  • This study was conducted to explore the relationship between personality characteristics and mood in the selection of media content. Using meta-analysis, this study analyzed past studies regarding media content selection in television program. The results of this research showed that the preference of a given media content would depend on the viewer's mood, personality characteristics and the interaction between personality characteristics and mood states. The secondary data of television programs supported the association.

  • Family researchers had devoted little attention to Choice, Exchange theory by the time 1960. Being anchored by Thibaut & kelley(1959), this theory becomes one of the most widely used theoretical frameworks for family research. Waller's(1938) famous rating-dating hypothesis was intrinsically an exchange formulation. Blood and Wolfe(1960) employed the concept of rewards in their theory of family power. Farber(1964) also used the reward concept in his theory of permanent availability. Heer's(1964) specific application of its concepts to spousal power was among its earliest uses in the family. The general principle or most general proposition of the theory is that humans avoid costly behavior and seek rewarding statuses, to the end maxmize profits. This review will attempt to show that Choice, Exchange theory is applicable to the several arenas of family interaction and that it can provide an explanation for family behavior. Subjects such as mate selection, marital unstability, family cohesion, spousal power, the problems of aged, family co-unseling, and so on are included. By discussing research findings from a perspective of rewrds and costs this review will show that the application of the theory is not limited to one or two substative specialities with in the family domain. After all Choice, Exchange theory is truly general and can be productively applied to any domain of human behavior.

  • This study examines whether the reinforcement theory could be effectively applied to teaching assistant robots between a robot and a student in the same way as it is applied to teaching methods between a teacher and a student. Participants interacted with a teaching assistant robot in a 3 (types of robots: positive reinforcement vs. negative reinforcement vs. both reinforcements) by 2 (types of participants: honor students vs. backward students), within-subject experiment. Three different types of robots, such as 'Ching-chan-ee' which gives 'positive reinforcement', 'Um-bul-ee' which gives 'negative reinforcement', and 'Sang-bul-ee' which gives both 'positive and negative reinforcement' were designed based on the reinforcement theory and the token reinforcement system. Subjective impressions and preferences were measured according to the types of robots and the types of participants. Participants preferred the positive reinforcement robot most, and the negative reinforcement robot least. Regarding the number of stimulus, in case of the negative reinforcement robot for honor students, the less the stimulus is, the more positive the impressions toward the robot are. The findings demonstrate that the reinforcement interaction is important and effective factor which determines children's preferences and impressions for teaching assistant robots. The results of this study can be implicated as an effective guideline to interaction design of teaching assistant robots.

  • The significant role of transportation system for economic development process has been recognized, but the argument that transportation improvements stimulate economic development has brought sometimes no resonance in lacking of a plausible theory on the conditions and process of economic development by transportation investment. This paper reviews the theory on regional differentiation of transportation system and shows why and how the installation of a new transportation system or the improvements of the old transportation quality differentiate the spatial order of economic activities. It presents the interaction between the change of transportation quality with introducing of definition "transportation value" as tool of its determination and economic activities following the regional differentiation process, which result means regional defferentiation of niveau of economic development.

  • This study is concerned with the dynamic behaviour of a fluid layer and a submerged deposit of sand in a rigid rectangular container when subjected to horizontal shaking. Detailed analyses are made of the interaction between the fluid pressure field and the excess pore pressure changes in the sand deposit, in terms of finite-element modelling as well as of two-layer fluid theory. It is shown that the predicted performance compares favourably with what has been observed in centrifugal shaking-table testing on submerged sand deposits.

  • This paper is to identify hew to interpret metaphorical expressions on the basis of the Comparison Theory. The metaphor is widely distributed throughout various aspects of language. There are three important conventional theories that are related to the interpretation of metaphor: substitution, interaction and comparison theory. This paper attempts to interpret several metaphors representative of the seven paths. we can conclude that the seven paths of metaphor interpretation can be applied to the interpretation of various types metaphor expressions with more precision and they can convey the meaning of a metaphor according to the speaker’s intention.

  • This paper investigates patterns of manner assimilation in Toba Batak, Sanskrit, Ponapean and Korean. Based on cross-linguistic patterns of manner assimilation, I develop the constraint, Syllable Contact (SyllCon), as a type of a markedness constraint in Correspondence Theory. With the establishment of high-ranking SyllCon, I argue that several patterns of manner assimilation result from the interaction of high-ranking SyllCon and correspondence constraints such as Ident[sonorant].

  • To understand the interaction of a fluid and a rigid body, we use the concept of B-evolution. Then in a similar way to the usual Navier-Stokes system, we obtain a Helmholtz type decomposition. Using B-evolution theory and the decomposition, we work on the semigroup to analyze the linear part of the system.

  • We present a study of transition metal compounds using density functional theory (DFT), and density-corrected density functional theory(DC-DFT). By replacing the self-consistent density with that obtained from Hartree-Fock calculation, i.e., HF-DFT, the abnormality driven by self-interaction error is removed in several important cases. We discuss when and how HF-DFT works by examining 3d orbital dimers using approximate functionals and by comparing the results from self-consistent-DFT and HF-DFT with experimental values.

  • Purpose This study investigates that the routes of psychological ownership in Fanpage and the effect of psycholoigical ownership on customer loyalty based on psychological ownership theory. Fans are customers who clicked 'Like' on the fan page. These fans have a lot of friends on Facebook, so the word-of-mouth is more effective than other online communities. Therefore, it is necessary for fans to have psychological ownership, actively responding to the fan pages, and recommending them to friends. However, previous social network service studies have overlooked the importance of psychological ownership. In this study, we examine what factors can increase psychological ownership and show that customer loyalty can be enhanced through psychological ownership. Design/methodology/approach This study was designed to investigate the structural relationship between Fanpage Familiarity, Interaction(Customer-Brand interaction and Customer-customer interaction), Psychological Ownerhisp, and Customer Loyalty. Structural equation modeling with SmartPLS2.0 was used to analyze the relationships in the research model. Findings The results showed that Fanpage Familiarity and Customer-customer interaction is positively related with Psychological Ownership. However, Customer-Brand interaction did not influence Psychological Ownership. Psychological Ownership has a positive impact on Intention to Continue Using Fanpage and Recommend.
