  • This study aims to provide implications for the realization of the SDG goal for higher education through a comparative analysis of the UK and Australia's inclusive higher education policies. The cases of the UK and Australia were chosen for analysis since both countries have developed various policies to strengthen the inclusiveness of higher education since the early 2000s. The implications for the Korean government are as follows. First, it should approach the concept of underprivileged students by applying various categories such as 'race, region, and etc.,' not just for a category of income level. Second, it should enhance higher education opportunities for underprivileged students not only by expanding admission opportunities for them, but also by assisting them to adapt to college life and develop a student career. Third, it should provide underprivileged students with the customized support in consideration of their characteristics and merits. Finally, it should develop the "Inclusive Higher Education Project" which would help them complete higher education courses through regional partnerships.

For program development, the literature on social inclusion programs and SEL programs were analyzed. Program components were extracted from the literature review and based on the review activities were also selected. The participants were fifth- and sixth-grade elementary school students, including children with intellectual disabilities, and the program was implemented over 12 sessions during the students' creative experiential activity class. The validity of the program was evaluated by teachers and the specified program contents were modified and finalized reflecting the professionals' recommendations. This study supports that SEL-based music program can be effectively applied to inclusive education. • This study analyzed the effect of the inclusion program executed in a social welfare institution for handicapped children of community in order to support inclusive education of elementary school. The statistical analyses adapted in this study were the Frequency Analysis, T-test, One-Way ANOVA, Correlation Analysis, Two-Way ANOVA, and ANCOVA. As the results of the analyses, there was significant difference of the increase in the scores between pre-test attitude and attitude improvement of normal children (nonhandicapped children) by intervention of the inclusion program. Secondly three variables such as the sex, the experience of integrated class, and the school environment gave influence on attitude improvement of normal children, but two variables such as the school year and the religion didn't give influence on attitude improvement of normal children. However, as the results of the ANCOVA, it was appeared that both the school year variable and the religion variable didn't give influence on attitude improvement of normal children. Consequently, as the attitude improvement of normal children was irrelevant to the characteristic variables such as the school year and the religion, it is verified that the inclusion program gives still significant impact in the difference between pre-test attitude and attitude improvement of normal children. In conclusion, As the pure effectiveness of the inclusion program executed in social welfare institutions for handicapped children in order to support inclusive education of elementary school was confirmed, it was suggested in this study that the inclusion program in the field of social work practice based community can be an important tool of social integration through inclusive education between handicapped children and normal children.

  • Current research intended to measure the spillovers of education and on-the-job training to enhance sustainable economic development. Consideration of research and development expenditures for on-the-job training expands the impact of education and, thus, may provide spillovers for Pakistan's economic growth. The primary focus of this research is to look at the combined impact of education and research and development spending as value-added variables for sustainable growth. The econometric study uses data from a variety of sources, including the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the Pakistan Economic Survey, and world development indices. The secondary annual time series data from 1976 to 2019 are analyzed. To adequately estimate the empirical model, ARDL has been used while the presence of the unit root has been tested using the ADF test. The findings show that education, research, and development all contribute to all-inclusive, sustainable economic growth. Labor and capital, among other traditional components, continue to be the backbone of the development process. Still, the spillover effect is much enhanced with the expansion in education and the on-job training in the form of research and development expenditures. Consequently, the introduction of research and development in education will lead to a sustainable and inclusive economy.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine early childhood education(ECE) and early childhood special education(ECSE) teachers' perceptions of (a)important teacher competencies needed for working in inclusive early childhood programs and (b)current levels of these competencies. Sixty-two ECE teachers and 77 ECSE teachers responded to the survey developed for this study. There were no differences between the ECE teachers and ECSE teachers in the ratings of importance of the competency domains. However, the ECSE teachers had significantly higher perceptions than the ECE teachers of their self-proficiency on competencies related to child development, curriculum and instruction, assessment procedures, working with other adults, and professionalism. Both the ECE and ECSE teachers perceived the greatest need for further training in competencies related to assessment procedures and working with families and other adults.
