A Study on Scenario-based Web Application Security Education Method

  • Web application security education that can provide practical experience is needed to reduce damage caused by the recent increase in web application vulnerabilities and to strengthen security. In this paper, we proposed a scenario-based web application education method, applied the proposed method to classes, and analyzed the results. In order to increase the effectiveness of scenario-based education, a real-life practice environment to perform scenarios and instructions to be performed by learners are needed. As an example of the proposed method, instructions to be performed by learners from the viewpoint of the attacker and the victim were shown in a practice environment to teach XSS and SQL injection vulnerabilities. After applying the proposed method to the class for students majoring in cyber security, when the lecture evaluation results were analyzed, it was shown that the learner's interest, understanding, and major ability all improved.

A Study on the Use Behavior and Satisfaction of Home-baking Premix Products (홈베이킹 프리믹스 제품의 이용 실태 및 만족도에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the use behavior and satisfaction of home-baking premix products. A total of 275 questionnaires were completed and statistically analyzed by the SPSS 14.0 package. The reasons for home-baking were : fun(33.8%), quality time with the family(33.8%), and distrust in foodstuffs(13.5%). The respondents(38.9%) used home-baking premix products 2~3 times per year. And the respondents purchased home-baking premix products primarily for snack foods(83.3%). Among the selection attributes of home-baking premix products, the respondents considered the importance of 'sanitation'(m=4.16) a top priority, followed by 'taste'(m=4.15), 'ease of use'(m=4.12), 'detailed instructions' (m=4.05), 'quality of raw materials'(m=4.04), and 'origin'(m=3.91). However, in the case of satisfaction, 'ease of use' (m=3.81) was the most satisfying aspect, followed by 'detailed instructions'(m=3.67), 'sanitation'(m=3.56) and 'manufacturer' (m=3.48). According to importance-performance analysis(IPA), 'quality of raw materials' and 'origin', which were selection attributes, should be quickly improved. Also, 'taste', 'ease of use', 'detailed instructions' and 'sanitation' should be maintained. This survey found that the satisfaction levels for home-baking premix product selection attributes had a significant influence on overall satisfaction($F$=7.91, $p$ <0.001). In particular taste(${\beta}$=0.32, $t$=3.53, $p$ <0.001) had a meaningful effect on overall satisfaction. In addition, the satisfaction levels for home-baking premix product selection attributes affected repurchase intention($F$=8.61, $p$ <0.001).

Improving the speed of deep neural networks using the multi-core and single instruction multiple data technology (다중 코어 및 single instruction multiple data 기술을 이용한 심층 신경망 속도 향상)

  • In this paper, we propose optimization methods for speeding the feedforward network of deep neural networks using NEON SIMD (Single Instruction Multiple Data) parallel instructions and multi-core parallelization on the multi-core ARM processor. As the result of the optimization using SIMD parallel instructions, we present the amount of speed improvement and arithmetic precision stage by stage. Through the optimization using SIMD parallel instructions on the single core, we obtain $2.6{\times}$ speedup over the baseline implementation using C compiler. Furthermore, by parallelizing the single core implementation on the multi-core, we obtain $5.7{\times}{\sim}7.7{\times}$ speedup. The results we obtain show the possibility for applying the arithmetic-intensive deep neural network technology to applications on mobile devices.

The Effects of Instruction Material Using ICT at Elementary School Science (초등학교 과학 수업에서 ICT 활용 수업자료의 효과)

  • This study investigated the effects of the application of a variety of ICT (Information communication Technology) cause the effects on self-directed learning characteristics, creativity and science achievement. In order to achieve the above aim, WBI (Web-Based Instructions), instructions using CD-ROM Titles and Instruction Module Using ICT for the unit were applied and analyzed which belongs to the area of 'the earth' in the subject 'science' for Elementary school students. Instructions using WBI materials, CD-ROM titles and Instruction Module Using ICT were found to be effective on 'science achievement', 'self-directed learning characteristics' and 'creativity'. They show meaningful effect on improving 'science achievement', 'self-directed learning characteristics' and 'creativity'. WBI proved more fruitful than instruction using CO-ROM titles, Instruction Module Using ICT on improving self-directed learning characteristics. Instruction Module Using ICT proved more fruitful than instruction using CD-ROM title, WBI on improving creativity.

Design of a scalable general-purpose parallel associative processor using content-addressable memory (Content-Addressable Memory를 이용한 확장 가능한 범용 병렬 Associative Processor 설계)

  • Von Neumann architecture suffers from the interface between the central processing unit and the memory, which is called 'Von Neumann bottleneck' In this paper, we propose a scalable general-purpose associative processor (AP) based on content-addressable memory (CAM) which solves this problem and is suitable for the search-oriented applications. We propose an efficient instruction set and a structural scalability to extend for larger applications. We define twelve instructions and provide some reduced instructions to speed up which execute two instructions in a single instruction cycle. The proposed AP performs in a bit-serial, word-parallel fashion and can be considered as a 32-bit general-purpose parallel processor with a massively parallel SIMD structure. We design and simulate a maximum/minumum search greater-than/less-than search, and parallel addition to verify the proposed architecture. The algorithms are executed in a constant time O(k) regardless of the number of input data.

  • Even though 32-bit ISA based microprocessors are widely used more and more, 16-bit ISA based processors are still being frequently employed for embedded systems. Intel 8086, 80286, Motorola 68000, and ADChips AE32000 are the representatives of the 16-bit ISA based processors. However, due to less expressiveness of the 16-bit ISA from its narrow bit width, we need to execute more 16-bit instructions for the same implementation compared to 32-bit instructions. Because the number of executed instructions is a very important factor in performance, we have to resolve the problem by improving the expressiveness of the 16-bit ISA. In this paper, we propose a new pair register allocation algorithm to enhance an original graph-coloring based register allocation algorithm. Also, we explain about both the performance result and further research directions.

Motion Estimation Specific Instructions and Their Hardware Architecture for ASIP (ASIP을 위한 움직임 추정 전용 연산기 구조 및 명령어 설계)

  • This paper presents an ASIP (Application-specific Instruction Processor) for motion estimation that employs specific IME instructions and its programmable and reconfigurable hardware architecture for various video codecs, such as H.264/AVC, MPEG4, etc. With the proposed specific instructions and hardware accelerator, it can handle the real-time processing requirement of High Definition (HD) video. With the parallel operations and SAD unit control using pattern information, the proposed IME instruction supports not only full search algorithm but also other fast search algorithms. The hardware size is 77K gates for each Processing Element Group (PEG) which has 256 SAD PEs. The proposed ASIP runs at 160MHz with sixteen PEGs and it can handle 1080p@30 frame in real time.

A Design and Verification of an Efficient Control Unit for Optical Processor (광프로세서를 위한 효율적인 제어회로 설계 및 검증)

  • This paper presents design andd verification of a circuit that improves the control-operation problems of Stored Program Optical Computer (SPOC), which is an optical computer using $LiNbO_3$ optical switching element. Since the memory of SPOC takes the Delay Line Memory (DLM) architecture and instructions that are needless of operands should go though memory access stages, SPOC memory have problems; it takes immoderate access time and unnecessary operations are executed in Arithmetic Logical Unit (ALU) because desired operations can't be selectively executed. In this paper, improvement on circuit has been achieved by removing the memory access of instructions that are needless of operands by decoding instructions before locating operand. Unnecessary operations have been reduced by sending operands to some specific operational units, not to all the operational units in ALD. We show that total execution time of a program is minimized by using the Dual Instruction Register(DIR) architecture.

  • SMT(Simultaneous Multi Threading) architecture uses TLP(Thread Level Parallelism) and increases processor throughput, such that issue slots can be filled with instructions from multiple independent threads. Having multiple ready threads reduces the probability that a functional unit is left idle, which increases processor efficiency. To utilize those advantages for the SMT processors, the issue unit must control the flow of instructions from different threads and not create conflicts among those instructions, which make the SMT issue logic extremely complex. Therefore, our SMT architecture, which is modeled in this paper, uses an in-order-issue and completion scheme, and therefore, can use a simple issue mechanism with a scoreboard already instead of using register renaming or a reorder buffer. However, an SMT scoreboarding mechanism is still more complex and costlier than that of a single threaded conventional processor. This paper proposes an optimal implementation of a scoreboarding mechanism for an ARM-based SMT architecture.

A New Asynchronous Pipeline Architecture for CISC type Embedded Micro-Controller, A8051 (CISC 임베디드 컨트롤러를 위한 새로운 비동기 파이프라인 아키텍쳐, A8051)

  • The asynchronous design methods proved to have the higher performance in power consumption and execution speed than synchronous ones because it just needs to activate the required module without feeding clock in the system. Despite the advantage of CISC machine providing the variable addressing modes and instructions, its execution scheme is hardly suited for a synchronous Pipeline architecture and incurs a lot of overhead. This paper proposes a novel asynchronous pipeline architecture, A80sl, whose instruction set is fully compatible with that of Intel 80C51, an embedded micro controller. We classify the instructions into the group keeping the same execution scheme for the asynchronous pipeline and optimize it eliminating the bubble stage that comes from the overhead of the multi-cycle execution. The new methodologies for branch and various instruction lengths are suggested to minimize the number of states required for instructions execution and to increase its parallelism. The proposed A80C51 architecture is synthesized with 0.35${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ CMOS standard cell library. The simulation results show higher speed than that of Intel 80C51 with 36 MHz and other asynchronous counterparts by 24 times.
