Today, implementation of the defect detection in laser welding has been researched for a long time, but most studies have been made around thin plate within $1{\sim}3mm^t$. Therefore, this study was measured and analyzed light emission signals of the induced plasma in $CO_2$ laser lap welding of $6mm^t$ Zn primer-coated steel, and based on this analysis, research made an investigation into possibility of monitoring in thick plate welding. It was been analyzing the measured signals by RMS and FFT processing, as a results, we were able to confirm definite difference of two signals between humping bead and sound bead. Thus, possibility of real time monitoring in $CO_2$ laser lap welding verified experimentally.

The purpose of this experimental study is to investigate the quantitative pollutants reduction by oxygen enrichment and induced air effect in venturi type after-burner. For this purpose, CO, $CO_2$, $O_2$. and HC concentrations were measured before and after the after-burner by changing the Oxygen flow rate and area ratio which is defined as the ratio of air inducing area divided by total area. As results of this study, when the area ratio were increased, the emission reduction effect was increased even less oxygen flow rate. In that case when oxygen was injected too little, the pollutants were increased.
Recently, in order to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, which is the main cause of global warming, Korea has declared carbon emission reduction targets and carbon neutral. Accurate assessment of regional emissions and atmospheric CO2 concentrations is becoming important as a result. In this study, we identified the spatiotemporal differences between satellite-based atmospheric CO2 concentration and CO2 emissions for the Korean Peninsula region using column-averaged CO2 dry-air mole fraction from the Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2 and emission inventory. And we explained these differences using solar-induced fluorescence (SIF), a photosynthetic reaction index according to vegetation growth. The Greenhouse Gas Inventory and Research Center (GIR) and Emissions Database for Global Atmospheric Research (EDGAR) emissions continued to increase in Korea from 2014 to 2018, but the satellite-based atmospheric CO2 concentration decreased in 2018, respectively. Regionally, GIR and EDGAR emissions increased in 2018 in Gyeonggi-do and Chungcheongbuk-do, but satellite-based CO2 concentrations decreased for the corresponding years. In addition, the correlation analysis between emissions and satellite-based CO2 concentration showed a low correlation of 0.22 (GIR) and 0.16 (EDGAR) in Seoul and Gangwon-do. Atmospheric CO2 concentrations showed a different correlation with SIF by region. In the CO2-SIF correlation analysis for the growing season (May to September), Seoul and Gyeonggi-do showed a negative correlation coefficient of -0.26, Chungcheongbuk-do and Gangwon-do showed a positive correlation coefficient of 0.46. Therefore, it can be suggested that consideration of the CO2 absorption process is necessary for analyzing the relationship between the atmospheric CO2 concentration and emission inventory.
Most previous works about magnetic effect on plasma emission were interested in emission enhancement which was useful to various fields of plasma application. On the contrary, the following work is interested in plasma dissipation rarely reported in prior researches and expected to help advance plasma-controlling technique. Nd:YAG laser (1064 nm, 6 ns) was focused on three kinds of metals (Al, Ti and STS) and air. The permanent magnetic field (0.4 T) of Nd2Fe14B magnet was provided passing throughout laser-induced plasma. The spectra of plasma in both the presence and absence of the magnetic field were observed with varying laser power and delay time of the spectrograph. In this work it was uniquely discovered that the plasma always dissipated easily in the presence of magnetic field irrespective of the laser power. With the O I(777.42 nm)-line shape function fitted to Lorentz profile, its half width at half maximum (HWHM) was evaluated to verify that the magnetic field increased the plasma density. It is concluded that magnetic field facilitates not only plasma emission enhancement but also plasma dissipation, increasing recombination rate which is proportional to plasma density.

The results of high speed photography, acoustic emission detection and plasma UV radiation intensity measurement during CO2 laser welding of stainless steel 304 are presented. Video images with high spatial and temporal resolution allowed to observe the melt dynamics and keyhole evolution. The existence of a high speed melt flow which originated from the part of weld pool and flowed along the sides wall of keyhole was confirmed by the slag motion on the weld pool. the characteristic frequencies of flow instability and keyhole fluctuations at different welding speed were measured and compared with the results of Fourier analyses of temporal acoustic emission (AE) and light emission (LE) spectra. The experimental results were compared with the newly developed numerical model of keyhole dynamics. (The model is based on the assumption that the propagation of front part of keyhole into material is due to the melt ejection driven by laser induced surface evaporation.) The calculations predict that a high speed melt flow is induced at the front part of keyhole when the sample travel speed exceeds several 10mm/s. The numerical analysis also shows the hump formation on the front keyhole wall surface. Experimentally observed melt behavior and transformation of the AE and LE spectra with variation of welding speed are qualitatively in good agreement with the model predictions.
First, the base model of multi-family residential buildings are selected, and then the $CO_2$ reduction building technologies that are applicable for multi-family residential buildings are induced by analyzing the examples and then an optimal plan for when the $CO_2$ reduction building technologies can be integrated and applied to the base model was formulated. In the results of converting the energy consumption and reduction amount from the building technologies into $CO_2$ emissions to analyze the distribution ratio compared to the entire $CO_2$ emissions; the heat recovery ventilator is 0.5%, the photovoltaic system is $1.9%{\sim}5.9%$, the solar hot water heating system is $6.3%{\sim}13.1%$ and the ge thermal heat-pump system is 39.0% when both heating and hot water heating are applied. An optimally integrated application method for the building technologies is in charge of heating and hot water heating through the geothermal source heat pump system and in charge of the electricity load through the photovoltaic system(45.2%).
To quantify the presence of mercuric ions in aqueous solution, double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) of poly(dT) was employed using a light switch compound, $Ru(phen)_2(dppz)^{2+}$ (1) which is reported to intercalate into dsDNA of a right-handed B-form. Addition of mercuric ions induced the dehybridization of poly(dT)${\cdot}$poly(dA) duplexes to form a hairpin structure of poly(dT) at room temperature and the metal-to-ligand charge transfer emission derived from the intercalation of 1 was reduced due to the dehybridization of dsDNA. As the concentration of $Hg^{2+}$ was increased, the emission of 1 progressively decreased. This label-free emission method had a detection limit of 0.2 nM. Other metal ions, such as $K^+$, $Ag^+$, $Ca^{2+}$, $Mg^{2+}$, $Zn^{2+}$, $Mn^{2+}$, $Co^{2+}$, $Ni^{2+}$, $Cu^{2+}$, $Cd^{2+}$, $Cr^{3+}$, $Fe^{3+}$, had no significant effect on reducing emission. This emission method can differentiate matched and mismatched poly(dT) sequences based on the emission intensity of dsDNA.
To reduce the mode noise induced from a multimode dye laser, a modeless laser generating amplified spontaneous emission was used as Stokes beam of the broadband CARS. A new technique for measuring species concentration from the modulation dip of nonresonant background of broadband CARS spectrum was proposed. The modulation dip was numerically calculated and fitted as a function of the concentration of the minor species and temperature of gas sample. We applied this technique in measuring CO concentration in a static cell and also the profile of CO concentration in a CHdair premixed flame of a counterflow burner.
Flue gas recirculation (FGR) is a method used to control oxides of nitrogen ($NO_x$) in combustion system. The recirculated flue gases resulted in slow reaction and low flame temperatures, which in turn resulted in decreased thermal NO production. Recently, it has been demonstrated that introducing the recirculated flue gas in the fuel stream, that is, the fuel induced recirculation (FIR), resulted in a much greater reduction in $NO_x$ per unit mass of recirculated gas, as compared to introducing the flue gases in air. In the present study, the effect on $NO_x$ reduction in turbulent swirl flame in laboratory scale using FGR/FIR methods through the dilution using $N_2$ and $CO_2$. Results. show the $CO_2$ dilution is more effective $NO_x$ reduction methods because of large temperature drop due to the larger specific heat $CO_2$ compared to $N_2$. FIR is more effective to reduce $NO_x$ emission than FGR when the same recirculation ratio of dilution gas.

In this study, the plasma induced by $CO_2$ laser lap welding of 6t Zn coated steel used for ship building was measured using photodiodes and a microphone. Then, the welding phenomenon with gap clearance of lap joint was compared with RMS-treated signal. Thus, we found that intensity of the RMS-treated signal increased with Zn vaporization; further, the presence of defects results in rapid variations with the RMS value as a function of lap-joint parameters. Besides, the FFT value of the raw signal with variations of changing welding parameters was calculated, and then the calculated FFT frequency value was set as the bandwidth of digital filter for a more accurate in-process monitoring. The RMS values were acquired by filtering the raw signal. By matching the weld beads and the calculated RMS values, we confirmed that there is a strong relationship between the signals and the defects.
