Knowledge Management in an Iranian Health organization: Investigation of Critical Success Factors

  • Purpose - According to the applied studies knowledge, management implementation can improve organizational performance. The main objective of this study is to develop an understanding of critical success factors that enhance the successful implementation of knowledge management. Research design, data, and methodology - This study used Analytical Hierarchy Procedure (AHP), which is a multi-criteria decision making model that works on fuzzy logic. Using this method, researchers can find the proportion of success due to the contribution of the critical success factors (CSFs). Results - The results show that more than 70% of respondents indicate the possibility of success in knowledge management implementation. Further, the results show that top management support has the greatest relationship with the success of knowledge management implementation. This was followed by information technology, performance measurement, and culture, which had a high relation with knowledge management success. Process and activities have a moderate positive relation, while education and training has a low relation with success. Because of an inappropriate p-value, knowledge management strategies show no relation to the success of knowledge management in the Iranian health Industry. Conclusions - This study was conducted because of a critical issue in the Iranian health industry that indicated that a significant portion of the workforce would retire in 5 to 10 years. Most highly experienced and knowledge oriented employees would become eligible for retirement. Therefore, knowledge management is presented as a complete solution in the Iranian health sector.

한국형 웰니스 인덱스 원안 개발과 적용 (Development and Application of the Korean Prototype of Wellness Index)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to develop the Korean Prototype of Wellness Index (KP-WI) and identify the relationship between Koreans' health characteristics and wellness. Methods: The Wellness Index (WI) was translated into the primitive version of the KP-WI, considering the Koreans' culture and health behavior. It was administered to 223 service industrial employees at one workplace along with the Positive Affect and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) and Stress Questionnaire-Short Form. Data analyses included item-total correlation, Pearson's correlation coefficient, independent t-test, and one-way ANOVA. Results: The primitive version was modified to KP-WI based on the item-total correlation. The items considered to lower the reliability of the KP-WI were eliminated. Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ for each subscale ranged from .857 to .939. Perceived stress and negative emotions correlated significantly with wellness measured by KP-WI (r=-.29, p<.001; r=-.27, p<.001). Positive emotions correlated significantly with wellness (r=.60, p<.001). Conclusion: This study contributes to the development of Korean-style wellness indexes by developing a prototype and exploring the factors related to wellness.

뿌리기업 진정성리더십이 조직원 역할 내 성과에 미치는 영향 : 외국인과 내국인의 조절효과 분석 (The Effects of Authentic Leadership on Employee's In-role Performance in Ppuri Company : Analysis of Moderating Effects between Foreigner and Native)

  • 뿌리산업은 4차 산업혁명으로 인하여 기술적 중요성이 증가하고, 지속적으로 성장하고 있지만, 내국인 전문인력 확보가 현실적으로 어려워, 외국인 근로자가 증가하고 있다. 본 연구는 뿌리기업에서 근무하는 외국인과 내국인의 역할내 성과 향상을 위한 조직 몰입 방안을 제시하고, 집단간 비교를 통한 차별화 지원 방안을 찾고자 한다. 연구대상은 뿌리기업의 외국인과 내국인이며, 설문을 통하여 유효샘플 393개를 수집하였다. 연구가설 검증은 구조방정식 모델링을 실시하였다. 결과는 외국인의 경우 균형잡힌 정보처리가 조직몰입을 통해 역할 내 성과에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 내국인의 경우 관계적 투명성, 균형잡힌 정보처리과정, 내재화된 도덕적 관점이 조직몰입을 통해 역할 내 성과에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 분석 결과는 집단별 역할 내 성과 향상을 위한 전략적 접근 방향을 제시한다.

화학 공장에서 근로자의 사건 보고 의지에 영향을 미치는 인자 (Factors Affecting Workers' Willingness to Report Incidents in Chemical Plants)

  • Lack of incident reporting culture has been pointed out as a potential risk factor across industries. Consequently, comprehensive understanding of the factors affecting the willingness to report (WTR) is necessary. However, our knowledge on the related studies are not enough to date and even most parts of the existing studies have focused on patient safety, which makes it difficult to universally apply the factors to all industries. Therefore, this study aimed to identify WTR factors in chemical plants and evaluate the influence degree of the factors. To do this, 45 candidate factors were summarized throughout the previous studies and surveying plant safety staff. A questionnaire survey was conducted for 614 all employees from 9 chemical plants which belong to one company, and finally 32 WTR factors were identified throughout 520 responses. Of these, 19 factors were consistent with the previous studies and 13 factors were newly identified. The most influential factor was 'Views on the necessity of incident reporting', and 'Reporting practice by outcome severity', 'Fear of vilification, conflicts, blame, or sanctions' were followed. This result not only suggests various WTR factors suitable for chemical plants, but also shows need to derive specific factors that are appropriate to each industry. An empirical study could be expected to increase incident reporting by using these factors and verify its effectiveness on injury rate.

산업체 규모와 업종에 따른 MSDS 영업비밀 적용 실태조사 연구 (Study on the Status of Application of Trade Secrets in MSDS Provided in Workplaces)

  • Objective: This study analyzed the status of the application of trade secrets in MSDSs according to size and type of industry. The contents of the MSDS non-public approval policy are summarized. We suggest proactive improvement requirements related to the operation of the MSDS non-public approval policy. Methods: To review this subject, we selected 153 manufacturers and six importers in such fields as organic chemical production. The trade secrets application status and ratio (%) of MSDSs by industry size and industry classification were investigated. Improvements toward a proactive system related to the operation of the MSDS non-public approval policy under the Occupational Safety and Health Act(OSHA) were summarized. Results and Conclusions: According to the results, the trade secret ratio in MSDSs by industry size was 33% in workplaces with less than 50 employees, 23.1% in workplaces with more than 50 but less than 100 workers, 73% in workplaces with more than 100 workers, and 83.4% in workplaces with 300 or more workers. For the trade secret writing rate for MSDSs by industry, the highest was MOCCP (Manufacture of ink, paint, coating and similar products) at 80.9%. MOC (Manufacture of other chemicals) was the lowest at 16.2%. We propose four proactive efforts to minimize the administrative burden of implementation of the MSDS non-public approval policy. The results of this study can be used as basic data for policy improvements to make more effective use of MSDS.

지각방사선(라돈) 참조준위별 저감 대책에 따른 비용 편익 분석 (Cost-benefit Analysis on Occupational Reference Levels for Radon)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to propose the benefits of reduction measures according to the occupational radon reference level in order to present basic data for radon management guidelines considering domestic circumstances. Methods: This study uses radon data measured in the subway stations from 2015 to 2016. Of the total of 4,643 cases, 4,231 cases were analyzed excluding the 412 cases where the values were below $300Bq/m^3$. Results: Cost-Benefit analysis was done on the results of the field survey on subway work sites. At the exposure level of $400Bq/m^3$, the ratio between the cost and the benefit was highest at 1 : 1.81(the cost was KRW 1,398,568,032, while the benefit KRW 2,5248,772,841). At the exposure level of $600Bq/m^3$, the ratio of cost and benefit was 1: 1.80, at $300Bq/m^3$ it was 1.72, at $800Bq/m^3$ it was 1.71, at $200Bq/m^3$ it was 1.54, and at $100Bq/m^3$ it was 1.40. Conclusions: Radon management in the workplace provides economic benefits and appropriate reduction strategies are needed. In addition, it is necessary to establish and distribute radon exposure assessment procedures and guidelines for the safety and health of employees when exceeding the exposure standard, and guidelines for radon management in the workplace should be established.

아두이노를 이용한 스마트 안전모 (Smart Safety Helmet Using Arduino)

  • 산업 재해의 주요 원인에는 추락사고, 가스 누출 등이 있다. 기존의 안전모와 스마트 디바이스 결합 제품들은 편의성에 초점을 맞춰져 있어 위와 같은 사고를 예방하기 위한 기능이 미흡하다. 본 논문에서는 추락사고 인지와 가스 누출 감지 기능에 중점을 둔 스마트 안전모 개발을 다루었다. 또한 효율적으로 근로자를 관리할 수 있는 관리 시스템을 개발하였다. 이 시스템의 핵심 기능은 근로자의 위험 상태를 감지하여 관리자에게 전달하고 근로자의 상태를 확인하는 것이다. 실험을 통해 가연성 가스 측정 능력의 효용성을 검증하였다. 하지만 보드와 센서의 지속적인 동작으로 인해 상당한 전력 소모가 발견됨에 따라 대용량 배터리로 교체하는 등의 대응 방안이 요구된다는 점도 발견하였다.

중년직장인의 퇴직태도가 퇴직준비와 직무만족도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Retirement Attitude of Middle-aged Employees on Retirement Preparation and Job Satisfaction)

  • 이 연구는 서울과 수도권에 근무 중인 40~50대의 중년직장인을 대상으로 중년직장인이 인지하는 퇴직에 대한 태도가 퇴직준비와 직무만족도에 유의미한 영향을 미치는지를 검증하는 연구이다. 서울과 수도권에 400부의 설문지를 배포한 것 중 회수된 362부를 연구에 사용하였다. 두 개의 가설을 세워 가설검증을 진행하였고, 그 결과 중년직장인의 퇴직태도 중 강요된 좌절은 퇴직준비의 재정과 가족에만 유의미한 부(-)적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 새로운 출발은 퇴직준비의 모든 하위변인(재정, 가족, 건강, 여가와 봉사)에 유의미한 정(+)적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 두 번째 가설인 직무만족도의 영향에선 퇴직태도의 노년휴식과 새로운 출발이 직무만족도에 유의미한 정(+)적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이 결과로 퇴직을 강요된 좌절이라고 인지할수록 재정과 가족에 대한 퇴직준비가 낮았고, 퇴직을 새로운 출발로 인지할수록 퇴직준비의 모든 항목이 높게 나타났다. 또한 퇴직을 노년의 휴식과 새로운 출발이라고 인지할수록 직무만족도 역시 높게 나타났다. 이로써 퇴직을 앞둔 중년직장인들의 퇴직에 대한 태도가 퇴직준비와 직무만족도에 유의미한 영향을 미친다는 것을 알 수 있다.

노동조합이 비조합원 임금에 미치는 영향: 지역 수준 분석 (Union Effects on Nonunion Wages: A Regional Panel Data Analysis for Korea)

  • 이 글은 "한국노동패널조사" 2003년~2015년 자료를 이용해 우리나라 지역별 노조 조직률 변화가 같은 지역 미조직 노동자들의 임금에 미치는 영향을 추정한다. 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 노동조합은 비조합원 평균 임금에 상당히 크고 유의한 긍정적 영향을 미친다. 지역 내 노조 조직률이 10% 포인트 상승하면 같은 지역 비조합원 평균 임금은 약 5% 증가한다. 둘째, 이러한 긍정적 효과는 파급범위가 넓다. 여성, 청년, 저학력, 비정규직, 서비스업, 중소기업 노동자 등 노동시장 취약집단 비조합원의 임금도 지역 내 노조 조직률로부터 긍정적 영향을 받는다. 셋째, 비조합원의 경우와 달리 노조 조합원 평균 임금은 지역 내 노조 조직률 변화에 민감하게 반응하지 않는다. 우리나라 임금노동자 중 노조 조합원 비율은 10%, 비조합원 비율은 90%이다. 이 글의 추정 결과는 우리나라 대다수 노동자의 임금에 큰 영향을 미치는 노동시장 제도적 요인을 규명한다는 점에서 중요한 함의가 있다. 우리나라 비노조 부문의 저임금이 노동조합 때문이라는 사회 일각의 주장은 실증적으로 타당하지 않다. 오히려 그간의 노조 조직률 하락으로 인해 비노조 부문 노조 결성 위협이 감소하고 노동조합의 일반적 노동 표준 제고 기능이 약화되면서 노조 조합원보다 비조합원이 더 큰 임금 손실을 입었을 가능성이 높다. "노조할 권리"를 보장하고 확대하는 전략은, 한편으로는 조합 내부에서 자신의 권리를 보호받는 노동자 비율을 높임으로써, 다른 한편으로는 조합 외부 미조직 노동자들의 노동조건에도 긍정적 파급효과를 미침으로써, 우리 경제 일자리의 전반적 질을 개선하는 데 기여할 것이다.

안전리더십, 안전준수, 안전교육, 안전문화 간의 구조적 관계 - K 사 사례연구 - (Structural Relations Between Safety Leadership, Safety Observance, Safety Education, and Safety Culture - K Company Case Study -)

  • Effective leadership in safety performance, such as safety leadership, has received attention as a factor that greatly affects safety performance in various high-risk industrial environments. Based on prior research, this study aims to analyze the impact relationship between safety leadership, safety observance, safety education, and safety culture to reveal the effectiveness of safety leadership. In addition, this study will examine the effects of safety leadership on safety observance and safety education to identify the effects of safety understanding. For this purpose, a survey was conducted with employees of an aviation manufacturing company in Gyeongnam. For verification, a positive factor analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equation analysis were conducted using the AMOS 21.0 program. This study's findings show that, first, safety leadership has a positive and significant impact on safety observance and safety education. Second, safety leadership was found to have a direct impact on organizations' safety culture. Third, although safety observance has significant positive effects on safety culture, safety education has often been rejected. Finally, after verifying the control effect of safety understanding, this study uncovered the presence of an adjustment effect in the effect of safety leadership on safety observance. Therefore, based on the results of this study, theoretical and practical implications suggest that through the exercise of safety leadership, managers can improve their organizations' safety culture by increasing organizations' compliance with safety observance and/or acceptance of safety education.
