The effect of balance training using visual information on the trunk control, balance and gait ability in patients with subacute stroke: Randomized controlled trial

  • Background: This research was conducted to understand balance training in trunk control, balance, and walking in stroke patients. Design: Randomized controlled trial. Methods: The subjects included 40 stroke patients, of whom 20 undertook balance training using visual information and the other 20 undertook balance training using balance boards. Using visual feedback, the balance training group used a training program within the static balanced evaluation tool, while the balance training group trained using a balance board. All subjects underwent 20 mins of neurodevelopmental treatment, and both target groups underwent 10 mins each of balance training by using either visual feedback or a balance board. The treatment period lasted a total of 4 weeks, twice a day. Trunk control before and after training was evaluated with the Trunk Impairment Scale. Balance capability was assessed by the Berg Balance Scale, Functional Reach Test, Timed Up and Go test, and Static balance measurement tool. Walking capacity was measured using gait measuring equipment, and cadence and velocity were measured. Results: Both groups showed a significant improvement in their interstitial control, balance, and gait ability after the experiments compared to before the experiments (p<0.05). The difference between the two groups was not significant. The visual feedback balance training group showed a more substantial improvement than the balance board training group. Conclusion: In this study, we found that the balance training combined with visual feedback contributes to improving trunk control, balance, and gait in patients with hemiplegia due to stroke. In addition to this, I believe that balanced training combined with visual feedback can be used as a training method when considering patients who lack interstitial control, balance, and gait ability.

The Effect of Perceived Benefits and Obstacles on the Continuous Internet Adoption Intention in Fashion Companies

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze how the perceived benefits and obstacles of fashion companies, which utilizes the internet as a marketing or commercial transaction tool, have effect on the continuous internet adoption intention, and to analyze the differences between the companies that have introduced the internet commercial transaction and those that have not. A survey was conducted from January $15^{th}$ to February $20^{th}$ in 2009, among the employees of fashion companies carrying out internet business. A total of 314 respondents used in the data analysis, the statistical analysis methods were frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, t-test and multiple regression analysis. The results show that the elevation of the business results, improvement in customer relationship and raise in market reactivity of the perceived benefits has effect on the continuous internet adoption intention of fashion companies. There are differences in the elevation of the business results, improvement in consumer relationship, miscellaneous expenses and the continuous internet adoption intention between companies that introduced a internet commercial transaction system and those that have not.

차량용 열차단판의 면품질 개선을 위한 성형해석 기반 금형면 설계 (Analysis-based Die Face Design for the Improvement of Surface Quality for a Heat Protect Panel of an Automobile)

  • This paper concerns the die face design for a heat protect panel aided by the finite element forming analysis in order to eliminate the surface defect and to improve the surface quality. The CAE procedure of the stamping process is introduced in order to reveal the reason of surface inferiorities and to improve surface quality. Complicated shape of the product induces the surface inferiorities such as wrinkling due to the insufficient restraining force of the forming blank and the non-uniform contact of the blank with the tools. This paper proposes a new guideline for the die design which includes the modification of tool shapes and addition of the draw-beads on the tool surface for ensuring the increased the restraining force with the uniform contact condition. The effectiveness of the proposed design is verified by the forming analysis and is confirmed by the tryout operation in the press shop. The analysis and test results show that the modified process parameters such as tool shapes and draw-beads can reduce the tendency of wrinkling and improve surface quality.

  • Recently, the evolution in production techniques (e.g. high-speed milling), the complex shapes involved in modem production design, and the ever increasing pressure for higher productivity demand a drastic improvement of the dynamic behavior of the machine tool axes used in production machinery. And also machine tools of multi functional and minimized parts are increasingly required as demand of higher accurate in some fields such as electronic and optical components etc. The accuracy and the productivity of machined parts are natural to depend on the linear system of machine tools. The complex workpiece surfaces encountered in present-day products and generated by CAD systems are to be transformed into tool paths for machine tools. The more complex these tool paths and the higher the speed requirements, the higher the acceleration requirements are needed to the machine tool axes and the motion control system, and the more difficult it is to meet the requirements. The traditional indirect drive design for high speed machine tools, which consists of a rotary motor with a ball-screw transmission to the slide, is limited in speed, acceleration, and accuracy. The direct drive design of machine tool axes. which is based on linear motors and which recently appeared on the market. is a viable candidate to meet the ever increasing demands, because of these advantages such as no backlash, less friction, no mechanical limitations on acceleration and velocity and mechanical simplicity. Therefore performance tests were carried out to machine tool axes based on linear motor. Especially, dynamic characteristics were investigated through circular test.

Fatigue Resistance Improvement of Welded Joints by Bristle Roll-Brush Grinding

  • In the periodic repainting of steel bridges, often the steel surface has to be prepared by using power tools to remove surface contaminants, such as deteriorated paint film and rust, and to increase the adhesive strengths of the paint films to be applied newly. Surface preparation by bristle roll-brush grinding, which is a type of power tool, may additionally introduce compressive residual stress and increase the fatigue resistance of welded joints owing to the impact of rotating bristle tips. In this study, fatigue tests were conducted for longitudinally out-of-plane gusset fillet welded joints and transversely butt-welded joints to evaluate the effect of bristle roll-brush grinding prior to repainting on the fatigue resistance of the welded joints. The test results showed that bristle roll-brush grinding introduced compressive residual stress and significantly increased fatigue limits by over 50%.

간호대학생의 비판적 사고력 평가도구 개발 (Development of Critical Thinking Skill Evaluation Scale for Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: To develop a Critical Thinking Skill Test for Nursing Students. Methods: The construct concepts were drawn from a literature review and in-depth interviews with hospital nurses and surveys were conducted among students (n=607) from nursing colleges. The data were collected from September 13 to November 23, 2012 and analyzed using the SAS program, 9.2 version. The KR 20 coefficient for reliability, difficulty index, discrimination index, item-total correlation and known group technique for validity were performed. Results: Four domains and 27 skills were identified and 35 multiple choice items were developed. Thirty multiple choice items which had scores higher than .80 on the content validity index were selected for the pre test. From the analysis of the pre test data, a modified 30 items were selected for the main test. In the main test, the KR 20 coefficient was .70 and Corrected Item-Total Correlations range was .11-.38. There was a statistically significant difference between two academic systems (p=.001). Conclusion: The developed instrument is the first critical thinking skill test reflecting nursing perspectives in hospital settings and is expected to be utilized as a tool which contributes to improvement of the critical thinking ability of nursing students.

국내 택배화물의 안전운송 및 적정포장을 위한 Field-to-Lab 시험방법 연구 (A Study on Field-to-lab Test Method for the Safe Transport and Optimum Packaging Design of the Parcel Delivery in Korea)

  • The growth of e-commerce market requires more delivery packagings, which protect goods from the damage factors on the delivery. In this study, we have analyzed the distribution environment data (vibration and impact) measured in previous study and compared with global standards (ISTA, ASTM), so that we developed the testing method for Field-to-Lab simulation suitable to the domestic delivery. In order to verify the efficacy of this method, we took the Field-to-Lab tests for 3 packaged products (detergents set, glass tableware set, small furniture), which has been frequent breakages or damages on the actual delivery by e-commerce order, so that we could find out the test results were similar to those of the actual delivery occasions. In addition, we could perform redesign and improvement of the parcel delivery packagings for safe transportation by taking this Field-to-Lab test repeatedly. This test methods was finally proposed to be Korean industrial standard (KS), and is expected to be useful as a designing tool for the packaging optimization between protecting goods and reducing packaging waste.

시뮬레이션을 이용한 외래프로세스 개선방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Outpatient Process Using Simulation)

  • 본 연구는 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 외래프로세스를 개선하여 기관 운영의 효율성을 높이고자 수행되었다. 3가지의 시나리오를 설정하여 시뮬레이션 분석을 수행하였으며 외래환자 전체 체류시간, 대기시간, 이동시간, 진료시간, 직원 활용도 지표를 비교하여 시나리오에 따른 외래프로세스의 효율성을 평가하였다. 병원의 진료자료를 수집하여 통계도구와 프로세스 마이닝 도구를 이용하여 분석하였다. 그리고 시뮬레이션 툴인 PIOS를 이용하여 모형의 타당성은 t-test로 검증하였다. 시뮬레이션 분석 결과, 센터제로 운영하는 경우의 외래프로세스가 가장 효율성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이를 볼 때 외래환자에 대해서는 센터제 형태로 운영되는 것이 기관의 효율성을 높이는 방안이라는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통하여 시뮬레이션이 최적의 외래프로세스를 선정하는데 활용될 수 있는 방법이라는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 시뮬레이션을 이용하면 과거 경험, 감정, 직관에 의존하는 기존의 보건의료 관리 기법에 비해 효율적인 의사 결정을 지원하는 방법이라는 것을 알 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서 제시한 연구 모델은 보건 의료 시스템 상에 다양한 활용이 가능할 것으로 보인다.

In vitro SPF 측정법 개선에 관한 연구 (Improvement of in vitro Sun Protection Factor Measurement)

  • In vitro method는 in vivo results를 예측하기 위해 사용되어지는 것이 가장 큰 목적이므로 지급까지 in vitro SPF test는 여러 formulations를 screen 하거나 self-tanners의 activity에 미치는 cosmetic ingredients의 영향을 연구하는 데에 이용되어져 왔다. In vitro SPF test는 신속하고 객관적이며 적은 비용으로 사람에게 in vivo test를 하기에 앞서 protective formulas를 pre-screen 하며, 따라서 in vitro test가 유용하게 원하는 역할을 하기 위해서는 in vitro SPF 평가법의 정확성이 무엇보다 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 건조시간을 15분으로 고정하면서 기존에 사용해온 substrate인 Transpore$^{(R)}$ tape을 이용, 도포 방법을 개선하기 위한 시도를 하였다. 우선 기존 시험법의 분석을 통한 현 수준을 파악하고, 사용되고 있는 Transpore$^{(R)}$ tape의 외측으로부터 일정 부위만 사용하도록 개선하였다. 또한 다양한 시도를 통해 광원의 scan 부위에만 국소적으로 도포하는 방법이 도포시 발생하는 오차를 줄일 수 있음을 확인하였으며, 개선된 시험법을 이용하여 반복성과 선형성이 뛰어난 시험 결과를 얻어낼 수 있었다. 통계 패키지 분석을 통한 시험법의 신뢰성 검토에서도 우수한 결과를 보여 이와 같은 시험법을 통해 in vivo와 in vitro SPF의 보다 정확한 예측 시스템 관계를 구축할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

명화감상과 연계된 확장활동이 유아의 창의성 및 정서지능에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of the Extension Activity with Famous Paintings on Young Children's Creativity and Emotional Intelligence)

  • 본 연구는 명화감상과 연계된 확장활동이 유아의 창의성 및 정서지능에 미치는 영향에 어떠한 효과가 있는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 B광역시에 위치한 C어린이집과 S어린이집 만 5세 유아 31명을 대상으로 실험집단은 명화감상과 연계된 확장활동을 비교집단은 주제별 대그룹활동을 진행하였다. 창의성 측정도구는 김영채(2002)가 번안한 Torrance의 창의성 검사 중 유아에게 적합한 도형검사(Thinking Creatively with Pictures, TTCT: Firural)를 사용하였으며 정서지능 측정도구는 이영자 외(2000)가 개발한 유아용 정서지능 평가도구를 사용하였다. 그 결과 명화감상과 연계된 확장활동은 유아의 창의성 하위요인인 유창성, 독창성, 제목의 추상성 발달에 효과적인 것으로 나타났으며, 명화감상과 연계된 확장활동은 정서지능 하위요인에 모두 통계적으로 유의미하게 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과는 명화감상활동이 유아의 창의성 및 정서지능 발달에 효과적인 것을 나타내 주는 것이며 명화감상과 연계된 확장활동은 의미 있는 교수 방법으로 유아의 통합적 발달 증진에 효과적임을 시사한다.
