  • Let p be a prime number, $Q_{p}$ the field of p-adic numbers, K a finite extension of $Q_{p}$, $\bar{K}}$ a fixed algebraic closure of K and $C_{p}$ the completion of K with respect to the p-adic valuation. Let E be a closed subfield of $C_{p}$, containing K. Given elements $t_1$...,$t_{r}$ $\in$ E for which the field K($t_1$...,$t_{r}$) is dense in E, we construct integral bases of E over K.

  • Let K be a number field, $K_n$ its ray class field with conductor n and L a Galois extension of K containing $K_n$. We prove that $L/K_n$ has a relative integral basis (RIB) under certain simple condition. Also we reduce the problem of the existence of a RIB to a quadratic extension of $K_n$ under some condition.

  • We will introduce and study the notion of prime bases for weakly prime submodules and utilize them to derive some formulas on the weak radical of submodules of a module. In particular, we will show that every one dimensional integral domain weakly satisfies the radical formula and state some necessary conditions on local integral domains which are semi-compatible or satisfy the radical formula and also on Noetherian rings which weakly satisfy the radical formula.

  • A preconditioning algorithm is developed in this paper for the iterative solution of the linear system of equations resulting from the p-version boundary element approximation of the three dimensional integral equation with hypersingular operators. The preconditioner is derived by first making the nodal and side basis functions locally orthogonal to the element internal bases, and then by decoupling the nodal and side bases from the internal bases. Its implementation consists of solving a global problem on the wire-basket and a series of local problems defined on a single element. Moreover, the condition number of the preconditioned system is shown to be of order $O((1+ln/p)^{7})$. This technique can be applied to discretization with triangular elements and with general basis functions.

  • We discuss some conditions about the existence of the solution ø of the following integral equation ø(x) = λ∫h(2x-y)ø(y)dy and prove that the solution ø under certain condition generates a multiresolution analysis.

  • Many thermal-hydraulic tests have been conducted at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute for verification of the SMART (System-integrated Modular Advanced ReacTor) design, the standard design approval of which was issued by the Korean regulatory body. In this paper, the contributions of these tests to the standard design approval of SMART are discussed. First, an integral effect test facility named VISTA-ITL (Experimental Verification by Integral Simulation of Transients and Accidents-Integral Test Loop) has been utilized to assess the TASS/SMR-S (Transient and Set-point Simulation/Small and Medium) safety analysis code and confirm its conservatism, to support standard design approval, and to construct a database for the SMART design optimization. In addition, many separate effect tests have been performed. The reactor internal flow test has been conducted using the SCOP (SMART COre flow distribution and Pressure drop test) facility to evaluate the reactor internal flow and pressure distributions. An ECC (Emergency Core Coolant) performance test has been carried out using the SWAT (SMART ECC Water Asymmetric Two-phase choking test) facility to evaluate the safety injection performance and to validate the thermal-hydraulic model used in the safety analysis code. The Freon CHF (Critical Heat Flux) test has been performed using the FTHEL (Freon Thermal Hydraulic Experimental Loop) facility to construct a database from the $5{\times}5$ rod bundle Freon CHF tests and to evaluate the DNBR (Departure from Nucleate Boiling Ratio) model in the safety analysis and core design codes. These test results were used for standard design approval of SMART to verify its design bases, design tools, and analysis methodology.

  • Many of today´s robot are required to perform tasks which demand a high level of accuracy in end-effector positioning. Those rigid robots are very inefficient and slow because its have large and heavy links, In an attempt to solve these problems, a robots using flexible beam were created. But the single-link flexible beam is infinite-dimensional system. Many researchers have proposed controlling such a beam an approximated model consisting of a finite a number of models. In this paper, we start by deriving the analytic model for the dynamics of general single-link beam, and a controller is designed for flexible beam with integral type servo system bases of the linear matrix inequality (LM) technique. To the end, simulation results show that a designed controller guarantees affective vibration control the single-link flexible beam.

  • A thermal analysis was performed for the electromagnet which is installed in the control element drive mechanism(CEDM) of the integral reactor SMART. A model for the thermal analysis of the electromagnet was developed and theoretical bases for the model were established. It is important that the temperature of the electromagnet windings be maintained within the allowable limit of the insulation, since the electromagnet of CEDM is always supplied with current during the reactor operation. So the thermal analysis of the winding insulation which is composed of polyimide and air were performed by finite element method. The thermal properties obtained here will be used as input for the optimization analysis of the electromagnet.

  • Large concrete mass members are commonly used as matte bases for skyscrapers. In general, Integral casting is preferred to secure construction convenience and durability quality rather than separate casting. However, there is a possibility that cracks may occur in the early stages due to the generation of a lot of hydration heat, and thus durability will decrease, so it is necessary to determine an appropriate mixture and verify it through experiments. The purpose of the study was to conduct a review on the durability of the optimal high-performance low-heating concrete combination derived through the experiment and to conduct a review analysis on the performance satisfaction and performance expression mechanism.

  • CALS(Commerce At Light Speed) which originated in the early 1980's in the military sector is now an integral component in our global strategy to further heighten competitiveness. Through integration and streamlining of production, distribution, technical information and management, CALS will certainly lead the world out of these economically challenging times and into new global prosperity. However, not much effort have been focused on the development and diffusion issues of component technologies such as ERP/SCM(Enterprise Resourses Planning/supply Chain Management), PDM(Product Data Management), and BPR(Business Process Reengineering) related with the CALS in electronic industry. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the advancing status and to present suggestions for the development of the CALS in electronic industry. In order to achieve the purpose, the case study has been conducted using the questionaries on the end-users and the interviews on the managers in the CALS area. The case study cover 57 users of the CALS for the three outstanding electronics(L, S, and D Electronics) in Korea. The questionaries include five success measures and eleven diffusion factors for the component technologies such as ERP/SCM, PDM, and BPR. In summary, the CALS will serve as the bases for exciting corporated innovations and the common business framework which facilitates the realization of Virtual Enterprise and Electronic Commerce in the 21st century.
