  • These days there are many researches on the vision based technology using deep learning. The lots of studies on the intelligent operation and maintenance for railway station system used technologies with vision analysis function. This paper analyzes the papers which studied the intelligent station system with vision analysis function for passengers and facilities monitoring, platform monitoring, fire monitoring, and effective operation and design. Also, this paper proposes research which uses the more powerful vision technology with deep-learning for smart railway station system.

  • Railway intelligent transportation systems and related Ministry of Land and rail operating agency's railway informatization planning of information technology, effective through the use of management strategies to establish or run to support the systematic informatization investment that you want to execute work in progress, during and yet the institutional informatization of operations mainly in the form of efficiency is Chinhae. Accordingly, in order to promote the details of the final challenge of providing real-time information and the usefulness of this information collection is clearly for the railway sector by function of the components is necessary to distinguish. In this paper, the details of the plan goals, promoting convenient rail-based real-time information, to promote optimal gohyoeuleul railways, railway safety and comfort, was defined as three. Selection of each goal, because the direction of vision and ITS around the railroad center of road users by highlighting the benefits of the railroad's traffic information center user switching, real-time delivery of information diversity (enhanced content) that can increase the capacity of line train operating systems, enhancing the safety management system introduced in the monitoring system and is a railroad crossing. Because urban railway project in accordance with the goal of decreasing the annual rate of the train support, and the average passenger wait time savings, increased future demand for railway, rail safety, including securing the expected effects may occur.

  • Recently, the load increasement and regenerative system of electrified railway system make a difficult to distinguish between the load current and fault current and it need a new intelligent protection system. The failure of traction system cause collapse of the other systems from high tension current. The over current from abnormal situation produces high tension current flow, high temperature are, voltage instability and current cutting, and break down railway systems. Protective system of traction system playa role of which detect and isolate failure points. In this paper, we proposed intelligent algorithm for discriminating normal and abnormal situation instead of the system being operated abnormally.

  • The government have plans to improve the railway transport capacity and transport hub for the sustainable national transport and logistics system. Specially, there are much efforts to improve transportation capacity such as high speed transportation of rail freight, enlargement of BT train, development of double stack train, etc. between railway transport hubs. If the transport capacity between railway logistics hubs is increased as planned, we must increase the handling capacity of railway hub terminals. But there are limits to enlarge the terminal infrastructure because of investment scale, location circumstances and urban development plans. To ensure the capacity, with the minimum required enlargement of infrastructure, it is necessary to extremely increase the efficiency of terminal operations. For improving the efficiency, we have to introduce the efficient terminal operation systems based on u-IT and operation optimize technologies. In this paper, we analyse the issues and problems of railway terminals(including ICD) and suggest the concept of intelligent railway terminal and the construction components of technology.

  • The Korean high speed railway is scheduled to open in 2004. For railway-based integrated transfer system, it is essential to develop intermodal information system for easy and better transfer to other travel modes. An understanding of mode choices by KTX passengers is crucial for the intermodal transportation planning. Recent development of Intelligent Transportation System made it possible for railroad users to access the information in a cabin or waiting areas at the station. Development of intermodal transportation information system will influence the relative demand for traveling by train from competing other transportation mode. The research is focused on a general overview of the ITS with an emphasis on intermodal transportation information system.

  • Train control and monitoring system for the railway train requires a reliable real-time communication network. The system have various functions, diagnostics, passenger informations, and fault-tolerant controls. For this system, an international standard called TCN(Train Communication Network) is proposed by IEC and the train industries. The TCN is composed of two layers, wire train bus(WTB) and multifunction vehicle bus(MVB). This paper evaluates the performance of the proposed WTB and modified WTB. And computer simulations are performed. The evaluated results can be used for the fault tolerant network in the railway train system.

  • In this paper, we introduced a sequential intelligent image analysis system(SIIAS). This system is implemented using PTZ camera with intelligent analysis algorithm and TI's Davinci DM6446. Enter, abandon, removal and cross functions are included in our system. These functions can be used individually or in combination for object monitoring and tracking. Sequential intelligent function processing is more efficient than the previous one by virtue of accurate observation, wide area monitoring and low cost.

  • Advancement in information technology have enabled applying vision sensor to railway, such as CCTV. CCTV has been widely used in railway application, however the CCTV is a passive system that provide limited capability to maintain safety from boarding platform. The station employee should monitor continuously CCTV monitors. Therefore immediate recognition and response to the situation is difficultin emergency situation. Recently, urban transit operators are pursuing applying an unattended station operation system for their cost reduction. Therefore, an intelligent monitoring system is need for passenger's safety in railway. The paper proposes a vision based monitoring system and object detection algorithm for passenger's safety in railway platform. The proposed system automatically detects accident in platform and analyzes level of danger using image processing technology. The system uses stereo vision technology with multi-sensors for minimizing detection error in various railway platform conditions.

  • In this paper, we examine the MIMO(Multiple Input Multiple Output) system in the point of mobile communication that is used for railway environment. First, under the radio environment, wireless channel characteristics are analyzed between moving train and base station, both assuming track side base stations and non-track side base stations. Next, the paper introduces the MIMO system which can be used to solve the problem of performance degradation in railway environment, and analyzes its performance in terms of channel capacity and diversity. We especially compares open-loop scheme with closed loop scheme at the diversity and analyses their performance according to antenna correlation. Finally, the we presents experimental result from the ESCORT project that was studied in railway environment with the MIMO system.
