RSA의 오일러 함수 𝜙(n) 해독 2kβ 알고리즘 (A 2kβ Algorithm for Euler function 𝜙(n) Decryption of RSA)

  • 대표적인 공개키 암호방식인 RSA에 사용되는 합성수 n=pq의 큰자리 소수 p,q를 소인수분해하여 구하는 것은 사실상 불가능하다. 공개키 e와 합성수 n은 알고 개인키 d를 모를 때, ${\phi}(n)=(p-1)(q-1)=n+1-(p+q)$을 구하여 $d=e^{-1}(mod{\phi}(n))$의 역함수로 개인키 d를 해독할수 있다. 따라서 ${\phi}(n)$을 알기위해 n으로부터 p,q를 구하는 수학적 난제인 소인수분해법을 적용하고 있다. 소인수분해법에는 n/p=q의 나눗셈 시행법보다는 $a^2{\equiv}b^2(mod\;n)$, a=(p+q)/2,b=(q-p)/2의 제곱합동법이 일반적으로 적용되고 있다. 그러나 다양한 제곱합동법이 존재함에도 불구하고 아직까지도 많은 RSA 수들이 해독되지 않고 있다. 본 논문은 ${\phi}(n)$을 직접 구하는 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안된 알고리즘은 $2^j{\equiv}{\beta}_j(mod\;n)$, $2^{{\gamma}-1}$ < n < $2^{\gamma}$, $j={\gamma}-1,{\gamma},{\gamma}+1$에 대해 $2^k{\beta}_j{\equiv}2^i(mod\;n)$, $0{\leq}i{\leq}{\gamma}-1$, $k=1,2,{\ldots}$ 또는 $2^k{\beta}_j=2{\beta}_j$${\phi}(n)$을 구하였다. 제안된 알고리즘은 $n-10{\lfloor}{\sqrt{n}}{\rfloor}$ < ${\phi}(n){\leq}n-2{\lfloor}{\sqrt{n}}{\rfloor}$의 임의의 위치에 존재하는 ${\phi}(n)$도 약 2배 차이의 수행횟수로 찾을 수 있었다.

A Proposal of the Olfactory Information Presentation Method and Its Application for Scent Generator Using Web Service

  • Among the human senses, olfactory information still does not have a proper data presentation method unlike that regarding vision and auditory information. It makes presenting the sense of smell into multimedia information impossible, which may be an exploratory field in human computer interaction. In this paper, we propose an olfactory information presentation method, which is a way to use smell as multimedia information, and show an application for scent generation and odor display using a web service. The olfactory information can present smell characteristics such as intensity, persistence, hedonic tone, and odor description. The structure of data format based on olfactory information can also be organized according to data types such as integer, float, char, string, and bitmap. Furthermore, it can be used for data transmitting via a web service and for odor display using a scent generator. The scent generator, which can display information of smell, is developed to generate 6 odors using 6 aroma solutions and a diluted solution with 14 micro-valves and a micropump. Throughout the experiment, we confirm that the remote user can grasp information of smell transmitted by messenger service and request odor display to the computer controlled scent generator. It contributes to enlarge existing virtual reality and to be proposed as a standard reference method regarding olfactory information presentation for future multimedia technology.

Optimal Dual Pricing and Passenger Safety Level for Cruise Revenue Management

  • Despite the remarkable continual growth of the world cruise industry, studies have yet to be attempted on many revenue management problems in cruise operations. This paper suggests two schemes that can be easily applied to cruise revenue management: optimal dual pricing and passenger safety level. In optimal dual pricing, a pair of higher and lower prices is applied to cabin reservation through market segmentation. This scheme can be executed with a linear price-response function for the current unreserved cabins. A cruise line could benefit from this scheme to maximize reservation revenue while attaining full occupancy. The dual pricing scheme is also devised to produce only integer demands to suit real management practices. The life boat capacity is an additional service capacity unique to the cruise industry, catering to passengers' safety. The concept of passenger safety level is defined and computed for any passenger life boat capacity of a cruise ship. It can be used to evaluate the passenger safety of a cruise ship in operation, as well as to determine the number of life boat seats required for a new cruise ship. Hypothetical examples are used to illustrate the operation of these two schemes.

트래픽 그루밍을 이용한 SONET/WDM 단방향, 양방향 링 네트워크의 경제성 분석 (Economic Analysis of SONET/WDM UPSR and BLSR Ring Networks Using Traffic Grooming)

  • We consider the traffic grooming problem for the design of SONET/WDM(Synchronous Optical NETwork/Wavelength Division Multiplexing) ring networks. Given a physical network with ring topology and a set of traffic demands between pairs of nodes, we are to obtain a stack of rings with the objective of minimizing the number of ADMs installed at the nodes. This problem arises when a single ring capacity is not large enough to accommodate all the demands. As a solution method, an efficient algorithm based on the branch-and-price approach has been reported in the literature for the problem in which only unidirecional path switched ring (UPSR) was considered. In this study, we suggest integer programming models and the algorithms based on the same approach as the above one, considering two-fiber bidirectional line switched ring(BLSR/2), and BLSR/4 additionally. Using the results, we compare the number of required ADMs for all types of the ring architecture.

  • The airport processes are restricted by some limits of performance objects as size of airport, ability of human resources, capacity of facilities and operational rules. These limitations make passenger handling difficult when passenger numbers increase. In order to solve this problem, we modeled the airport process and analyzed departure passenger arrival, scheduled security manpower under specific customer service level maintenance with mixed integer programming and validate the efficiency with simulation with adapting smart airport framework. We concluded that the airport management with information techniques can reduce waiting time within security and immigration process.

  • 마이크로프로세서에서 부동소수점 연산은 결과의 정확도를 높이기 위하여 실수형 데이터를 대상으로 시행하는 덧셈, 뺄셈, 곱셈, 나눗셈 등의 계산을 의미한다. 일반적으로 프로세서를 설계할 때는 복잡도 때문에 부동소수점 연산은 제외하고 정수형 연산만을 지원하는 경우가 많다. 그러나, 공학 기술 연산, 디지털 신호처리 뿐 만이 아니라, 오늘날 각광을 받고 있는 인공지능 및 신경망에 대한 연산을 수행하기 위하여 필요에 따라서 부동소수점 연산이 포함되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 VHDL을 이용하여 부동소수점 연산 명령어 기능을 갖는 32 비트 ARMv4 계열의 프로세서를 설계하고, ModelSim으로 검증하였다. 그 결과, ARM의 부동소수점 명령어에 대한 연산을 성공적으로 수행할 수 있었다.

광 가입자 망 진화를 위한 기술 경제성 평가 (A New Techno-Economic Modeling and Analysis for FTTH Optical Access Networks)

  • In this paper, we deal with a new techno-economic modeling and analysis for optical access networks. In deploying the fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) architecture, network planner needs to consider the following techno-economic issues: when do we need to upgrade existing local access network to FTTH network? how much do we invest to maximize profit? In order to answer these techno-economic questions, we need to consider the impact of emerging technologies and business environment. Toward this end, we develop a new techno-economic modeling to deal with the inherent complexity of technology evolution and cost economics. In particular, the new modeling approach provides us with an techno-economic analysis of technology alternatives such as ethernet passive optical network (E-PON) and wavelength division multiplex passive optical network (WDM-PON). In this analysis, we focus on the impact of critical factors such as the cost characteristic of proposed architecture and digital subscriber line (DSL) subscriber's churn-in to FTTH service and churn-out. We develop mixed integer-programming models for finding the evolution path of local access networks to broadband network architectures.

H.264 율제어 알고리듬의 하드웨어 설계 (A hardware design of Rate control algorithm for H.264)

  • 본 논문에서는 H.264 방식의 full HD실시간영상압축을 위한 율제어 모듈의 새로운 구조를 제안한다. 제안된 구조에서는 각 매크로블록 라인(full HD의 경우 120 매크로 블록, CIF 의 경우 22 매크로 블록)을 따라 율제어 알고리즘을 사용함으로서 QP 가 변경된다. JM의 H.264 율제어 알고리듬에는 복잡한 산술연산과 부동 소숫점 연산을 가지고 있기 때문에, 정수형 산술 CPU 를 통한 율제어 알고리듬의 구현은 불가능하다. 따라서 우리는 부동 소숫점 연산 유닛을 채용하고, 이 부동소숫점 연산 유닛을 이용하여, 율제어 알고리듬을 구현하였으며, 이 하드웨어를 통하여 실시간에 동작할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

An energy-efficiency approach for bidirectional amplified-and-forward relaying with asymmetric traffic in OFDM systems

  • Two-way relaying is an effective way of improving system spectral efficiency by making use of physical layer network coding. However, energy efficiency in OFDM-based bidirectional relaying with asymmetric traffic requirement has not been investigated. In this study, we focused on subcarrier transmission mode selection, bit loading, and power allocation in a multicarrier single amplified-and-forward relay system. In this scheme, each subcarrier can operate in two transmission modes: one-way relaying and two-way relaying. The problem is formulated as a mixed integer programming problem. We adopt a structural approximation optimization method that first decouples the original problem into two suboptimal problems with fixed subcarrier subsets and then finds the optimal subcarrier assignment subsets. Although the suboptimal problems are nonconvex, the results obtained for a single-tone system are used to transform them to convex problems. To find the optimal subcarrier assignment subsets, an iterative algorithm based on subcarrier ranking and matching is developed. Simulation results show that the proposed method can improve system performance compared with conventional methods. Some interesting insights are also obtained via simulation.

  • A CMOS phase-locked loop (PLL) which synthesizes frequencies between $6.336{\sim}8.976GHz$ in steps of 528MHz and settles in approximately 150ns using the 528MHz reference clock is presented. Frequency hopping between the bands in the each mode is critical point to design the PLL in multi-band orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) because frequency switching between each band is less than 9.5ns. To achieve the fast loop settling, integer-N PLL that operates with the high reference frequency to meet the settling requirement is implemented. Two PLLs that operate at 9GHz and 528MHz is integrated and shows the band hopping lower than 1ns.
