청상보하탕이 Naive CD4+ T cell의 활성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Chungsangboha-tang on Activity of Naive CD4+ T cell)

  • CSBHT is known to improve immunological response in mice and humans. In this study, CSBHT effect was examined in the context of CD4+ T cells' survival and TCR/CD3 induced activation responses. Spleen cells from 8 week BALB/c mice were cultured in CSBHT containing medium without activation for 24, 48 hr. The MTS assay and revealed that CSBHT did not stimulate spleen lymphocytes as mitogen. Spleen lymphocytes were treated with anti-CD3e/anti-CD28 antibodies for 48hr. Flow cytometry revealed that activity of T cell decreased with CSBHT concentration. CD4+ T cells were isolated and cultured ,in CSBHT containing medium for 48 hr. CSBHT did not affect survival of sorted CD4+ T cells without any involvement of APC. In order to evaluate the direct effect of CSBHT on helper T cells's proliferative capacity prior to activation, CD4+ T cells are isolated after 24hr of culture in CSBHT containing medium and activated with and without anti-CD3e/anti-CD28 activation for 48hr. A higher level of CD69 was observed in 1 ㎍/㎖ of CSBHT treatment than control using flow cytometry. But low CD69 expression was observed in 5㎍/㎖ of CSBHT treatment. Expression of mRNA for cytokines in CD4+ T cell revealed that IL-2 expression was increased in 1 ㎍/㎖. The expression of IL-2R α, INF- γ were increased with concentration. On the other hand mRNA of IL-4 was decreased in dose dependent manner. Results suggest that CSBHT may be desirable for CD4+ T cell's activity in immune responses. Further more, CSBHT may relatively activate Th1 and inactivate Th2.

알칼리도 제어에 의한 SBR 반응조에서의 부분아질산화 (Partial Nitritation in an SBR Reactor by Alkalinity Control)

  • 혐기성 암모늄 산화공정 전처리로써 적절한 $NO_2{^-}-N/NH_4{^+}-N$ 반응비율에 맞는 유출수를 생성하기 위한 연구실 규모의 연속 회분식 반응기 시스템을 적용하였다. 부분아질산화 적용에 있어서 운전인자들을 이용하여 AOB를 활성화하고, 동시에 NOB를 억제하는 다양한 전략이 있다. 하지만 적용된 인자들은 명확히 정의되지 않고 아질산 축적에 있어서 극복할 점이 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 부분아질산화의 주 인자를 조사하여 안정적인 공정을 구축하는데 있다. 부분아질산화 시스템을 구축하기 위하여 우세적인 인자인 온도, 중탄산알칼리도, pH를 평가하고자 한다. 실험의 결과로써 알맞은 알칼리도 비가 $35^{\circ}C$와 상온 두가지 온도범위에 안정적인 50% 부분아질산화가 이루어졌다. 이는 질산화시 필요한 알칼리도를 50% 아질산화에 맞추어 주입하여 질산화과정을 억제하는 것이다. 알칼리도 비는 pH 조절없이 50% 부분아질산화의 전략으로 제안한다. 유출수의 $NO_2{^-}-N/NH_4{^+}-N$ 비가 거의 100%에 다다랐을 때 중탄산알칼리도는 각각 6.8, 6.7이 되었다. PCR-DGGE의 미생물 분석 결과 암모늄산화균이 지배적인 질산화균임을 알 수 있었으며 NOB는 억제되어 활성을 잃은 것으로 사료된다.

  • 한국산 사초속, 랭이사초아속(Vignae)식물 중 한 꼬마이삭 안에 암꽃과 수꽃이 혼재해 있는 자웅형 이삭을 가지는 9분류군을 대상으로 외부형태형질 특히 화서의 형태(꼬마이삭내 암꽃과 수꽃의 배열, 암 수꽃의 개수, 그리고 화서와 꼬마이삭간의 거리)를 중심으로 재검토하였고 그 외 지하경의 모양, 비늘조각의 길이와 너비, 꼬마이삭, 과낭, 비늘조각, 과낭과 수과의 모양과 길이와 너비 등 외부형태학적 형질을 비교 조사한 결과 이들 형질이 각 종의 식별형질이 됨을 알 수 있었다. 꼬마이삭의 모양, 화서내 꼬마이삭의 갯수에 따라 9분류군을 두 개의 그룹으로 나눌 수 있었으며, 아울러 이들의 검색표를 작성하였다. I 그룹은 진퍼리사초(C. arenicola), 대암시초(C. chordorhiza), 층실사초(C. remotiuscula), 산사초(C. curta), 나도벌사초(C. gibba)가 속하며 화서내 꼬마이삭의 수는 3-9개이고 모양은 넓은 도난형 또는 좁은 타원형이다. II 그룹은 타래사초(C. maakii), 괭이사초(C. neurocarpa), 산괭이사초(C. leiorhyncha), 애괭이사초(C. laevissima)가 속하며 꼬마이삭의 수는 17-28개이고 모양은 난형이다.

ER 유체와 압전작동기를 이용한 엔진마운트의 모델링 및 제어 (Modeling and Control of an Engine Mount Using ER Fluids and Piezoactuators)

  • This paper presents a new prototype of an engine mount for a passenger vehicle featuring ER(elector-rheological) fluids and piezoactuators. Conventional rubber mounts and various types of passive or semi-active hydraulic engine mounts have their own functional aims on the limited frequency band in the board engine operating frequency range. However, the proposed engine mount covers all frequency range of the engine operation. A mathematical model of the proposed engine mount is derived using the bond graph method which is inherently domain, the ER fluid is activated upon imposing electric field for vibration isolation while the piezoactuator. Computer control electric fluid for the ER fluid H.inf. cotrol technique is adopted for the piezoactuator. Computer simulation is undertaken in order to demonstrate isolation efficiency of the engine mount over wide operating frequency range.

한우비장(韓牛脾臟)에 있어서 비동맥비지(脾動脈脾肢)의 분기(分岐)에 관(關)해서 (Studies on the Divergence of the Rami lienales at the Hillus of the Spleen in Korean Cattle)

  • This study was conducted to ramify of the Rami lienales at the hilus of the spleen in Korean cattle. The materials used were fifty spleens, 25 fresh samples, and 25 Cast specimens. The results obtained are summarized as follows. 1. The splenic arteries were divided into 2 Rami lienales (32 cases, 64%) and 3 Rami lienales(18 cases, 36%). and their branches were nominated as Aa, terminales superior et inferior and A. polares superior. 2. To ramify the A. terminalis superior and A. terminalis inferior, only one case diverged in the splenic parenchyma and 49 cases diverged in the outside of the spleen. 3. Immediately after dividing from the splenic artery to the Aa. terminales superior and inferior, the calibres of the A. terminalis inferior were larger than the A. terminalis superior (sup. 5.5 mm., inf. 8. 5mm.). 4. It was also observed, in all samples used. that Rami lienalis of the splenic artery were not anastomosis in the out side of the spleen.

Extraction of water body in before and after images of flood using Mahalanobis distance-based spectral analysis

  • Water body extraction is significant for flood disaster monitoring using satellite imagery. Conventional methods have focused on finding an index, which highlights water body and suppresses non-water body such as vegetation or soil area. The Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI) is typically used to extract water body from satellite images. The drawback of NDWI, however, is that some man-made objects in built-up areas have NDWI values similar to water body. The objective of this paper is to propose a new method that could extract correctly water body with built-up areas in before and after images of flood. We first create a two-element feature vector consisting of NDWI and a Near InfRared band (NIR) and then select a training site on water body area. After computing the mean vector and the covariance matrix of the training site, we classify each pixel into water body based on Mahalanobis distance. We also register before and after images of flood using outlier removal and triangulation-based local transformation. We finally create a change map by combining the before-flooding water body and after-flooding water body. The experimental results show that the overall accuracy and Kappa coefficient of the proposed method were 97.25% and 94.14%, respectively, while those of the NDWI method were 89.5% and 69.6%, respectively.

  • Inflammation is an immune response of the human body but excessive inflammation is taken as a major factor in the development of many diseases including autoimmune disorders, cancer and nerve disorders etc. In this regards the need is to suppress the inflammatory response. Suppression of extra or imperfect inflammatory response is not a big deal provided there is an exact knowledge of particular target in the body. Recent advancements in Pharmacological aspect made the therapy with improved outcomes in number of patients. Anticytokine therapy might be one of the important and novel approaches for inflammation and Arthritis. This can be achieved only when we go through the pathophysiology of expression and identification of mediators. Let's take an example of cytokine like interleukins (IL), chemokines, interferons (INF), tumor necrosis factors (TNF-α), growth factors, and colony stimulating factors) release pathway which is a major signalling protein in inflammatory response. In the present study we have reviewed the recent pharmacological therapeutic advancement, inflammatory mediators, receptors, and major signalling pathways. Such information will not only provide the idea about the mechanism of action of Pharmaceuticals and molecular targets but also it provides a new aspect for drug designing and new corrective approaches in existing clinical medicines. This study will be a source of good information for the researchers working in the area of drug designing and molecular Pharmacology especially in anti-inflammatory and anti arthritic medicines for target based therapy.

Monte Carlo burnup and its uncertainty propagation analyses for VERA depletion benchmarks by McCARD

  • For an efficient Monte Carlo (MC) burnup analysis, an accurate high-order depletion scheme to consider the nonlinear flux variation in a coarse burnup-step interval is crucial accompanied with an accurate depletion equation solver. In a Seoul National University MC code, McCARD, the high-order depletion schemes of the quadratic depletion method (QDM) and the linear extrapolation/quadratic interpolation (LEQI) method and a depletion equation solver by the Chebyshev rational approximation method (CRAM) have been newly implemented in addition to the existing constant extrapolation/backward extrapolation (CEBE) method using the matrix exponential method (MEM) solver with substeps. In this paper, the quadratic extrapolation/quadratic interpolation (QEQI) method is proposed as a new high-order depletion scheme. In order to examine the effectiveness of the newly-implemented depletion modules in McCARD, four problems in the VERA depletion benchmarks are solved by CEBE/MEM, CEBE/CRAM, LEQI/MEM, QEQI/MEM, and QDM for gadolinium isotopes. From the comparisons, it is shown that the QEQI/MEM predicts ${k_{inf}}^{\prime}s$ most accurately among the test cases. In addition, statistical uncertainty propagation analyses for a VERA pin cell problem are conducted by the sensitivity and uncertainty and the stochastic sampling methods.

감성 만족도의 정량화를 위한 퍼지 소속 함수 개발 (Development of Fuzzy Membership Function for Emotional Satisfaction Quantification)

  • Fuzzy theory provides an intelligence treatment model for judgement about information when it needs a solution or a decision making about vague problems. Therefore, fuzzy theory is used for appropriate evaluation and decision on obscure information as human's emotion in human factors, In previous study, fuzzy membership function is defined for judgement infOlmation as human's emotion then ultimate results are deducted through fuzzy inference model. This method uses general CWTent through literature review or max, min and average as representative statics value about considering variables. But, this method makes away with nonlinear's or inegular's factors of human sensibility. Accordingly, application of this method leads to considerable loss of information in the ultimate evaluation. For that reason, this method has a limitation in objective evaluation of human factors. So, this study focuses on development of fuzzy membership function, which evaluates human's emotion or feeling accurately and objectively. We used the regression analysis and reasoned a fuzzy membership function about the relation of the variables. Then we verified the adequacy with the reliability through the experiment after this.
