and sixth grades completed peer nominations that assessed mutual antipathy, social behavior, peer victimization. and friendship. In addition, teachers assessed children's internalizing and externalizing problems. The results indicated that 23.5% of the children had one or more mutual antipathy. Compared to children with no antipathy, those with antipathy had different psychosocial adjustment. When including children who received at least one rejection nomination, having a mutual antipathy was associated with maladjustment for girls, but not for boys.

Summary : This study was designed to identify the difference in temperament, parent-adolescent's goodness of fit and behavioral problems between early-adolescent high risk group which can be divided into subgroups (ADHD-I and ADHD-HI/C) and normal group. Method : Subjects of this study were students of a Boy's Middle School and their parents. ADHD high risk group was determined by using three rating scales of ADHD behavioral symptoms : 1. Korean-ADHD Rating Scale, 2. Abbreviated Conners Parents Rating Scale, 3. Conners-Wells' Adolescent Self-Report Scale. Final research was based on the subjects including 25 people in ADHD-I high risk group, 70 ADHD-HI/C high risk group, 70 in normal group. Revised Dimensions of Temperament (DOTS-R) was used for students to assess their temperament, while DOTS-R : Ethnology for parents to access environmental demands. Goodness of fit between parent and adolescent was figured out by results of the two scales. Korean Youth Self Report (K-YSR) was used to examine behavioral problems. Results : When it comes to temperament of adolescents, ADHD-HI/C high risk group was found to be associated with higher scores on general activity level. In contextual parent demand to adolescent, ADHD-HI/C parents showed higher level of demands in general activity than other groups, and lower expectation of positive mood than ADHD-I parents. In parent-adolescent's goodness/poorness of fit, the research found out that ADHD-I and ADHD-HI/C had lower level of fit on pesitive/negative mood than normal group and indicated that ADHD behavioral symptoms connected with poorness of fit in emotional relationship between adolescents and their parents. In behavioral problems, ADHD-HI/C high risk group had severe externalizing and internalizing problems distinctly. It had more severe in externalizing problems than ADHD-I, while there were no differences in internalizing problems between the two subgroups. Conclusion The two ADHD subgroups in high risk adolescents had differences on temperamental activity level and on goodness of fit about positive mood. In addition, they had different patterns in externalizing/internalizing problems.

This study aimed at promoting interests and concerns about adolescents' behavior problems and inducing efforts for various preventive and therapeutic solutions by examining the relations of adolescents' family system types, school adjustment, and behavior problems. The subjects of this study were 1,444 middle school students who reside in Seoul and 1,382(male adolescents 747, female adolescents 635) self reported questionnaires were used for final analysis. The result of this study are as follows. First, female adolescents were experiencing more internalizing behavior problems than male adolescents. The gender difference must be considered in the prevention and solution of the behavior problems. Second, the level of adolescents' school adjustment in the maladjusted family type was the lowest, and the level of adolescents' school adjustment in the adjusted family type was the highest. Improving the level of the family functioning can effectively increase the level of the school life the most behavior problems, and those of the adjusted family type were adaptability. Third, adolescents of the maladjusted family type were experiencing the most behavior problems, and those of the adjusted family type were experiencing the least behavior problems. Fourth, if adolescents' school adjustment was in the high level, adolescents were experiencing the lower behavior problems. Therefore, developing educational and counseling programs that can constantly observe adolescents' school adjustment and improve maladjustment problems is adolescents' school adjustment and behavior problems in all family system types. Specially, the negative correlation between male adolescents' school adjustment and externalizing behavior problems and the negative correlation between female adolescents' school adjustment and internalizing behavior problems were higher in the maladjusted family type and middle-adjusted family than in the adjusted family.

Objectives : Few studies have examined the relation between the attachment styles of the primary caregivers and the behavioral problems of their children. This study was performed to identify the impact of the insecure parental attachment patterns on the development of their higher grades elementary school children's psychiatric manifestations and disorders. Methods : 504 higher elementary pupils and their primary caretakers were included in our study. Relationship Questionnaire, Kovacs Children's Depression Inventory, Spielberger's State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for children, and Korean Child Behavior Checklist were applied to them. Results : The grade-school children of the parents who belonged to preoccupied attachment type revealed higher Withdrawn, Anxious/depressed, Social Problems, Attention Problems, Delinquent Problems, Aggressive Problems, Internalizing Problems, Externalizing Problems, Total Behavioral Problems scores than ones of securely attached parents (p<0.01). Internalizing Problems score of preoccupied parents' children was highest, and one of avoidant and secure typed parents' kids followed in order (p=0.004) . More youngsters revealed Total Behavior Problem score high enough to clinically meaningful level in insecure parental attachment style than in secure one (p=0.038). Higher CDI score in insecure parental group was reported than in secure one (p=0.040). Conclusion : Parental insecure attachment can be associated with the development of the behavioral problems and psychiatric illness of their children.
