The purpose of this study is to develope a model for an integrated national management system of information services in the science, technology and industry sectors by assigning major roles to KISTI which was set up by the merge of KINITI and KORDIC. In order to determine these roles, this study investigates the characteristics and significance of national information services in the science, technology and industry sectors, and analyzes the functions and problems of KISTI and the other information service institutes in Korea.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a technology that connects to the Internet with built-in sensors and communication functions on various objects and has been used in various fields such as smart home and smart factory. Recently, as interest in air pollution information such as fine dust is increasing, the apps for providing weather information and air pollution information based on IoT technology are being developed. In this study, we aims to provide visual air pollution and weather information and develop useful services such as appliance automation using this information. for this study, we designed and implemented Smart Services that provide home automation, messaging and alarm, visual air pollution and weather information using air pollution and weather information based on IoT.

There has been low use of local information services that public libraries provide, and most of those services are limited only through in-house reading or checkout. Motivated by these issues, the study has developed a mobile application (app, hereafter) entitled as LibPass (a combination of Library and Pass) to propose new local information services that reflect the information needs of users. Regarding the design of LibPass, contents of LibPass are composed of the characteristics of local resources so that users can easily search for information about local culture and tour resources through mobile app. That is, it aims to provide efficient information services on local resources by providing information on accommodations, outdoor programs, and specialized libraries, as well as introducing tour resources. Above all, the services are provided with a single card issued by the National Library of Korea and is convenient to use anywhere in the country. It not only secures reliability and currency by utilizing various contents developed by public institutions, but also provides functions to facilitate specialized services for the local information of libraries. Based on the previous research, the present study derives the factors of quality evaluation of mobile tour information services; it constructs objects of LibPass application by analyzing existing applications and develops the prototype based on logical entity relationship model. This model can contribute to the increased use of local information services and, promotes the public's positive perception of the libraries through user-friendly applications.

Based on the comprehensive literature search and the sample library surveys, some observations are made on the impact of online information technologies for reference services. Various issues specifically with OPAC, CD-ROM, remote database access, and internet environment are overviewed as the source of and trigger for change in reference librarianship and in terms of expectations as well as difficulties. The paper then focuses on how these technologies influence on the roles of reference librarians as intermediaries in information providing, instructing, consulting, and evaluating functions. This leads to rethinking the conceptual basis of today's reference service and the competencies for reference librarians with new functions and responsibilities.

In this paper, we discuss CITIS(Contractor Integrated Technical Information Service) as the information infrastructure of CALS. CITIS is a contractor-developed and maintained service to provide electronic access and/or delivery of Government-procured contractually required information. As the concept of CALS is expanded government acquisition process into industry business, the CITIS is also expanded military CITIS into commercial CITIS. First, we describe CITIS services and functions defined by MIL-STD-974, and then specify the difference of military CITIS and commercial CITIS. The problem of current CITIS for inter-operable business process is indicated, and legal issues for sharing of CITIS data are also discussed.

IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) is an efficient system which serves various contents to subscribing consumers by using the IP over a broadband connection. The IPTV services can be multi-channel broadcasting service, VoD, T-Commerce, video conference, on-line game and so on. TV Anytime metadata provides various description tools for TV program contents by which TV program contents can serve more information. In this paper, we mention about the overview and feature of IPTV and TV Anytime metadata, propose the essential functions in the EPG program of IPTV and survey the description tools for the proposed functions in EPG. Finally, we show the authored metadata and the implementation of advanced EPG application.

The aim of this research is to analyze the priority to functions of the U-city Service Aid Organization(USAO), which is to support invigorating U-City industry. This research analyzes the relative importance and the priority about the functional area and components of UASO based on AHP. This research also performs a sensitivity analysis. The research result shows that relative importance of functional area is like following orders: 1) distribution of U-City service-related information, 2) quality certification of U-City-related products and services, 3) R&D of U-City technology, 4) standardization of U-City, 5) U-City human resource development. The relative importance order of functional components is 1) establishment of U-City information distribution organization, 2) construction and management of U-City information distribution network, 3) supporting U-City information distribution and price policy, 4) providing U-City information list for distribution, 5) preparation and application of quality certification standard of U-City products and services, 6) research on legal system of U-City items, targets, and procedures for quality certification, 7) research, analysis, and provision of U-City information distribution situation, 8) level examination of constructed infrastructures and services in U-City, 9) U-City core technology development and localization of technology, 10) standardization of collected U-City information, service classification, distribution system. This research result can be applied directly to design functions of USAO. The result also can be used for duty management, human resource planning, or resource allocation.

In this paper, the optimum weight of the algorithm based on the cross information-potential with the delta functions (CIPD) is derived and its robustness against impulsive noise is studied. From the analysis of the behavior of optimum weight, it is revealed that the magnitude controlling operation for input plays the main role of keeping optimum weight of CIPD stable from the impulsive noise. The simulation results show that the steady state weight of CIPD is equivalent to that of MSE criterion. Also in the simulation environment of impulsive noise, unlike the LMS algorithm based on MSE, the steady state weight of CIPD is shown to be kept stable.

In this paper, we describe the design and implementation of IPv6 LAN. The legacy protocol for Internet is IPv4(IP version 4). The ability of IPv4 is not enough for modern real time multimedia communication services. So IPv6(IP version 6) protocol was suggested to resolve the problems of IPv4. We implemented IPv6 LAN using sTLA(sub Top Level Aggregation identifier) address and KOREN(KOrea Research and Experimental Network). Our IPv6 LAN is connected with 6TAP(Chicago), WIDE(Tokyo), and SingAREN(Singapore). We used a dedicated router, Windows 2000 PC host FreeBSD PC host, Solaris 7 workstation and Solaris 8 workstation for IPv6 NDP(Neighbor Discovery Protocol) protocol test. To support all data services including voice and video, IP protocol should be enhanced because the characteristics of modern network services are requiring QoS(Quality of Service) functions, auto-configuration, security, mobility and so on. So a new IP protocol, IPv6, has been developing to meet the requirements. In this paper, we introduce the implementation method and configuration information of IPv6 LAN.

This study based on DeLone and McLean's IS success model aims to identify mobile office service factors affecting user satisfaction. The result of analysis showed that user satisfaction was positively related to job performance, and mobility and information quality affects user satisfaction. In addition to that, we carried out separated hypotheses test to investigate mobile office service factors depending on usage(frequently used functions) and job characteristics classified generally as either primary or support activities. As a result of this research, somewhat different results were derived. The main results of this study are that mobility is the most important factor affecting user satisfaction, and mobile office services should be more strictly guaranteed in quality especially if it supports primary activities of customer companies such as sales.
