People have their own cultural backgrounds and experiences in terms of visual perceptional thinking so that they could misunderstand the cultural symbols, trademarks, Brand Identities, and trade characters, especially, animal trademarks. Sometimes Easterners and Westerners seem to not comprehend the different meanings of the cultural symbols. The signs of twelve Chinese zodiac animals are the typical symbol of the Asian mythology. What I wanted to focus on emphasizing the different views and perspective of an animal trademark is according to the Chinese Zodiac between Eastern and Western cultures. Generally, multiple symbolisms are difficult to comprehend, because they are created by individual ideas and incorporate several mythologies and histories. How do Westerners interpret the implied meaning of Eastern animals in general? How are they going to understand the Eastern animal logos or marks accurately? How can we solve the problem to make people understand their different meanings? There were some confusing pictorial images in the area of the design field when a designer creates an animal mark for globalization and localization. Creating of hybrid symbol is the best way to break the communication barriers with people all around the world.

From the ordinary notion of uniformly strong mixing for a sequence of random variables, a new concept called conditionally uniformly strong mixing is proposed and the relation between uniformly strong mixing and conditionally uniformly strong mixing is answered by examples, that is, uniformly strong mixing neither implies nor is implied by conditionally uniformly strong mixing. A couple of equivalent definitions and some of basic properties of conditionally uniformly strong mixing random variables are derived, and several conditional covariance inequalities are obtained. By means of these properties and conditional covariance inequalities, a conditional central limit theorem stated in terms of conditional characteristic functions is established, which is a conditional version of the earlier result under the non-conditional case.

This study was aimed at reviewing the conceptual framework characterized in the Total Quality Control and the Total Quality Management. It has been observed in recent years that the term TQC and TQM tend tn be used interchangeably without paying much attention to whether the two concepts have identical meaning, or they are as similar as can be applied indiscriminately to the same objectives in handling quality issues. To distinguish between the two, this study relied on reviewing qualify definitions, techniques frequently resorted to, and the main themes implied by each of them. It was concluded that they differ in terms of both techniques and themes, and are not to be applied interchangeably to the handling of the same qualify objectives and problems.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the quality of the constructive play of 3, 4 and 5 year-old children. The researchers used unit blocks as the instrument because they are the most representative examples of constructive play materials. The subjects were 73 children enrolled in a half-day early childhood education program. The children's block play was videotaped 8 times, for a total of 330 minutes. The videotapes were transcribed and assessments were made on the children's 233 constructions in terms of the developmental stage of block play, the variety of materials used, play duration, and play intensity. The data were analyzed through two-way ANOVA to check age and sex differences. The results showed that children's developmental stages of block play were low on the average and that girls did not show an active interest in block play. The results also implied that block play developed by play experience rather than by age. Therefore, this study was interpreted to highlight the importance of teachers' understanding, planning, and mediation of block play in order to induce high-quality constructive play.

Interaction requires dynamic relationship between objects. In ubiquitous computing environment, interaction between human and the environment is implied. Tactile interaction has so far been less addressed, while tactile sensation should be an important topic in the field of multimedia study. This paper describes development of a novel PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) dynamic tactile sensor and associated experiments. PVDF dynamic tactile sensors detect touch events applied to the sensor skin by low frequency components of the signal. Rubber skin-covered sensing material was mounted on the bones. Robust performance with low noise was figured out in our robotic experiment. Whereas most conventional sensors are interested in measurement, our dynamic tactile sensor is sensitive to change of state, which could be a key for economic understanding of happenings in the dynamic world. We note that dynamic sensing uses motion as a part of sensing modality We suggest that dynamic sensing be understood in technological terms in the perspective of interactive media and ubiquitous computing.

It is well kown that the side-jump effect, originated from the spin-orbit scatterring of the transport electrons at the site of spin-orbit scatterers, is the reason for the anomalus Hall resistivity which is proportional to the magnetization. Our recent magnetization study implied that abundant ferromagnetic Fe clusters made of for Fe ions dominate the temperature and field dependence of magnetization at high field and low temperature regime for a paramagnetic $Fe_{0.33}Zr_{0.67}$ alloy. We measured the Hall resistivity of this alloy and observed that the Hall resistivity followed the M-H cure at low temperature, and the Hall coefficients at moderate temperatures were proportional to the magnetic susceptibility. We explain the behavior of Hall resistivity with the change of field and temperature in terms of side-jump effect.

The purpose of the study was to examine early childhood teachers' content knowledge on green growth education. The subjects, 45 early childhood teachers, were asked to draw concept maps about early childhood green growth education. Their concept maps were analyzed in terms of superordinate and subordinate concepts by contents and frequencies. The results showed that early childhood teachers used 182 superordinate and 1,292 subordinate concepts in the concept map of green growth education for young children. Although early childhood teachers had a wealth of content knowledge on green growth education as proposed by the Ministry of Education, their knowledge was disproportionate to some areas and sub-areas of green growth education. These results implied the needs of developing teacher education programs for early childhood green growth education.

Protection characteristics of the corroded steel pile which was served as a pier structure over 8 years in seawater have been examined in terms of corrosion potential, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) and anodic/cathodic polarization curves. The steel structure was sectioned into two parts, waterline(splash zone, just above the seawater surface) and in-water(underwater), and protection characteristics for the two parts were investigated with the application of cathodic protection(CP) by sacrificial anodes using Zn and Al alloys. The main results obtained were as follows; (1) The corrosion potential of waterline zone was higher than that of in-water, which implied that the corrosion of waterline was more severe than that of in-water, (2) As a result of EIS examination, the transition period from the apparent CP to the substantial CP took about twenty to thirty days according to the corrosion condition.

Ethical issues in international trade will first need to be resolved through applicable public methods. However, considering that there is a party who produced and manufactured the goods, that is, a seller, and a buyer who purchased the goods, the area of the public law is now a matter of private law. Since the CISG does not mention the term 'ethics' in the full text, an ethical consideration is needed to interpret using existing provisions. In addition, a review of the validity, explicit and implied conditions, trade usages, or established practices between the parties through the CISG shows that ethical issues between the trading parties subject to the CISG may constitute part of the sales contract. Ethical hardship in the process of implementing the contract can also be seen as a impediment in the CISG. However, the safe way for a party to avoid disputes is to explicitly insert a contract clause incorporating ethical standards in the contract or add related terms and conditions and codes of ethics.

The image intensifier tube that is clinically used gets changed depending on its terms of use. As the brightness gets deteriorated and the performance gets decrease, the X-ray output needs to be increased to maintain the identical diagnosis outcome. As a consequence, the patients are exposed to the increased radiation. Since not many accurate studies have been made, this study measured the conversion factor and resolution depending on the use of the devices that were currently used in Korea. When comparison was made with a device with less than 1 year-use, the conversion factor of a device with 6 year-use got decreased up to 25% while its resolution was reduced from 3.4 lp/mm to 2.5 lp/mm. Such outcome highlights the necessary measures to be supplemented as the increased terms of use implied also the increased radiation exposure among the patients as well as difficulty to conduct an accurate exam.
