Finite element implementation of a steel-concrete bond law for nonlinear analysis of beam-column joints subjected to earthquake type loading

  • Realistic steel-concrete bond/slip relationships proposed in the literature are usually uniaxial. They are based on phenomenological theories of deformation and degradation mechanisms, and various pull-out tests. These relationships are usually implemented using different analytical methods for solving the differential equations of bond along the anchored portion, for particular situations. This paper justifies the concepts, and points out the assumptions underlying the construction and use of uniaxial bond laws. A finite element implementation is proposed using 2-D membrane elements. An application example on an interior beam-column joint illustrates the possibilities of this approach.

  • Control of tool-environment interaction force to comply the robot system to an environment is of vital in many automated process. This paper presents the implementation of an adaptive force control with commercial robot system in two dimensional contour following task. A model reference adaptive control system, combined with the linear compensators, is implemented. That is, a use of adaptive control is to provide an auxiliary control system so that the contour following performance can be improved from that of using linear control system only. Hyperstability is used to derive the adaptive control law. Experimental verification of the proposed control system is obtained using PUMA 560 robot system. Data obtained experimentally shows that the use of additional adaptive control system improves the contour following performance about 30% in RMS contact force errors upon that of the system controlled by the linear compensators only.

  • This paper presents the analysis results obtained by the flight test of reconfiguration flight control system for an aircraft. The reconfiguration flight control system was designed by using control allocation scheme that automatically distributes the demanded control moments determined by control law to each actual control surface. In this paper, some control allocation algorithms for reconfiguration control of general aircraft with redundant control surfaces are summarized and their performance evaluation results through nonlinear simulation and Hardware-In-the-Loop-Simulation (HILS) test are shown. Also, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) system adopted as a platform for the flight test of reconfiguration flight controller and the implementation procedure of reconfiguration flight controller into real-time UAV system were introduced. Finally, flight test results were analyzed.

  • This study is concerned with analysis and reliability evaluation of LV circuit in Cab Cubicle system which controls train to keep safety in High Speed Train. LV circuit is operated with diagnosis system as safety system. In this paper, we suggest a design and an implementation method to analyze LV circuit or trace fault area in LV circuit. This simulator uses 28 package modules and examines input and output by equations. So, user can trace where is fault area. The implemented system can be expected to be useful for long term test and evaluation of circuit in high speed train systems. We expect reduction to diagnosis area or repair time by this simulator.

  • An optical implementation of higher order neural networks based on based principal component analysis and time integration has been described. The principal component analysis combined with time integration allows larger input size than fully spatial neural networks at the cost certain amount of time consumption. This time-integration usage actually breaks down the barrier of the maximum space-bandwidth product that optical systems can offer.

  • Six sigma has been the most influential management innovation program since 1996 in Korea. As a result of successful implementation of 6 sigma, there have been a number of dramatic quality improvement cases. However, no empirical study of 6 sigma implementation study has done especially in the service industry of Korea. This article reviews status of finance companies which implemented 6 sigma programs in Korea and then demonstrates the relationship between 6 sigma problem solving tools such as analysis of variance and graph techniques, etc and project success and operational performance. Customer survey tools, process analysis, and documentation tool are identified as influential tools on project success. Tools of measure steps, customer survey tools, and documentation tool are found as influential tools on operational performance.

  • Occurrences of foodborne disease outbreaks are increasing in Korea. Among the outbreaks, Salmonella, Staphylococcus aureus, Vibrio parahaemolyticus are the most important organisms and meat and meat product the major sources of infection. Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point system is a process control system designed to identify and prevent microbial and other hazards in food production. It is considered to be the best process management system by the National Advisory Committee for Microbiological Criteria for Foods, the National Academy of Science, and the Codex Alimentarius Commission. The Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare established a legal basis for the implementation of the HACCP system in Article 32-2 (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) of the Food Sanitation Act in December 1995. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has granted research funds for the development of this model system for application to traditional food products and processed fishery products as well as to raw meats. Implementation of the HACCP system is an important step and the Korean food industry and the Government are focused on ensuring food safety in Korea.

  • The purpose of the research is to propose an earned-value indicator for technical performance measurements of an ongoing defense R&D project and the associated measurement, analysis and the implementation process for data collection and usages. Furthermore, the study demonstrates the evidences of benefits and validity of the proposed approach through the enabling tool development and its application examples.

  • The solar energy is purity and infinity. Solar power converter were used to convert the electrical energy from the solar arrays to a stable and reliable power source. So many countries research this solar energy system The photovoltaic system is construct many solar cell array. In this paper, new implementation solar system was showed buck converter that V-I curve produced. This system can be used to study the short-term and long-term performances of solar cell and efficiency. This system is a far more cost effective and reliable replacement for field and outdoor flight testing.   • In this paper, we have studied for analysis of the partial discharge(PD) signal in underground transmission line. The PD signal has estimated as detected signal accumulation of a PRPDA method by using Labview, and analyzed with fuzzy algorithm. In our algorithm, we developed system configuration that detected accumulating PD signal using by Labview and programmed fuzzy algorithm can be analyzed the PD signal using with Matlab. With practical PD logic implementation of theoretical detected system and hardware implementation, the device for Hipotronics Company's 50kV setup has generated and then has applied with $15k{\sim}17kV$ with 1:1 time probe. It's also used the LDPE 0.27mmt (scratch error 0.05mmt) to sample for making PD. In conclusion, Our new class of PD detected algorithm has also compared with previous PRPDA or Fuzzy algorithm. which has diagnose more conveniently by adding numerical values.
