To reinforce accident response competence, an organization discussed an establishment, security technology development, expand investment and legal system of the security system. I have studied empirically targeting the only information leak of firms. This data is a technical security competence and technology leakage situation of firms happened in 2010. During recovery of the DDos virus damage on countries, company and individual, the collected data signify a reality of information security. The data also identify a security competence of firms worrying information security management. • Purpose This study examines the influence of product development competence and IT competence on new product development (NPD) performance in the context of Korean companies. To achieve this goal, this study presents and empirically tests a model of how NPD competence and IT competence can be exploited to positively influence NPD performance through convergence capabilities. Design/methodology/approach The NPD competence are based on the research construct developed by Zhang et al. (2013). IT competence is based on the research construct developed by Lu and Ramamurthy(2011) and the NPD performance are based on the performance construct developed by Sivadas and Dwyer (2000). To complete the investigation, we conducted a survey from Korean 1000 big companies, which enrolled in Korean stock market. Randomly contacted 171 Korean companies, including firms of all sizes and types. To test our hypotheses, structured equation model (SEM) with partial least squares (PLS) method was employed. Findings The findings indicate that NPD competence and IT competence are antecedent to convergence capabilities, while IT competence is higher influence than NPD competence. Also, convergence capabilities has very significant relationship with NPD performance. This study provides a better understanding of the relationship between NPD competence, IT competence, convergence capabilities, and NPD performance. So companies should focus on improving NPD and IT competence on NPD performance through convergence capabilities.

Participants were 157 nursing students who were 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade in one university located at the Chungbuk provinces. Data collected using questionnaires which consisted of general characteristics, cultural empathy, self-esteem, and cultural competence. The mean score for cultural empathy was $3.63{\pm}.34$(scores ranged from 1 to 5), The mean score for self-esteem was $2.91{\pm}.42$(scores ranged from 1 to 4). The mean score for cultural competence was $3.31{\pm}.43$(scores ranged from 1 to 5). There were significant differences between cultural competence and age(t=-2.242, p=.027), grade(F=3.473, p=.033), and fluency of foreign language(F=5.053, p=.007). There were significant correlation between cultural competence and cultural empathy(r=.49, p<.001), and self-esteem(r=.33, p<.001)), and self-esteem and cultural empathy(r=.33, p<.001). Cultural empathy and self-esteem explained 29.4% of cultural competence and major predictor variable for cultural competence was cultural empathy. In this paper, we propose various multicultural education programs in curriculum and extra curriculum that can enhance cultural empathy and self-esteem to improve cultural competence of nursing students. Especially, continuous education of cultural knowledge among cultural competence will be done.

  • Recently, there have been calls for approaching from the irrationality point of view to better explain the privacy paradox phenomenon. This study is a kind of response to them. The aim of the study is to investigate how satisfying competence needs, one of basic psychological needs suggested in self-determination theory, affects irrational information disclosure decision (i.e., risk-benefit assessment). To do this, the study builds an irrationality-based model in which competence needs satisfaction affects both perceived risks negatively and perceived benefits (i.e., relationship building and maintenance), which in turn determine a level of self-disclosure. Based on the data from Facebook users which is collected by a large sample survey (N=1050), the study analyzes it using Mplus, a powerful structure equation modeling tool. The study results reveal that while the relationship between competence needs satisfaction and perceived relationship building and maintenance is statistically significant, the relationship between competence needs satisfaction and perceived risks insignificant. These findings imply that people who is in a high level of competence needs satisfaction is more likely to respond to some opportunities for social benefits and in turn disclose more information about self.

  • In this study, we investigated the elements of knowledge and information processing competence of science inquiry activities in grades 3-6 science textbooks. For this purpose, the elements of knowledge and information processing competence were extracted and a framework for analysis was created. Analysis of eight science textbooks for grades 3-6 in elementary school was carried out using the analysis framework. The following results were obtained by the analysis framework: First, we divided the knowledge and information processing competence into five elements: 'collection,' 'analysis,' 'expression,' 'selection,' and 'evaluation.' Second, the elements of knowledge and information processing competence of science inquiry activity of elementary science textbooks were not evenly composed. The science inquiry activities of elementary science textbooks focused on 'collection' and 'analysis' among the five elements of the knowledge and information processing competence, followed by 'expression,' 'selection,' and 'evaluation.' As a result, we found that a science inquiry model or a science instruction model is needed to develop the knowledge and information processing competence in elementary school science curriculum.

  • The purpose of this study is to find what competence determines the employment of college students using data from the K-CESA (Korea Collegiate Essential Skills Assessment) of a Korean university during 2009-2014. This test comprises of 6 categories of competence: self-management, global readiness, interpersonal relationship, resource/information/technology handling, communication and comprehensive reasoning. In addition to these competences, we add the comprehensive variable, grade point average. In order to identify the qualities of employment, employment was classified into 3 types: all employment, employment in decent jobs and employment in the top 500 companies. Results are as follows: For all employment and decent jobs, GPA and comprehensive reasoning were the meaningful variables. However in case of the top 500 companies, interpersonal relationship was added. Based on the analysis, this study suggests the fundamental concepts of college students' job competence: job specific competence, job basic competence, and basic competence.
