In switching from the track-seeking or track-jumping control mode to track-following control mode in hard disk drives or optical disk drives, initial values of the feedback controller are tuned to improve the transient response. In general, all the initial values of the controller have been compensated for this purpose. In this paper, by partially compensating initial values of digital controllers, we achieve a good performance of the transient response. In the proposed method for IVC (Intial Value Compensation), LMIs (Linear Matrix Inequalities) are used, which includes conditions for improving the performance of the transient response such as reducing a tracking error and control efforts. We obtain optimal initial values of the controller by solving an optimization problem with constraints represented by only one LMI. Although initial values of the controller are partially compensated, we can show that not only a sufficient performance of the transient response is obtained but also control efforts are diminished. The feasibility of the method is verified by simulation studies.
This paper presents an optimal initial firing angle control based on the energy consumption and regenerative energy of a parallel multi-pulse thyristor dual converter for urban railway power substations. To prevent short circuiting the thyristor dual converter, a hysteresis band for maintaining a zero-current discontinuous section (ZCDS) is essential during mode changes. During conversion from the ZCDS to forward or reverse mode, the DC trolley voltage can be stabilized by selecting the optimal initial firing angle without an overshoot and slow response. However, the optimal initial firing angle is different depending on the line impedance of each converter. Therefore, the control algorithm for tracking the optimal initial firing angle is proposed to eliminate the overshoot and slow response of DC trolley voltage. Simulations and experiments show that the proposed algorithm yields the fastest DC voltage control performance in the transient state by tracking the optimal firing angle.
In general, the thrust vector control should be fast and stable in the initial launch phase. Two types of conventional controllers, one is for pitch angle control and the other is for pitch rate control, are designed based on the equation of motion without aerodynamics and are compared in the viewpoints of the stability margin and the time response performance. Also analyzed are the rejection capabilities to cope with high aerodynamic disturbances caused by high angle of attacks in initial booting phase. Additionally, time response features at actuator saturation are investigated. Based on those results, we suggest a controller structure which is more suitable for thrust vector control of missiles at initial booting phase.
In this paper a second-order iterative learning control algorithm with feedback is proposed for the trajectory-tracking control of nonlinear dynamic systems with unidentified parameters. In contrast to other known methods, the proposed teaming control scheme utilize more than one past error history contained in the trajectories generated at prior iterations, and a feedback term is added in the learning control scheme for the enhancement of convergence speed and robustness to disturbances or system parameter variations. The convergence proof of the proposed algorithm is given in detail, and the sufficient condition for the convergence of the algorithm is provided. We also discuss the convergence performance of the algorithm when the initial condition at the beginning of each iteration differs from the previous value of the initial condition. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is shown by computer simulation result. It is shown that, by adding a feedback term in teaming control algorithm, convergence speed, robustness to disturbances and robustness to unmatched initial conditions can be improved.
In this paper, the initial pole-position estimation of a surface (non-salient) permanent magnet synchronous motor is mathematically analyzed and surveyed on the basis of simulation analysis, and developed for accurate servo motor drive. This algorithm is well carried out under the full closed-loop position control without any pole sensors and is completely insensitive to any motor parameters. This estimation is based on the principle that the initial pole-position is simply calculated by the reverse trigonometric function using the two feedback currents in the full closed-loop position control. The proposed algorithm consists of the predefined reference position profile, the information of feedback currents, speed, and relative position, and the reverse trigonometric function for the initial-pole position estimation. Comparing with the existing researches, the mathematical analysis is introduced to get a more accurate initial pole-position of the surface permanent magnet motor under the closed-loop position control. It is found that the proposed algorithm can be easily applied in servo drive applications because it satisfies the following user's specifications; accuracy and moving distance.
This study proposes compensation methods for the initial position error and torque ripple in vector control of two-phase hybrid stepping motors. Stepping motors have an asymmetrical structure due to misalignment, such as the eccentricity generated by the manufacturing and assembly process. When vector control is applied using the position information measured by an incremental encoder attached to the rotor shaft of such stepping motors, the following problems occur. First, an initial position error occurs during the forced excitation process for the initial rotor position alignment. Second, torque ripple corresponding to the mechanical rotation frequency is generated. In this study, these non-ideal phenomena that occur in vector control of the stepping motor are analyzed, and compensation methods are proposed to eliminate them. The validity of the proposed initial position error and torque ripple compensation methods is verified through experiments on a two-phase hybrid stepping motor drive system.
Complex Products may present more than one type of defects and these defects are not always of equal severity. These defects are classified according to their seriousness and effect on product quality and performance. Demerit systems are very effective systems to monitoring the different types of defects. So, classical demerit control chart used to monitor counts of several different types of defects simultaneously in complex products. S.M. Na et al.(2003) proposed the Demerit-CUSUM for the improvement of the demerit control chart performance and Nembhard, D. A. et al.(2001) and G.Y Cho et al.(2004) developed a Demerit control chart using the EWMA technique and evaluated the performance of the control chart. In this paper, we present an effective method for process control using the Demerit-CUSUM with fast initial response. Moreover, we evaluate exact performance of the Demerit-CUSUM control chart with fast initial response, Demerit-CUSUM and Demerit-EWMA according to changing sample size or parameters.
SCTP(stream control transmission protocol)는 데이터 전송을 위한 전송 계층 프로토콜로서, 많은 부분에서 TCP(transmission control protocol) 방식을 따른다.
This paper considers the many kinds of attitude control systems including launcher. JVC(Jet vane control), Jet tap, Jetvator and Movable nozzles are used to control the initial attitude of a missile only. Recently side jet thruster and it's applications to control initial turn and to maneuver at high altitude have been increased. How to design and develop the missile for an initial turn and a high maneuver at high altitude using side jet thrust were described in this paper.
