This study aims to analyse the ripple effect of Physical distribution service industry on national economy using input-output tables and present the results as data for political plans in this field. For the analysis, it uses input-output tables developed and published by Sank of Korea in 1998, 2000, and 2003. To sum up the results, production inducement effects are 1757 for railroad transport, 1688 for road transport and 1617 for loading. Import inducement effects of assistant services, loading, storage, warehouse and other transport-related services are low while the effects of water and air transport are high as follows: 0.679 and 0.558 respectively. Then, added-value inducement effects are presented as follows: 0.841 for railway transport, 0.828 for road transport, 0.962 for transport assistant service, 0.939 for loading, 0.938 for storage and warehouse, and 0.942 for other transport-related services. Sensitivity dispersion index of road transport is high while that of water transport, storage and warehouse is low. And influence coefficient of railway and road transport is high while that of water and air transport is low. In respect to the employment structure of Physical distribution service industry, 744,000 are employed for road transport industry, which is the largest number, 19,000 for air transport and 20,000 for assistant services, which is the least number.
Assuming a completed Smart Highway road & communication environment that allows real-time information collection and transmission of road traffic condition ahead, the purpose of this study is to develop a plan for inducing a network-level safe driving pattern by providing road traffic condition and safety information to multiple drivers through a road information provision device. In this study, the device with a function that displays different colors according to the hazard level to the existing delineator has been named 'Smart Delineator'. Smart Delineator is a device that provides not only alignment information but also safety information for drivers to receive real-time warning information and intuitively recognize road traffic condition ahead so that drivers can respond. To examine the effects of safety driving inducement level on drivers, a simulation test was conducted using driving simulator as well as a satisfaction survey. The result showed that the Smart Delineator was able to identify the location of occurrence and affecting driving according pattern, either adhering to recommended speed or reducing speed according to the pre-defined hazard level.
English contract law has traditionally taken the view that it is not the duty of the parties to a contract to give information voluntarily to each other. In English law, one of the principal distinctions between insurance contract law and general contract law is the existence of the duty of disclosure in insurance law. This article is, therefore, designed to analyse the scope or extent of the duty of disclosure and the remedy for breach of the duty in English marine insurance law. The main purpose of this article is also to seek the alternative remedy for the breach. The results of analysis are as following : First, the scope of the duty of disclosure is closely related to the test of materiality and the concept of a hypothetical prudent insurer. The assured is required to disclose only material circumstances subject to MIA 1906, s. 18(1). The test of materiality, which had caused a great deal of debate in English courts over 30 years, was finally settled by the House of Lords in Pan Atlantic and the House of Lords rejected the 'decisive influence' test and the 'increased risk' test, and the decision of the House of Lords is thought to accept the 'mere influence' test in subsequent case by the Court of Appeal. Secondly, an actual insurer is, in order to avoid contract, required to provide proof that he is induced to enter into the contract by reason of the non-disclosure of the assured. But this subjective test of actual inducement is somewhat meaningless in sense that English court takes the test of materiality as a starting point and assumes the presumption of inducement even in case of no clear proof on the inducement. Finally, MIA 1906, s. 18 provides expressly for the remedy of avoidance of the contract for breach of the duty of disclosure. This means rescission or retrospective avoidance of the entire contract, and the remedy is based upon a fairly crude 'all-or-nothing' approach. The remedy of rescission is too draconian from the point of view of the assured, because he can be deprived of all cover despite he is innocent perfectly. An inadvertent breach from an innocent mistake is as fatal as wilful concealment. What is, therefore, needed in English marine insurance law with respect to remedy for the breach is to introduce a more sophisticated or proportionate remedy ascertaining degrees of fault.

Since the 1970s, manufacturing has been one of the key driving forces that has led to Korea's economic growth. However, this growth rate has been reduced significantly since the 2000s, and shows that revenues and employment are steadily decreasing. In addition, while manufacturing investment in Korea has dropped sharply, the United States, Germany, Japan, and other major countries have increased investment in manufacturing. These countries have promoted manufacturing innovation strategies that include the convergence of information and communications technologies (ICT) and manufacturing. For manufacturing innovation, it is important for time and cost savings required for product development to be achieved by changes in the production process, especially product design. Modeling and simulation (M&S) is a process that replaces physical product design, mockup making, and testing, with virtual product creation (modeling) and engineering analysis (simulation). In this paper, we analyze the economic ripple effect of supercomputing M&S using an input-output model technique based on the input-output tables published by the Bank of Korea. When we set the M&S budget (about US$16 million for the last 10 years) of the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) as input coefficients, the effect on production inducement, value-added inducement, and employment inducement was analyzed to be US$24 million, US$13.4 million, and 267, respectively.
The separability of an arbitration clause is generally recognized throughout the world, but there are no provisions of it under the Federal Arbitration Act(FAA) of the United States. As such, the controversy over the recognition of separability has developed with the rise of certain cases. The Supreme Court recognized this separability based on section 4 of the FAA in the decision of the Prima Paint case. The Court ruled that courts must decide the claim about the fraudulent inducement of an arbitration agreement itself, but they must not decide the claim about the fraudulent inducement of a contract involving a broad arbitration clause, and they have to proceed with the arbitration. The Court said that the subject of an arbitral award is set by the agreement of the parties, and thereby arbitrators can decide the issues about the fraudulent inducement of a contract on the basis of the arbitration clause when it is broad to the point of including the issues. Many courts have extended the separability beyond the fraud context to include other defenses to contract formation in the federal courts such as the occurrence of mistake, illegality, and frustration of purpose. In interpreting the parties' intention of ensuring arbitrator competence, the Supreme Court has treated differently the issues about whether the arbitration agreement exists or not and the issues about whether the preconditions for dispute resolution by a valid arbitration agreement is fulfilled or not. The Court holds that the federal policy in favor of arbitration does not apply to the former issues, and arbitrators can decide theses issues only when parties assign them clearly and unmistakably to them. However, the later issues receive a presumption in favor of arbitration; i.e., when the interpretation of a valid arbitration clause is contested, the arbitrators can decide these issues. In the First Options case, the former issue was questioned. The question of the separability of an arbitration clause is where the validity of the main contract involving the arbitration clause is contested. Therefore, the doctrine of separability did not operate in the First Options case in which the validity of the arbitration clause itself was questioned, and the decision in the First Options was irrelevant to the separability. I think that the Prima Paint case and the First Options case have different issues, and there is no tension between them.
The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of enterprise R&D investment on inter-industry technology spillover in Korea under the new Normal Era. In order to do this, we tested the effect of production inducement, backward and forward linkage effects, and the effect of technology spillover such as technology intensity effects and technology diffusion effects based on an input-output framework. The results show that the high index industries of the production inducement effect were professional, scientific and technical activities, manufacture of metal products, and general machinery. Some manufacturers of other non-metallic mineral products and transport equipment sectors appeared to have the strong effect of forward and backward linkages that were almost equivalent to high-tech manufacturing industries. In particular, the industries of professional, scientific and technical activities appeared to have the strong effect of both forward and backward linkages. Therefore, we need to drive a strong policy support to higher enterprise R&D investment in the those particular industries not only to increase global competitiveness, but also to widen up the technology spillover effect on other industries.
This study examined economic ripple effect of marine transport and port industry using Input-Output Tables. The results of the study are summarized as follows: first, in 2005 production inducement coefficients of harbour facilities was the highest(1.958), followed by coast and inland water transportation(1.857), load and unload(1.842), other transportation services(1.768), storage and warehouse(1.676), water transportation assistant services(1.422), and outport transportation (1.283). Second, value added inducement coefficient of water transportation assistant services was the highest(0.924), followed by load and unload, storage and warehouse(0.902), other transportation services(0.885), harbor facilities(0.832), coast and inland water transportation (0.752), and outport transportation(0.258). Third, import inducement coefficient of outport transportation was the highest(0.742), followed by coast and inland water transportation, harbor facilities, other transportation services, load and unload, storage and warehouse, and water transportation assistance services. Fourth, indexes of the sensitivity of dispersion of other transportation services and load and unload were 1.125 and 0.882 respectively while those of harbor facilities and outport transportation were 0.514. Indexes of power of dispersion of harbor facilities, coast and inland water transportation, load and unload, and other transportation services were the highest, respectively 1.006, 0.954, 0.946, and 0.908 while that of outport transportation was low, 0.659.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of safety culture on the safety consciousness and safety behaviors of manufacturing workers, and to suggest ways for manufacturing workers to understand the safety culture and improve safety consciousness and safety behavior. To achieve this research objective, out of 176 industrial complexes in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province registered with the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, workers at 50 industrial complexes, including the Korea Export-Industrial Complex and Seoul's Onsuji, were subject to research. The implementation of this survey distributed 300 questionnaires through the mid-level managers of manufacturers and environment safety and health managers over a period of one month from August 1st to 31st, 2019, finally statisticalizing the data in 282 parts excluding 18 questionnaires deemed to have been unresponsive. First, the safety culture (safety climate, safety procedures) has a positive effect on the safety consciousness (recognition of importance, interest and participation inducement) of the manufacturing workers. Second, the safety culture (safety climate, safety procedures) has a positive effect on the safety behavior (safety planning, safety check) of manufacturing workers. Third, safety consciousness (recognition of importance, interest and inducement of participation) has a positive influence on the safety behavior (safety planning, safety check) of manufacturing workers. Fourth, the safety consciousness (recognition of importance, interest and inducement of participation) appears to have a partial mediating effect in relation to safety culture (safety climate, safety procedure) and safety behavior (safety planning, safety check) of manufacturing workers. The implication of this study is that although the industrial accidents have occurred in the manufacturing industry in recent years, the studies on the workers in the manufacturing industry are insufficient. However, this study is meaningful that it has suggested ways for manufacturing workers to understand the safety culture and improve the safety consciousness and safety behavior by analyzing the effects of safety culture on safety consciousness and safety behavior of manufacturing workers.

As large-scale buildings, skyscrapers, and multi-purpose buildings recently increase in numbers dramatically, the internal space of such buildings becomes more and more large and complicated accordingly. Since such structures usually accommodate a number of random people, the potential possibilities of disastrous tragedies are high, and the rates of injury and physical damage caused by the complicated system of the building also increase as well. However, most of the shelter designs of the existing buildings are based on the specifications according to the assigned laws and involved regulations. In this case, only general criteria are referred to regardless of the characteristics of each structure while other disaster-related features are not taken into consideration sufficiently. Since any actual fire may cause a terrible calamity, in such plans, shelter inducement can be neither safe nor effective. Thus, this study examines and analyzes currently run disaster prevention systems and shelter inducement facilities with COEX Mall as its subject, and analyzes the responding system to each situation based on the fire scenarios by means of As-Is Model. Through this analysis, presented are the measures to solve the problems of current disaster prevention systems and to improve shelter inducement methods effectively.
The purpose of this study is to suggest the new strategies for strengthening the competi tiveness of Incheon port. To measure the calling factors and satisfaction of ports, this study developed a list of 24 items using a seven-point Likert scale through the previous literature reviews, pilot test and emerging factors. Factor analysis, regression analysis, one sample T-test, IPA and SPSS were conducted to verify the determinants choosing ports and customer satisfaction. The result of an empirical study revealed that the cargo volume and information system, etc. in Incheon port was evaluated as satisfied factors and berth availability and port charge, etc. as dissatisfied factors. Based on the outcomes of this study, to strengthen the competitiveness of Incheon port, several strategies were advised such as the inducement of North American and European cargo, port infrastructure, dedicated terminal and GTO inducement, hinterland construction, logistics companies inducement and cooperation with neighboring ports.
