This study particularly looked at educational philosophy and content of Design Academy Eindhoven in Holland which provides multidisciplinary design education. For it might be important data for examining the educational substance and directivity in design that help construct education system in design for a new era among the varying design paradigm. The biggest feature of DAE education system designed for students to optimize their ability with systematic education of 8 contexts with 4 approaches through innovative specialty system. Besides, their interaction helps students major in what is individual specialty. Most of all, the study on the contents of DAE's multidisciplinary education is expected to be significant data for our design education that lacks integrative perspective in the respect that students might be able to develop their identity as an individual designer in changing society beyond the mere technical and formative level of design.
In highly informative, perception-rich environments that we call Omniscient Spaces, robots interact with physical objects which in turn afford robots the information showing how the objects should be manipulated. Object manipulation is commonly believed one of the most basic tasks in robot applications. However, no approaches including visual servoing seem satisfactory in unstructured environments such as our everyday life. Thus, in Omniscient Spaces, the features of the environments embed themselves in every entity, allowing robots to easily identify and manipulate unknown objects. To achieve this end, we propose a new paradigm of the interaction through Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). The aim of this paper is to learn about RFID and investigate how it works in object manipulation. Specifically, as an innovative trial for autonomous, real-time manipulation, a likely mobile robot equipped with an RFID system is developed. Details on the experiments are described together with some preliminary results.
Defending society against rapidly evolving types of warfare, such as asymmetric warfare, will remain a challenge, at least through the first half of the 21st century. Technology will continue to play a major role in these efforts, and society must develop appropriate innovative theoretical, numerical, and experimental approaches that will lead to a wide range of solutions. This paper is aimed at highlighting challenges that must be overcome to achieve the required objectives.
As the interest on the air pollution is gradually rising up at home and abroad, automotive industries have been working on the exhaust emission reduction from vehicles through a lot of approaches, which consist of new engine design, innovative aftertreatment systems, and using clean fuels. Methanol, ethanol, LNG, LPG, H2, reformulated gasoline are generally recognized as the clean fuel. Since the low price policy of government on LPG has expanded its vehicle market recently, there is concern of the exhaust emission of LPG vehicle. In this paper, we studied the value of LPG fuel as a clean fuel by comparing the results of the exhaust emission from LPG and Gasoline fueled vehicles, and discussed its limitation of LPG vehicle with mixer type as a fuel supply system. FTIR was used to understand the difference of exhaust emission components of LPG and Gasoline fueled vehicles.
Heart rate variability (HRV) in electrocardiogram (ECG) is an important index for understanding the health status of heart and the autonomic nervous system. Most HRV analysis approaches are based on the proper heart rate (HR) data. Estimation of heart rate is thus a key process in the HRV study. In this paper, we report an innovative method to estimate the heart rate. This method is mainly based on the concept of periodicity transform (PT) and instantaneous period (IP) estimate. The method presented is accordingly called the "PT-IP method." It does not require ECG R-wave detection and thus possesses robust noise-immune capability. While the noise contamination, ECG time-varying morphology, and subjects' physiological variations make the R-wave detection a difficult task, this method can help us effectively estimate HR for medical research and clinical diagnosis. The results of estimating HR from empirical ECG data verify the efficacy and reliability of the proposed method.
Presently, there has been growing interests in using mathematics' history in teaching mathematics [Katz, V. & Tzanakis, C. (Eds.) (2011). Recent Developments on Introducing a Historical Dimension in Mathematics Education. Washington, DC: Mathematical Association of America]. Thus, this article introduces some work of scholars from ancient East Indian culture like Bhaskara (AD 1114-1185) and Arabic culture such as Ibn Qurrah (AD 9th c) that are related to Pythagoras Theorem. In addition, some Babylonian creative works related to Pythagorean triples found in a tablet known as 'Plimpton 322', and an application of the Pythagorean Theorem found in another tablet named 'Yale Tablet' are presented. Applications of computer animation of dissection Motion Operations concept in 2D and 3D using dynamic software like Geometer's-Sketchpad and Cabri-II-and-3D. Nowadays, creative minds are attracted by the recent stampede in the advances of technological applications in visual literacy; consequently, innovative environments that would help young students, gifted or not, acquiring meaningful conceptual understanding would immerge.
There were a lot of challenges to reform mathematics education. These challenges may include reforms of teaching and learning methods, development of mathematics curriculum and textbooks, innovative resources for teaching mathematics. Although there is considerable consensus that meeting these challenges will require that mathematics teachers have deep insights about mathematics, about students as learners of mathematics, and about teaching method, the teachers themselves may have little knowledge of them. The most of the professional development includes elective participation in reeducation course, workshop, and special lectures which designed to transmit a specific set of ideas, techniques, or materials to teachers. But such approaches treat mathematics teaching as routine and technical, and also provide limited opportunities for meaningful interactions within the teaching community. So, this paper suggests that what is needed to develop professional teachers of mathematics is community where teachers work with colleagues rather than working alone.

In this article, a homotopy perturbation transform method (HPTM) and the Laplace transform combined with Taylor expansion method are presented for solving Volterra integral equations with a convolution kernel. The (HPTM) is innovative in Laplace transform algorithm and makes the calculation much simpler while in the Laplace transform and Taylor expansion method we first convert the integral equation to an algebraic equation using Laplace transform then we find its numerical inversion by power series. The numerical solution obtained by the proposed methods indicate that the approaches are easy computationally and its implementation very attractive. The methods are described and numerical examples are given to illustrate its accuracy and stability.
The removal capacity of zero-valent iron for Cr(Ⅵ) was evaluated using batch kinetic tests. The rate constants for zero-valent iron dramatically increased as initial Cr(Ⅵ) concentration decreased. Generally, the reaction rates of Cr(Ⅵ) with zero-valent iron were faster than that of a biotic degradation of Cr(Ⅵ), and furthermore the reaction rates were inversely proportional to the initial Cr(Ⅵ) concentrations. After certain reaction time elapsed. no further decrease of Cr(Ⅵ) was observed, indicating a loss of iron reactivity. The loss of iron reactivity was primarily due to the passivation of iron surfaces with iron-Cr precipitates, but the reactivity of iron was recovered by adding iron-reducing bacteria. Even though the addition of bacteria itself removed Cr(Ⅵ), the combination of iron-reducing bactera and oxidized iron significantly enhanced the reaction rate for Cr(Ⅵ) removal. The results from column tests also confirmed that the innoculation of iron-reducing bacteria to the column containing completely oxidized iron partially enhanced the recovery of the iron reactivity.

With the growing shift from traditional educational approaches and studying to the more digital classroom, using electronic textbooks and digital native's demand, there is a growing need to develop new methods for learn Kanji characters for children. The purpose of this study is to help children learn the basic Kanji by using stop motion and block methods, and approaching the basic Kanji character education with a more innovative and interactive smart phone APP. In the development of this smart phone App for children's Kanji character education proposed in this study, 100 basic Kanji characters for children are selected. These 100 characters are required for the stop motion animation production, where each selected Kanji is created as a stop-motion animation utilizing a variety of techniques, such as storytelling, to better engage children. The intelligent App is designed with image recognition technology, so that in the learning process children take a picture for the assembled block using their smart phone, the APP then recognizes whether it is assembled correctly, and then plays an animation corresponding to the assembled Kanji character.
