해체와 구성을 이용한 다중 스케일 균열 검출 (Multi-scale crack detection using decomposition and composition)

  • In this paper, we propose a multi-scale crack detection method. This method uses decomposition, composition, and shape properties. It is based on morphology algorithm, crack features. We use a morphology operator which extracts patterns of crack. It segments cracks and background using opening and closing operations. Morphology based segmentation is better than existing integration methods using subtraction in detecting a crack it has small width. However, morphology methods using only one structure element could detect only fixed width crack. Thus, we use decomposition and composition methods. We use a decimation method for decomposition. After decomposition and morphology operation, we get edge images given by binary values. Our method calculates values of properties such as the number of pixels and the maximum length of the segmented region. We decide whether the segmented region belongs to cracks according to those data. Experimental results show that our proposed multi-scale crack detection method has better results than those of existing detection methods.

  • This paper presents the pedestrian navigation algorithm and the error compensation filter. The pedestrian navigation system (PNS) consists of the MEMS inertial sensors, the fluxgate, and the small-size GPS receiver. PNS calculates the navigational information using the signal patterns of the accelerometers. And the navigational information is completed by integration of the patterns, the fluxgate, and the GPS information. In general, PNS can provide the better solution than the low-cost inertial navigation system.

A shell-dynamics model for marine pipelines of large suspended length

  • The present investigations introduce the shell-finite element discretization for the dynamics of slender marine pipelines. A long catenary pipeline, corresponding to a particular Steel Catenary Riser (SCR), is investigated under long-standing cyclic loading. The long structure is divided into smaller tubular parts which are discretized with 8-node planar shell elements. The transient analysis of each part is carried out by the implicit time integration scheme, within a Finite Elements (FE) solver. The time varying external loads and boundary conditions on each part are the results of a prior solution of an integrated line-dynamics model. The celebrated FE approximation can produce a more detailed stress distribution along the structural surface than the simplistic "line-dynamics" approach.

  • 전산 해석과 병렬처리를 이용하여 정사각 관 내부를 전파하는 데토네이션파의 삼차원 구조를 살펴보았다. 가변 비열비 공식과 간략화 된 일단계 Arrhenius 반응 모델과 연계된 비점성 유체 방정식을 MUSCL 기반 TVD 해법과 4단계 Runge-Kutta 적분 방법을 이용하여 해석하였다. 삼차원에서의 비정상 해석 결과로부터 그을음 막 기록(smoked-foil record)에서 같은 길이와 다른 폭을 가지는 수평 및 대각 방향 불안정에 의한 상세한 파면 구조를 파악할 수 있었다.

  • An honeycomb/smooth land seal alternating with the honeycomb seal is suggested for structural enhancement in high pressure turbomachinery. Governing equations are derived for an honeycomb/smooth land annular gas seal based on Hirs' lubrication theory and Moody's friction factor model for smooth land and empirical friction factor model for honeycomb land. By using a perturbation analysis and a numerical integration method, the governing equations are solved to yield leakage and the corresponding dynamic coefficients developed by the seal. Theoretical results show that leakage is increasing and rotordynamic stability is decreasing as increasing the length of smooth land part in the honeycomb/smooth land seal.

  • This paper introduces a novel neuro-fuzzy system based on the polynomial fuzzy neural network(PFNN) architecture. The PFNN consists of a set of if-then rules with appropriate membership functions whose parameters are optimized via a hybrid genetic algorithm. A polynomial neural network is employed in the defuzzification scheme to improve output performance and to select appropriate rules. A performance criterion for model selection, based on the Group Method of DAta Handling is defined to overcome the overfitting problem in the modeling procedure. The hybrid genetic optimization method, which combines a genetic algorithm and the Simplex method, is developed to increase performance even if the length of a chromosome is reduced. A novel coding scheme is presented to describe fuzzy systems for a dynamic search rang in th GA. For a performance assessment of the PFNN inference system, three well-known problems are used for comparison with other methods. The results of these comparisons show that the PFNN inference system outperforms the other methods while it exhibits exceptional robustness characteristics.

  • Two-dimensional steady flowfields generated by slot injection into supersonic flow are numerically simulated by the integration of Navier-stokes equation with two-equation κ-turbulence model. High-order upwind scheme is used on unstructured adaptive meshes. The numerical results are compared with experimental data in terms of surface static pressure distributions, the length of the upstream separation region, and the height of the Mach surface for steady flowfields with a Mach number of 3.71 and a unit Reynolds number of 5.83×10/sup 6//m.

  • This study is concerned to the perforation phenomena of the oblique dual-plate by projectile. Experiment and simulation related to that was carried out. the variables considered in this phenomena include the electrolytic zinc coated steel sheet and carbon steel rod. In the former, the confirmation and projectile velocity possible phenomena of real phenomena is done, the latter, the effect of parameter such as time-step and grid space length is analized by using the three-dimensional Lagrangian explicit time-integration finite element code, HEMP. this code use the eight node hexahedral elements and in this study, Von-Mises Criteria is used as the strength model, Mie-Gruneisen is as the Equation of State. the simulation was performed by contrast with the experiment. through the calibration of the parameter of lagrangian code, reasonable result was approached.
