  • Purpose - As the competition in the foodservice franchise industry and the market becomes fierce and the entry barrier is lowered, the foodservice franchisor and franchisees strive to increase their competitive advantage in the market. Therefore, the franchisor and franchisees use experience management strategies to enhance the positive experiences of customers visiting the stores. In this regard, this study examines the effects of customer-oriented activities (physical-, social-, health-, and service-oriented activities) on utilitarian and hedonic values, and loyalty using stimulus-organism-response (S-O-R) model and value-expectancy theory. Research design, data, methodology - The data were collected from panels of online survey company, who visited a foodservice franchisee within last month. The survey was conducted for about 15 days from March 7, 2019 to March 21, 2019, and about 3,500 e-mails and messages were distributed to ask for the survey. A total 412 responded and completed the questionnaires. Of the 412 completed questionaires, 12 were discarded due to missing and misinformation data and 400 were retained for further data analysis. Results --The results showed that social oriented activities, health oriented activities, and service oriented activities had positive effects on hedonic value, while physical oriented activities did not have a significant effect on hedonic value. Health oriented activities and service oriented activities had positive effects on utilitarian value, while physical oriented activities and social oriented activities had no significant effects on utilitarian value. Hedonic and utilitarian values also have a positive effect on loyalty. Conclusions - First, food service franchises should provide services and menus in consideration of the health of customers. When a customer visits the store, franchisee should provide more health-oriented food or materials and clean and comfortable conditions so as not to threaten the health of the customer. Second, the food service franchise must build a service-oriented system. Foodservice franchisor need to provide continuous service training not only to the franchisees, but also to the employees of the franchisees. • Recently, due to the popularity of object-oriented programming languages, object-oriented modeling and development methodologies become widely applied to information system development. When object-oriented methodology is adopted, using object-oriented modeling languages for business analysis and redesign has the advantages such that business modeling results can be easily understood and referred by information system developers. In this paper, UML-B, Unified Modeling Language extension for Business modeling is proposed, which uses UML notation for modeling organization structure, actors, use cases, business processes, and entities in business systems. It also utilizes extension mechanisms of UML to facilitate business modeling activities, and supports business process reengineering with object-oriented modeling.

  • The objective of this study was to identify differences between internet fashion shoppers and non-shoppers in their fashion shopping orientation and attitude toward internet shopping site service. Also behavior of internet shoppers and non-shoppers was compared by gender. Twelve hundred and ninety two responses were obtained from an online survey. 20 items were used to measure shopping orientation and 13 items to measure attitude toward internet shopping site service, which were modified from previous studies. Some demographics and internet familiarity were asked. Factor analysis, t-test, chi-square test, and regression were conducted. Factor analysis produced five fashion shopping orientation factors such as fashion oriented, shopping oriented, brand oriented, personality oriented, and value oriented. Attitude toward internet shopping site service were classified into three factors, at-site service, after purchasing service, and product information. Internet fashion shoppers and non-shoppers were significantly different in most items of shopping orientation and attitude toward internet site service. Internet shoppers were likely to be fashion oriented, to enjoy shopping, to pursue brandname and personality, and to concern price more than non-shoppers were. Internet shoppers also had more favorable attitude toward product information and at-site service. Also, shoppers were more familiar than non-shoppers to the internet in terms of duration of web-browsing. Ratio of men and women differed significantly for shopper vs. non-shopper groups. Female shoppers were likely to be more fashion, shopping. and value oriented but to have less favorable attitude for after purchasing service than male shoppers.

  • This study aims to analyse the necessity of the subject heading construction for the word based classification and to suggest a methodology that uses various knowledge organization systems(KOS). For this purpose, six kinds of KOS were collected for the 20 selected works in each subject. The collected subjects were analysed in terms of constructing a subject heading for the word based classification. The result of the analysis shows that there is a noticeable difference between the library oriented KOS and commercial oriented KOS. In addition, user oriented tags are more similar to the commercial sector's concerning subject categorization than the library oriented ones. However, there is no noticeable difference among the library oriented KOS, commercial sector oriented KOS, and user oriented tags regarding the subject vocabulary. Some practical implications were suggested for the application to the Korean libraries based on the findings of this study.

  • The present writers have raised some basic questions related to writing. Do the theses produced in the library and information science field tell our story\ulcorner Are they field-oriented\ulcorner Are they easy to be read and to be a n.0, pplied by the librarians\ulcorner Problems in writing include research theme, research method and writing style. The present writers have a n.0, pplied phenomenological a n.0, pproach to these problems, using the observation of 'Co-workers Team' and interpretation of the 'Term Paper Collection'(vol.1-vol.5). Co-workers Team members consist of professors and graduate students in the Department of Library, Archives and Information Studies of the Pusan National University. We have made some proposals in this paper: First, we should not talk about American story. We should talk about our own story, and go back to basic themes. This proposal is related to the innovation of research theme. Second, qualitative research method should be introduced extensively in library and information science. Third, the strict 'thesis-oriented' and 'text-oriented' writing style should be overcome. The prevalent writing style in our field is so uniform that they are not capable of describing the intricate problems like "our living library".ary".uot;.

  • In manufacturing companies, engineering information is a central data which defines a product to be produced. This is changed by various factors such as changes of product configuration, changes of drawings information of a technology's licensor, etc, and these changes essentially accompany the changes of a product BOM (Bill of Materials) structure. Thus, engineering changes gives a heavy burden to information management within enterprise because the changes of product BOM have an influence on each departmental BOM such as a procurement BOM, a manufacturing BOM, a quotation BOM, etc. Especially, these changes of product BOM due to the engineering changes is inevitably and frequently happened by a customer's requirements in a customer-oriented make-to-order manufacturing environments. In these manufacturing environments, information gap among each department from the first contact point of customer to engineering, materials, production, quality, and management is very close, and thus it is very important that the change information of product BOM due to changes of product specification and engineering information are efficiently communicated among each department. This paper describes a procedure of determining product specification and of generating product BOM, and proposes an efficient management scheme for the change process of product BOM information due to changes of product specification and engineering. Also, to show the effectiveness of the proposed product BOM management scheme, a product BOM management system is implemented for the ship engine division of 'H' company, one of customer-oriented make-to-order manufacturing enterprises.

  • The objectives of this paper are to measure surface imperviousness using three different classification methods: per-pixel, sub-pixel, and object-oriented classification. They are tested on high-spatial resolution QuickBird data at 2.4 meters (four spectral bands and three principal component bands) as well as a medium-spatial resolution Landsat TM image at 30 meters. To measure impervious surfaces, we selected 30 sample sites with different land uses and residential densities across image representing the city of Phoenix, Arizona, USA. For per-pixel an unsupervised classification is first conducted to provide prior knowledge on the possible candidate spectral classes, and then a supervised classification is performed using the maximum-likelihood rule. For sub-pixel classification, a Linear Spectral Mixture Analysis (LSMA) is used to disentangle land cover information from mixed pixels. For object-oriented classification several different sets of scale parameters and expert decision rules are implemented, including a nearest neighbor classifier. The results from these three methods show that the object-oriented approach (accuracy of 91%) provides more accurate results than those achieved by per-pixel algorithm (accuracy of 67% and 83% using Landsat TM and QuickBird, respectively). It is also clear that sub-pixel algorithm gives more accurate results (accuracy of 87%) in case of intensive and dense urban areas using medium-resolution imagery.
