This study aims to analyze the qualitative and quantitative effects of environmental policies in terms of green space management using logistic regression model(LRM). Landsat satellite imageries in 1985, 1992, 2000, 2008, and 2015 are classified using a hybrid-classification method. Based on these classified maps, logistic regression model having a deforestation tendency of the past is built. Binary green space change map is used for the dependent variable and four explanatory variables are used: distance from green space, distance from settlements, elevation, and slope. The green space map of 2008 and 2015 is predicted using the constructed model. The conservation effect of Ulsan's environmental policies is quantified through the numerical comparison of green area between the predicted and real data. Time-series analysis of green space showed that restoration and destruction of green space are highly related to human activities rather than natural land transition. The effect of green space management policy was spatially-explicit and brought a significant increase in green space. Furthermore, as a result of quantitative analysis, Ulsan's environmental policy had effects of conserving and restoring 111.75㎢ and 175.45㎢ respectively for the periods of eight and fifteen years. Among four variables, slope was the most determinant factor that accounts for the destruction of green space in the city. This study presents logistic regression model as a way of evaluating the effect of environmental policies that have been practiced in the city. It has its significance in that it allows us a comprehensive understanding of the effect by considering every direct and indirect effect from other domains, such as air and water, on green space. We conclude discussing practicability of implementing environmental policy in terms of green space management with the focus on a non-statutory plan.
This paper is attempted to review a cave restoration and preservation plan against environmental destruction and pollution as a preliminary survey for preservation of cave environment. Consequently, it's important to throw an indirect light rather than direct light on cave formations, keeping distance of 2m at least. The already existing moss should be removed using wet cloth or sponge as soon as possible. If it's washed off, be careful not to splash it or water on nearby subjects. Based on an automatic switch-off system, light will automatically turn off when no one is left in the cave. It's also recommended to dualize the cave passage and partially close the cave by taking turns to give a time to recover.
The chlorophyta and thebryophyta are became extinct by the shutting out the light and low temperature in caves. Whenever they get the conditions, they grow again immediately. It is necessary to keep the illumination distance over 2m and use the indirect light. The effect of lamp light and temperature is very important in the control of green contamination but the water and moisture in caves are essential factors in green contamination in the show caves. It's better to get rid of green alae and mosses at early stage for the control of the increase of green contamination. They must be isolated completely without the dispersion with moist pieces of cloth or sponge. It is necessary to shut out the cave route periodically for the restoration of cave environments and ecosystem. It's better to use the lamp keeping illumination and restricting the ascension of heat for the control of green contamination.
In recent years, with the introduction of various restorative materials, restorations using CAD/CAM equipment have been increasing in the esthetic dentistry. The critical steps in the fabrication of indirect restorations with CAD/CAM equipment are proper cavity preparation and making accurate impressions. The process of tooth preparation for CAD/CAM restoration should include a mechanical understanding of milling. In addition, during tooth preparation, the clinician should be familiar with additional equipment and techniques for obtaining the convenience. In order to obtain an accurate oral scan, the clinician should understand the limitations of the oral scan and be skilled at techniques for obtaining a successful image when making oral scans. This article focused clinical guidelines for the preparation of CAD/CAM restorations and introduced clinical methods for making successful impression of oral scans in narrow and deep tooth cavity areas.
Purpose: The aim of this study is to evaluate composite resins of indirect restorations for testing of flexural strength according to various polymerization methods. Methods: Specimen was produced a total of 40 to 10 per each group with a length 25 mm, width 2 mm, thickness 2 mm using a Teflon zig. The polymerization groups were classified into four groups. The first group proceeded with light curing only(LC group). The second group proceeded with light and heat curing(LHC group). The third group proceeded with air press and light curing(ALC group). The fourth group proceeded with air press, light and heat curing(ALHC group). Each prepared group was evaluated by flexural strength test. Statistical analysis was performed by one-way ANOVA. Post-test was performed with Tukey test. Results: The lowest in the ALC group was 119.18 MPa and the highest in the ALHC group was 168.15 MPa. There were statistically significant differences. Conclusion : The composite resin of the indirect restoration is recommended to heat curing along with the air press.
This study was conducted to comprehend the spatial distribution characteristics, habitats and appearances of Hydropotes inermis by using the biotope mapping in Daebudo Island, Ansan-si. The result is base data to understand status and manage potential inhabitation of Hydropotes inermis in Daebudo Island through the Maximum Entropy model. The study used 105 traces from the primary investigation and 452 traces in the secondary investigation. The biotope types were distinquished Hydropotes inermis habitats largest from the order of natural forest (15.1%), natural coast (13.7%), marshy cultivated land (12.6%), and dry cultivated land (11.7%), and from the inhabitation trace results. Hydropotes inermis appearanced biotope types were the greatest in the order of cultivated land (49.73%) > forest (18.85%) > coast (7.00%) > grassland (6.28%). Since forests in Daebudo Island have low slope and altitude, it was concluded that Hydropotes inermis would live in most of the forests. A high number of Hydropotes inermis was found to appear in areas where the grassland is formed including cultivated lands (include unused paddies and fields) and marshy grasslands, which would result in direct damage of crops. According to the Maxent modeling analysis that used location information of Hydropotes inermis, the AUC value was 0.635 based on the ROC curve. In Daebudo Island, areas with over 0.635 potential inhabitation value are distributed all over the place, and it was concluded that each population would have a different scope of influence and home range. Hydropotes inermis living in Daebudo Island have high habitat suitability mainly around the cultivated lands near the roads, but due to the bare lands and roads, it is expected that their habitats would be fragmented and damaged, which would have a direct and indirect effect in maintaining the Hydropotes inermis population. Also, considering habitat disturbance, diverse methods for reducing damage including capturing some individuals within the limit that does not disperse Hydropotes inermis population in Daebudo Island must be carried out.
