  • The purpose of this study was to identify differences in the personality type, diabetes-related distress, and diabetes self-management among older adults with type 2 diabetes. The data of 180 older adults was collected at S Senior Center from between August 14 and October 14, 2012. There were significant differences in self-management between individual personality types(p<.001). The self-management level was lower in the dominance personality type than in the steadiness and conscientiousness types. In particular, foot care subunit self-management was significantly lower in the dominance personality than in the other personality types(p<.001). Moreover, dominance personality was the most important factors influencing diabetes self-management negatively. Using hypoglycemic agent and drinking also influence on diabetes self-management negatively(modified R2=16%). Therefore, when we provide intervention to the older adults with type 2 diabetes, we should consider their personality type and check whether using hypoglycemic agent and drinking alcohol or not. Furthermore, we need to develop intervention program focus on the older adults with dominance personality type, using hypoglycemic agent and having drinking behavior.

  • This study aims to explore how the individual characteristics of the senior job placement project coordinators and the organizational structure in which they work affect their job performance. A survey of 251 coordinators who were working in the senior job placement project agencies were retrieved and used for empirical analysis using the SPSS Win.12 program. The result shows that a sense of self efficacy, the individual traits(understanding of the senior job placement project, attitude towards the elderly) and the organizational structure(the level of formalization of agency) were statistically significant predictors of the level of job performance. The results of this study show that the coordinators who were more confident about themselves, who had more understanding about the senior job placement project, who had more positive attitude towards the social activities of the elderly, and who were working in agencies with higher level of formalization had a higher level of job performance than their counterparts. Therefore, more policy and program considerations should be taken into account in empowering the coordinators, and in providing them with standardized organizational process. This in turn will ultimately enable them to better serve the elderly who participate in the senior job placement projects.

  • The present study was conducted to examine the effect of attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavior control in explaining multicultural receptive behavior intention as well as multicultural receptive behavior, i.e., test the theory of planned behavior(Ajzen, 1991), to investigate the role of Korean social identity in the prediction of multicultural receptive behavior, and to investigate the role of stereotype and prejudice(i.e. attitude about object) in the prediction of multicultural receptive behavior. A sample of 505 undergraduate participated in the survey. The results from stepwise regression analyses indicated that the multicultural receptive intention was explained 47.4% by the theory of planned behavior, while multicultural receptive behavior was explained 61.1% by this theory. When the Korean social identity, stereotype and prejudice were added into the stepwise regression analysis, the variance was increased to 51.8% for multicultural receptive intention and 65.9% for multicultural receptive behavior. Furthermore, the influence of the Korean social identity on multicultural receptive intention/behavior was weak, but the influence of the stereotype on multicultural receptive behavior was strong. Finally the implications and limitations of the present study as well as the future directions of this area were discussed.

  • It can be explained by congruity theory as a process that consumers engage in a matching process to identify personal community that is congruent with their self-images to find the identification between the self and the personal community. Personal community cues that evoke certain images are viewed as activating similar beliefs about the self (e.g., high status). Individuals prompt a comparison process to determine whether the personal community and self-image are congruent and imagine prototypical users of the personal community and select ones that maximize similarity to their actual or desired self-concept. Identity is devided into personal identity and social identity. Consumers are likely to be influenced by both personal identity and social identity. In this article the influencing factors of the commitment to on-line personal community are explored by the sources of both personal identification and social identification. The results are as follows. The maintenance expression and enhancement expression of personal self influence the level of personal identification positively and the maintenance expression and enhancement expression of social self influence the level of social identification positively. The level of both social and personal identification positively influence the commitment to on-line personal community which gives positive responses to the source enterprise that allows the cyberspace and the other benefits to be used.

  • In the telecommunications service industry, until now, it has been possible for Network Operators (NOs) to secure a competitive advantage to increase subscribers and profits through network investment. However, amid a big change to digital economy, network investment fails to lead to increase profits. These days platform companies without holing network infrastructure have a more competitive advantage and take more profits. This makes NOs gradually lose interest in network investment. The purpose of this paper is to find policy measures to promote network investment in digital economy. Specifically, we identify the factors influencing the network investment and promising policy measures energizing the investment, and then analyze their priorities and derive policy implications through Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Analytic Network Process (ANP). The results of this paper show that market competition is more preferred to public intervention in promoting network investment. However, in order to guarantee and expand the universal access to network, it is necessary to consider expanding the role of the public, focusing on non-economic areas.

  • In this study, two phases were conducted to investigate the direct injection of gaseous CO2 into cement mortar. The aim was to advance carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technology by harnessing industrial waste CO2 from the domestic ready-mixed concrete industry. In the first phase, the factors influencing the physical properties of cement mortar when using gaseous CO2 were identified. This included a review of materials to achieve physical properties comparable to a reference formulation. As a result of this phase, it was confirmed that traditional approaches, such as adjusting the water-to-cement ratio, had limitations in achieving the desired physical properties. Consequently, the second phase focused on the optimization of CO2-injected mortar. This involved studying the CO2 application and mixing method for cement mortar. Changes in properties were observed when gaseous CO2 was injected into the mortar. The optimal injection quantity and time to enhance the compressive strength of mortar were determinded. As a result, this study indicated that an extra mixing time exceeding 120 seconds was necessary, compared to conventional mortar. The optimal CO2 injection rate was identified as 0.1 to 0.2 % by weight of cement, taking both flowability and compressive strength performance into account. Increasing the CO2 injection time did not further enhance strength. For this approach to be employed as a CCUS technology, additional studies are required, including a microstructural analysis evaluating the amount of immobilized CO2.
