  • The purpose of this study is reserch the approch and basic principle which make it possible to establish the consistent and subjective direction on the proportion method of DAPO HAPGAK STYLE House in the traditional Korean architecture. The object of reseach which should be considered in dealing with traditional concept on proportion are as follows. What is the proportional method in the plane of the Korean traditional archtecture. In this study, it was intended to find out that, what was the basis of numerical system implied in the proportion system of Korean traditional architecture and whether there can be the absolute and ideal relatioship between proportion systmes or not.

  • Most of the transmission lines in Korea pass through a mountains. The forest fire occurred in around the transmission lines make an accident such as flashover and faults in the power transmission lines. In spite of that risk, there are no research on the flashover characteristics by fires in electric discharge engineering in our country. This paper was mentioned about the relation between the flame and flashover characteristics. We were carried out simple test by using artificial flame generator and rod-plane or conductor-plane gaps. And we were summarized test results.

  • A plastic zone size is regarded as a measure of material resistance, and also it determines the fracture behavior. The importance of estimating or measuring the plastic zone size cannot be too emphasized. In this article, SDSP(Stereo Digital Speckle Photography) is examined as a new techniques to measure the plastic zone developed in a ductile metal. This technique is simple, vibration free and non-contact, and measures simultaneously in-plane displacements as well as out-of plane displacements like the side necking. Experimental results for a CT specimen are presented to demonstrate the accuracy in comparison with those obtained by recrystallization technique and finite element analysis.

  • This paper investigates properties of integral operators in complex variable boundary integral equation in plane elasticity, which is derived from the Somigliana identity in the complex variable form. The generalized Sokhotski-Plemelj's formulae are used to obtain the BIE in complex variable. The properties of some integral operators in the interior problem are studied in detail. The Neumann and Dirichlet problems are analyzed. The prior condition for solution is studied. The solvability of the formulated problems is addressed. Similar analysis is carried out for the exterior problem. It is found that the properties of some integral operators in the exterior boundary value problem (BVP) are quite different from their counterparts in the interior BVP.

  • Biaxial low cycle fatigue test was carried out to predict fatigue life under combined axial-torsional-loading condition which is that of in-phase and out-of-phase for CF8M cast stainless steels. Fatemi-Socie(FS) parameter which is based on critical plane approach is not only one of methods but also the best method that can predict fatigue life under biaxial loading condition. But the result showed that, biaxial fatigue life prediction by using FS parameter with several different parameters for the CF8M cast stainless steels is not conservative but best results. So in this present research, we proposed new fatigue life prediction parameter considering effective shear stress instead of FS parameter which considers the maximum normal stress acting on maximum shear strain and its effectiveness was verified.

  • This study was performed to investigate the reproducibility of the horizontal and midsagittal planes, and to suggest a stable coordinate system for three-dimensional (3D) cephalometric analysis. Eighteen CT scans were taken and the coordinate system was established using 7 reference points marked by a volume model, with no more than 4 points on the same plane. The 3D landmarks were selected on V works (Cybermed Inc., Seoul, Korea), then exported to V surgery (Cybermed Inc., Seoul, Korea) to calculate the coordinate values. All the landmarks were taken twice with a lapse of 2 weeks. The horizontal and midsagittal planes were constructed and its reproducibility was evaluated. There was no significant difference in the reproducibility of the horizontal reference planes, But, FH planes were more reproducible than other horizontal planes. FH planes showed no difference between the planes constructed with 3 out of 4 points. The angle of intersection made by 2 FH planes, composed of both Po and one Or showed less than $1^{\circ}$ difference. This was identical when 2 FH planes were composed of both Or and one Po. But, the latter cases showed a significantly smaller error. The reproducibility of the midsagittal plane was reliable with an error range of 0.61 to $1.93^{\circ}$ except for 5 establishments (FMS-Nc, Na-Rh, Na-ANS, Rh-ANS, and FR-PNS). The 3D coordinate system may be constructed with 3 planes; the horizontal plane constructed by both Po and right Or; the midsagittal plane perpendicular to the horizontal plane, including the midpoint of the Foramen Spinosum and Nc; and the coronal plane perpendicular to the horizontal and midsagittal planes, including point clinoidale, or sella, or PNS.

  • A three-dimensional constitutive modeling for reinforced concrete is presented for finite element nonlinear analysis of reinforced concrete. The targets of interest to the authors are columns confined by lateral steel hoops, RC thin shells subjected to combined in-plane and out-of-plane actions and massive structures of three-dimensional (3D) extent in shear. The elasto-plastic and continuum fracture law is applied to pre-cracked solid concrete. For post cracking formulation, fixed multi-directional smeared crack model is adopted for RC domains of 3D geometry subjected to monotonic and reversed cyclic actions. The authors propose a new scheme of decomposing stress strain fields into sub-planes on which 2D constitutive laws can be applied. The proposed model for 3D reinforced concrete is experimentally verified in both member and structural levels under cyclic actions.

  • The structural characteristics of an epitaxial $BaTiO_3$ film on MgO(001) grown by sputtering were studied as a function of temperature using in-situ, real time synchrotron x-ray scattering experiments. We found that the as-grown film was single c-domain but strained at room temperature and tetragonally distorted with the c-axis normal to the film surface. Interestingly, its lattice parameters were found to be expanded in both the in-plane and the out-of -plane directions, i.e. biaxially, comparing with those of a bulk $BaTiO_3$ . More importantly, as it was heated up to $600^{\circ}C$, the tetragonal structure was kept up through without and any phase transition, which is usually observed in other epitaxial ferroelectric thin films.

  • Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry(ESPI) is one of optical technique to measure displacement precisely, uses CCD camera to show result image in real time. General ESPI system measures in-plane or out-of-plane displacement. Shearography is one of electronic speckle pattern interferometric methods which allow full-field observation of surface displacement derivatives and it is robust in vibration. The shearography provides non-contacting technique of evaluating defects nondestructively In this study, the shearography was used to evaluate defects in Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic(CFRP). Various sizes of artificial defects were embedded in various depths of woven CFRP plate. Effects due to the variation of size and depth of defects were evaluated in this study.
