Optical Design of an Image-space Telecentric Two-mirror System for Wide-field Line Imaging

  • We present a new design approach and an example design for an image-space telecentric two-mirror system that has a fast f-number and a wide-field line image. The initial design of the telecentric mirror system is a conventional axially symmetric system, consisting of a flat primary mirror with fourth-order aspheric deformation and an oblate ellipsoidal secondary mirror to correct spherical aberration, coma, and field curvature. Even though in the optimized design the primary mirror is tilted, to avoid ray obstruction by the secondary mirror, the image-space telecentric two-mirror system shows quite good imaging performance, for a line imager.

  • The objective of this paper is to provide a model for effective implementation of costing RAM management in the design and procurement of production facility considering the system cost-performance trade-off. This research proposes a two-step approach of costing RAM design and test of system RAM for production facility. In Step 1, a static model is proposed to find an initial system configuration to meet the required performance based on system RAM and LCC and analyzes the trade-off relationships between various factors of RAM and LCC. In the second Step, we developed time and failure truncated models for system reliability test and analysis. For the computational purpose, we developed computer programs and have shown the sample results. By the sample test run, the proposed model has shown the possibilities to provide a good method to analyze system performance evaluation for both design and operational phase, This model can be applied to a wide variety of systems not only for costing RAM of the production facilities but also for the other kinds of equipment.

  • Augmented Reality (AR) enables the enhanced realism and interaction by providing the overlaid digital information on the user's view of the physical world. In this paper, we propose an AR-based ship design visualization system for presenting ship 3D model in smart phones or table PCs. The proposed system compute corner points and feature points by contour finding method and harris corner detector, and build a ship-design drawing database. By using SURF algorithm, key feature points are extracted from ship-design drawing image which is obtained by mobile camera. Then ship-design drawing image is recognized by matching the feature points stored in DB and extracted key feature points. 3D ship structures are visualized by overlaying the ship-design drawing image on the smart phone or table PC's screen. Compared to conventional 2D ship-design, proposed system helps to easily understand the structures of the ship and reduce the business design period. Thus, Enhanced competitiveness of business is expected.

  • As recent multilateral collaboration design system has been advanced, BIM based data exchange is a key factor for successful next generation building project. Even though many studies have been trying to set up a data compatibility system for collaboration, There are still a lot of problem in data exchange between design and engineering phase. Therefore, In this study, we analysis causes of problem for information exchange and suggest a IFC based Information exchange framework for improving BIM based design collaboration environment. In order to find out problems that hinder establishment of advanced open BIM information exchange, proper analysis about transition of process from current and to-be BIM based design collaboration process is important, at first. From analysis of main obstacles to information exchange, this research suggests solution plan using open API and IFC based BIM collaboration supporting system. The suggested open API solution named Integrity feedback system perform a role making up for weak point derived from IFC based data exchange. And main system suggestion about framework for IFC based information exchange reflect technological system support, requirement of function for collaboration including API/BCF plug-in.

  • The harness design process consists of repetitious routines to decide the wire configuration in its interior. A slight change in one of the wire's configuration will require a total reconfiguration of the entire wire system. Therefore, the harness design is extremely time consuming and is vulnerable to human errors by an engineer. Based on both electrical and mechanical area, Wiring Harness system is in complicated area. Existing systems are, therefore, not exactly suitable for practical use. This paper presents a novel framework for ameliorating existing system's defects. In this paper, Visio and Visual Basic was interfaced to process wire bundle information and wire bundle location to alleviate problems mentioned beforehand concerning harness design; at the same time developing the automation of the entire design process based on the feature based design method, optional print, and management of documents for reuse.

  • 본 논문에서는 개방형 교육시스템 학습모형을 적용한 디자인 패턴 교육을 위한 개방형 교육 시스템을 통한 학습을 제안한다. 소프트웨어 디자인 패턴은 정형화된 답이 없으며 상황에 따라 유동적으로 사용되지만, 기존의 디자인 패턴 온라인 교육 시스템은 일방적으로 이루어져 있고 시중에 판매되는 책을 통해 디자인 패턴을 이해하기에는 어려운 부분이 많이 존재한다. 따라서 이러한 문제를 해결하고자 디자인 패턴 교육을 위한 개방형 교육 시스템을 제안한다. 디자인 패턴의 개념과 사례를 통해 기본적인 지식을 습득하고 디자인 패턴의 퀴즈와 실습을 해 이해도를 높인다. 또한, 일방적인 학습이 아닌 사용자들 간의 토론을 통해 한 방향에서 디자인 패턴을 보는 것이 아닌 다양한 시점에서 볼 수 있어 창의력도 함께 증진할 수 있다.

  • The development of "Ship structural CAD system" has been performed in CSDP(Computerized Ship Design and Production) project to support ship structural design works. The procedures and contents of current design practice concerning the ship structural design were analyzed. To generate design information required at each design stage using the ship structural CAD system, the computerized model was created. To represent and implement the model information, a data structure which represents design concept as well as shape information was proposed using the concept of the product model. To embody the computerized model the object-oriented techniques were established to represent requirements of real world.

  • Recently, not only marine PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system but also an effective outfitting BOM (Bill of Material) management has been attracted by many shipyards. In particular, efficient outfitting design is being one of major issues in shipyards since most of currently designed marine vessels have more complex outfitting system than ever. Furthermore, each outfitting system has huge number of parts that should be arranged based upon the procurement and installation plan. Outfitting BOMs evolve into different forms according to the product development phases during basic design; detail design; and production design. Therefore, it is very difficult to maintain a consistent BOM data during the design phases. In order to express the evolution of product structures and the information of outfitting along the ship design, we suggested UID (Unique ID) code system. The UID (Unique ID) is used in order to create the relationship within evolutional BOMs of each design stage. It utilizes as the procedure of weight calculation for procurement BOM during each design stage. Thereafter, in order to demonstrate suggested outfitting BOM management technique, we suggested a prototype. In the prototype system, suggested features of outfitting BOM are implemented.

  • This paper proposed modelling and design method in suspension system design to analyze active suspension equipment by adopting active robust control theory. Recent in the field of suspension system design it is general to adopt active control scheme for stiffness and damping, and connection with other vehicle stability control equipment is also intricate, it is required for control system scheme to design more robust, higher response and precision control equipment. It is known that active suspension system is better than passive spring-damper system in designing suspension equipment. We analyze suspension system with considering location of front-rear wheel and driving velocity, then design control system. Numerical example is shown for validity of robust control system design in active suspension system.
