Efficient of Hepatobiliary Scintigraphy both Decubitus Position in Biliary Leakage Patients (간담도 스캔 시 담즙 누출(Biliary Leakage)환자에서의 양측와위 자세(Both Decubitus Position)의 유용성)

  • Hepatobiliary scintigraphy is very sensitivity of hepatic cell and gallbladder, biliary track atresia and biliary leakage. however, Hepatobiliary scan of biliary leakage diagnosis was separated determine biliary leakage and bowl drainage bile-juice. The object of this study will determine biliary leakage and bowl drainage bile-juice to hepatobiliary scintigraphy both decubitus position in bile leakage patients. Material & Methode: 31 patients (meal 14, Femeal 17), $51.1{\pm}14.4$ years. dynamic scan acquisition 60 farme for 60 minute on supine position. and delay scan was 2 hrs, 4 hrs, 24 hrs for 5 minute on supine, both decubitus position. Both decubitus position scan was kept for 5 minutes. Efficient of Hepatobiliary Scintigraphy both decubitus position in bile leakage patients was compared leakage size, density, image of supine position and both decubitus position. Results: 23 patients for 31 bile leakage patients was checked up function image or delay image, and 8 patients was checked up bile leakage on both decubitus. anatomical leakage location was supine position very well, but both decubitus position was separated bile leakage and moving bile-juice in bowl. also, uptake (counts/pixel) average of roi and bkg was supine 5.02, left decubitus 2.08, right decubitus 2.68. No. pixels of supine ROI counted 1.91 times than left decubitus, 1.05 times than right decubitus. Conclusion: 31 patient both decubitus position, but decubitus position was separated bile juice movement in bowl leakage location. also, It was compared ROI/BKG ratio and ROI No. pixels of supine, both decubitus in 38.5% patients. And No. pixels of supine position was large 19%, 5% than left decubitus, right decubitus, And density was in low 60%, 50% than left decubitus, right decubitus. It was mean bile leakage of ROI. so, If Hepatobiliary Scintigraphy was additional both decubitus position scan in bile leakage patients, this study will be more valuable in diagnosis of bile leakage.

  • This study was performed to evaluate the reproducibility of natural head position according to skeletal malocclusion types and sex using cephalometric radiographs for establishing orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning. The sample consisted of 90 young adults (male 45, female 45) who had the skeletal malocclusion. Cephalometric radiographs were taken in natural head position, and statistical analysis was performed and method error of 6 postural variables were estimated to evaluate the reproducibility of the natural head position. The following results were obtained : 1. In the reproducibility of the natural head position, postural variables had no statistical significance In male and female (P>0.05). 2. In the reproducibility of the natural head position, postural variables had no statistical significance in Class I, II, III, and total group (P>0.05). 3. The reproducibility of natural head position using method error was excellent in all groups.

  • In this paper, the instantaneous flux Is applied to control the position of the SRG (Switched Reluctance Generator) without position sensor. The position information of the rotor is required in the drive of SRG. These data are generally obtained by a shaft encoder or resolver. In some cases, the EMI(Electro Magnetic Interference), vibration, thermal, and humidity environments may cause the difficulties in maintaining the satisfactory performance for the position detection. Therefore, the elimination of the position and speed sensor is needed. In this paper, a new method for the position estimation of the SRG is proposed. The estimation of the flux is calculated by using the measured voltage and current. The rotor position gets from the flux profile. The output voltage is also controlled constantly by PR control algorithm. These methods are verified by computer simulations md experiments using DSP. Experimental results certificate that the proposed method is able to control the SRG stable, and keep the output voltage constant in spite of changing of the load.

Reliability of rehabilitative ultrasound imaging for measuring the gluteus maximus muscle at rest and during contraction

  • Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the inter-rater and intra-rater reliability of rehabilitative ultrasound imaging (RUSI) for measurement of muscle thickness with changes in angles of the gluteus maximus (GM) at rest and during contraction. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: Twenty-two healthy men volunteered for this study. GM muscle images were obtained in the resting position and during prone hip extension with knee flexion at hip abduction angles of $0^{\circ}$ and $30^{\circ}$, respectively. Two examiners randomly measured the thickness of the GM twice in three different positions. The first position was a comfortable prone position. The second position was prone hip extension with knee flexion (PHEKF) to $90^{\circ}$. The third position was achieved by hanging a 1-kg weight on the ankle of the lifted leg during PHEKF with the angle of the lifted leg the same as the second position. Intra-class correlation coefficients (ICCs), standard error measurements, and minimal detectable changes were used to estimate reliability. Results: The intra-rater reliability ICCs (95% confidence interval) of the GM were >0.870, indicating good reliability. Inter-rater reliability ICCs ranged from 0.668 to 0.913. The reliability of measurements of muscle thickness at each position was similar to the reliability of the angle change. Differences in muscle thickness and ratios for each position with $0^{\circ}$ and $30^{\circ}$ of hip abduction were not statistically significant. Conclusions: In the present study, the intra-rater reliability of muscle thickness measurements of the GM was good, and the inter-rater reliability was moderate to good. Reliable RUSI measurements of wide and large muscles, such as the GM muscle at rest and during contraction, are feasible. Further investigation is required to establish the reproducibility of the protocols presented in this study.

An Electromyographic Study on Mandibular Rest Position Induced by Several Methods (하악안정위 유도에 관한 근전도학적 연구)

  • Mandibular rest position is very essential position because in that position, masticatory muscularture can be reciprocally coordinative and unstrained. So obtaining a good ability to establish and maintain rest position in non-functioning state is mandatory for treatment of patient with craniomandibular disorders. In general, many types of mandibulr movement exercise start from rest position and use the sense of muscle relearning, that is, muscle smoothness and relaxation, throughout the exercise period. In this study, 44 normal subjects for control group and 37 patients with craniomandibular disorders for experimental group participated and they were classified into 3 subgroups, respectively. One method to guide mandibular rest position was used for one subgroup, so theree methods were used for this study, 1)self-guided rest position without any education, 2) guided by Rocabado's tongue rest position, 3) guided through swallowing after Dawson's centric relation. To record electromyographic activity, Bioelectric processor EM2 (Myotronics, U.S.A.) was used. The numbers of sessions from start to stable resting electromyographic level and muscle activities in stable state were recorded and two recordings which were first and second, 3 days after first recording, were done, The data were processed with SPSS/PC+package. The obtained results were as follows : 1. Mean number of sessions in second recording were fewer than those in first recording in both groups. In comparison among 3 subgroups, mean number of sessions of subgroup guided through Dawson's method were fewer than those of other groups though it is not statistically significant. 2. There was a difference of mean number of sessions between control and experimental group in first recording, but in second recording there was no difference in any cases. 3. Mean value of muscle activity were generally not different without regard to group and method if once come to stable resting position level. Mean value of muscle activity of guided subgroups showed a tendency of decreasing in second recording than in first recording. However, in self-guided subgroup there was a inconsistent pattern. 4. The amounts of change in session number from first to second recording in control group were fewer than those in experimental group.

  • Object: To evaluate the efficiencies of the arthroscopic rotator cuff surgery which is Performed without the traction system in the lateral decubitus position. Methods: Twenty-nine cases of the arthroscopic rotator cuff surgery performed without the traction system in the lateral decubitus position were studied from February, 2002 to January, 2005. We performed a repair using the arthroscopic debridement and the arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, or using the mini-open incision technique after the confirmation of rotator cuff tear, then, the arthroscopic subacromial decompression was performed after the confirmation of subacromial lesions Results: We could easily find the subscapularis tear which was often overlooked in the arthroscopic rotator cuff surgery performed with the traction surgery by the relaxation of the subscapularis, as the arm position was internally rotate about 45 to 70 degrees from abducted position. We found that the operation time was reduced 14 minutes shorter than the operation time of the controlled group which had the surgery with the traction system on the average. We also found that there were no neurovascular complications from all cases. Conclusions: The arthroscopic rotator cuff surgery without traction system in the lateral decubitus position provided the better visual field, easy manipulation of the joint and reducing operation time.

  • An underwater mooing target position tracking system using image tracking system of CPMC is developed to use in a test basin. Generally the performance tests of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles(AUVs) are conducted in the sea. Some efforts to perform the test in a test basin are exist, because the real sea tests need much time and manpower. And also the real sea tests are high cost. There is a restriction to acquire the position of AUVs using sonar sensor system in the test tank, because many sound reflecters are exist in a test basin. In this paper a position tracking system for underwater mooing target developed to break though this restriction. A Tank-test is conducted to examine the performance of the position tracking system.

A Comparative Study of the Effects of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation and Taping Interventions on Balance Ability, Joint Position Sense, and Ankle Joint Strength (발목관절 근력과 관절위치감각, 그리고 균형능력에 미치는 고유수용성 신경근 촉진법 중재와 테이핑 중재 비교연구)

  • Purpose: The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) and taping interventions on balance ability, joint position sense, and ankle joint strength. Methods: Thirty subjects who had experienced an ankle sprain within the previous 3 months participated in this study. The subjects were randomly assigned to a PNF group (n=15) or a taping group (n=15). Before and after the interventions, ankle dorsi-flexion and plantar-flexion strength, joint position error, and total center of pressure movements in one leg while in a standing position were measured. Results: Regardless of the group allocation, ankle dorsi-flexion and plantar-flexion strength significantly improved after the interventions (p<0.05). Compared to preintervention measurements, joint position errors were significantly reduced postintervention (p<0.05). The PNF intervention significantly decreased the total lateral movement of the center of pressure in the one leg standing condition (p<0.05). Conclusion: Both PNF and taping interventions improved joint position sense and ankle joint strength. In common with the findings of a previous study, the PNF intervention improved balance ability. Further study is required to investigate the effects of various PNF and taping interventions on ankle performance in subjects with chronic ankle sprains.

  • The sensorless control of high efficiency air compressors using a permanent magnet type synchronous motor as an oil-free air compressor is quite common. However, due to the nature of the air compressor, it is difficult to install a position sensor. In order to control the permanent magnet type synchronous motor at variable speed, the inclusion of a position sensor to grasp the position of the rotor is essential. Therefore, in order to achieve sensorless control, it is essential to use a permanent magnet type synchronous motor in the compressor. The position estimation method based on the back electromotive force, which is widely used as the sensorless control method, has a limitation in that position errors occur due either to the phase delay caused by the use of a stationary coordinate system or to the estimated back electromotive force in the transient state caused by the use of a synchronous coordinate system. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a method of estimating the position and velocity using a rotation angle tracking observer and reducing the speed ripple through a disturbance observer. An experimental apparatus was constructed using Freescale's MPU and the feasibility of the proposed algorithm was examined. It was confirmed that even if a position error occurs at a certain point in time, the position correction value converges to the actual vector position when the position error value is found.

  • The frequency and pattern of sex chromatin in primary cultured cells of kidney cortex of cats and guinea-pigs, and muscle of chick embroys were examined and compared to those of in vivo condition, with special reference to the various cultured stages. 1. In cat, the frequencies of sex chromatin positive I of peripheral position were average 62.7% in female, and 15% in male, whereas those of non-peripherla position were 5.8% in female and 0.1% in male. The incident proportion between them showed a marked difference-approximately 10 times higher in female than male. These results failry indicated that a distinct nuclear dimorphism with regard to the sex chromatin positive I was established in cultured cells. The position of sex chormatin was usually peripheral location. The tendency of frequencies , with reference to the cultured stages, was low count in primary extracted and initial stage cells , but it showed a peaked frequency in 10-13 days after primary culture, and after that the frequencies were decreased gradually. Compared between I vitro and in vivo condition of the same tissues, the cells in vivo exhibited the sex chromatin in high frequency at the peak showed stage. 2. In guinea-pig , the frequencyies of peripheral positive I were 36.8% in female and 6.3% in male, while non-peripheral positions were 6.1% in female and 3.5% inmale. Its incident was a rate of nearly 4 times higher in female than male. The nuclear dimorphism was also established in cultrued cells of guinea-pig. The position and the incident frquency showed a similar pattern as in cat except the primary extracted cells. 3. In chick embryo, the frequencies of sex chromatin positive I of peripheral position were 38.2% in female, and 18.3% in male, non-peripheral position, however, was hardly to find. These results suggest that the definite sexual dimorphism was unable to find in chick embryo cultured cells. The position and the incident tendency were a similar pattern as in above mammals and the frequency was higher in vitro cells.
