The Concept and Application Methods of Intelligent Content

  • Intelligent Content is defined as detailed information or fragment of content which contains a semantic data structure. This semantic structure makes possible to do various intelligent operations. There are wide range of content-oriented applications such as classification, retrieval, extraction, translation, presentation and question-answering. The concept of Intelligent Content is applied to various fields like MPEG and Semantic Web. In this paper, we discuss the several important researches of Intelligent Content and how to apply this conception to these fields.

Some Comments on and an Extension to Activity Structures for Intelligent Systems

  • Activity structures are a set of functional structures which may be used to provide a uniform framework for the description of information processing systems. The interaction of some aspects of activity structures is discussed. Intelligent systems, a subset of information handling systems, are the primary emphasis of this work. An extension to the functional structures of the activity structures is proposed. The proposed structure is a met a-structure which affects most elements of an intelligent system. The structure is concerned with describing the way uncertainty in an environment is handled by a system. An example is given which shows the importance of describing the uncertainty handling method(s) of an intelligent system.

  • 본 논문에서는 지능형 서비스를 제공하는데 필수적인 상황인식 해석 구조를 제안한다. 제안된 모델은 외부 상황 정보와 내부 상황 정보를 통합한 해석 구조를 가지고 있으며, 상황 정보와 응용 서비스간의 독립성이 유지되도록 설계하였다. 제안된 해석 구조의 검증을 위해서 기존 강의실에 상황인식 개념을 도입한 테스트베드(Ubi-Class)를 구축하고 시나리오를 구성하였으며, 상황 해석에 따라 지능형 서비스가 수행되는지 실험하였다.

  • 현재 컴퓨팅 기술은 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서 컨텍스트 인식을 위한 지능화된 시스템 구조를 요구하고 있다. 컨텍스트를 인식하기 위한 지능화된 시스템은 에이전트를 기반으로 하고 있으며, 사용자를 인식하기 위한 센서의 정보와 서비스를 지원하기 위한 프레임을 필요로 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 각 센서와 서비스들을 동적으로 연결하고, 각종 컨텍스트를 안정적으로 지원할 수 있는 3-Tier 컨텍스트 인식 처리 서버/클라이언트 구조를 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템의 구조는 사용자의 상황 정보를 인식하는 클라이언트 계층과 인식된 상황정보를 처리하기 위한 응용처리 에이전트 서버(APAS) 계층, 이 두 계층을 관리하기 위한 관리서버(Management Server)로 구성된다. 또한 이 구조에서는 정교한 서비스를 제공하기 위하여 사용자의 정보는 동적 프로파일로 구성되어 있다.

  • Structure and electrical properties of $0.85NaNbO_3-0.15LiNbO_3$ ($(Li_{0.15}Na_{0.85})NbO_3$) ceramics were investigated as a function of sintering temperature. $(Li_{0.15}Na_{0.85})NbO_3$ ceramics were prepared by conventional solid state processing. A main phase of the orthorhombic perovskite structure and secondary phase of $LiNbO_3$ were confirmed for all sintered specimens. Dense $(Li_{0.15}Na_{0.85})NbO_3$ ceramics were obtained at sintering temperature above $1050^{\circ}C$. With increasing sintering temperature, the electromechanical coupling factor ($k_p$), piezoelectric constant ($d_{33}$) and relative dielectric constant (${\varepsilon}_r$) of the sintered specimens increased, while the mechanical quality factor ($Q_m$) decreased. These results are due to the increase of grain size and crystallite size of orthorhombic perovskite structure. Based on the temperature dependence of ${\varepsilon}_r$, stable piezoelectric properties were expected because no phase transition found up to $300^{\circ}C$. Typically, kp of 18%, $d_{33}$ of 34.7 pC/N, ${\varepsilon}_r$ of 135, and $Q_m$ of 62.8 were obtained for the specimens sintered at $1200^{\circ}C$ for 5 h.

Intelligent hybrid controlled structures with soil-structure interaction

  • A hybrid control system is presented for seismic-resistant building structures with and without soil-structure interaction (SSI). The hybrid control is a damper-actuator-bracing control system composed of passive and active controllers. An intelligent algorithm is developed for the hybrid system, in which the passive damper is designed for minor and moderate earthquakes and the active control is designed to activate when the structural response is greater than a given threshold quantity. Thus, the external energy for active controller can be optimally utilized. In the control of a multistory building, the controller placement is determined by evaluating the optimal location index (OLI) calculated from six earthquake sources. In the study, the soil-structure interaction is considered both in frequency domain and time domain analyses. It is found that the interaction can significantly affect the control effectiveness. In the hybrid control algorithm with intelligent strategy, the working stages of passive and active controllers can be different for a building with and without considering SSI. Thus SSI is essential to be included in predicting the response history of a controlled structure.

  • The purpose of the study of multi-robot system is to realize multi-robot system easy for the control of robot system in case robot is adapted in the complicated environment of task structure. To make real time control possible by making effective use of recognized information in this dynamic environment, suitable distribution of tasks should be made in consideration of function and role of each performing robots. In this paper, IHMA (Intelligent Hybrid Modular Architecture) of Intelligent combined control architecture which utilizes the merits of deliberative and reactive controllers will be suggested and its efficiency will be evaluated through the adaptation of control architecture to representative multi-robot system.

  • In order to implement Artificial Intelligence, various technologies have been widely used. Artificial Intelligence is applied for many industrial product and machine tools are the center of manufacturing devices in intelligent manufacturing system. The purpose of this paper is to present the construction of Rule Base for knowledge structure that is applicable to machine tools. This system is that decision whether to act in accordance with machine status is support system. It constructs Rule Base of knowledge used of machine toots. The constructed Rule Base facilitates the effective operation and control of machine tools and will provide a systematic way to integrate the expert's knowledge that will apply Intelligent Machine Tools.
