  • POWER PC series are common to the Central Processing Unit for Military Single Board Computer. Among them, G4 group, which contains the 74xx series supported by Freescale manufacturer is mainly used in the Military applications. We focus on the Interface between memory and controller. PCB stacking method, component routing, impedance matching and harsh environment for Military spec are the main constraints for implementation. Also, we developed memory as a module for the consideration of Military environments. The overall type of SBC should be designed by the form of 6U VME or 3U VME.

  • This paper proposes an analog type Active Power Filter that adapts to the frequency change of a distributed power supply system. The proposed system removes the harmonic currents in the source power by injecting a compensation current that has the same frequency, 180 degree out of phase with the harmonic currents generated by the load. The detection of the harmonics in the source power for creating the compensating current is realized by a PLL(Phase Lock Loop) and a VCGIC(Voltage Controlled Generalized Impedance Converter). The operation of the proposed system is verified by simulation and experiment.

  • This paper proposes a point of common coupling (PCC) voltage compensation method for islanding microgrids using an improved power sharing control scheme among distributed generators (DGs) without communication. The PCC voltage compensation algorithm is implemented in the droop control scheme to reduce the PCC voltage deviation produced by the droop controller itself and the voltage drop on the line impedance. The control scheme of each individual DG unit is designed to use only locally measured feedback variables and an obtained line impedance to calculate the PCC voltage. Therefore, traditional voltage measurement devices installed at the PCC as well as communication between the PCC and the DGs are not required. The proposed control scheme can maintain the PCC voltage amplitude within an allowed range even to some extent assuming inaccurate line impedance parameters. In addition, it can achieve proper power sharing in islanding microgrids. Experimental results obtained under accurate and inaccurate line impedances are presented to show the performance of the proposed control scheme in islanding microgrids.

  • Electrochemical impedance measurement system using Fourier transform was constructed in the range of the frequencies up to 100 kHz. This system consists of pseudo-random noise generator, specially designed potentiostat, fast data acquisition system, system controller, and computer interface. The performance of the constructed system was found to be almost same as the commercially available system using lock-in amplifier. Measuring time was significantly reduced because the minimum time for the measurement depended on one cycle of the lowest frequency used. It would be possible to study time-varying electrochemical impedance systems such as the initial stages of corrosion processes using this system.

  • This work presents a cable fault monitoring system based on the differential frequency domain reflectometry using a compact impedance analyser which is composed of a direct digital synthesizer, an op amp and a gain/phase detector with a micro controller. The proposed system can replace expensive vector network analysers for frequency domain reflectometry and therefore be deployed in sensor networks for long term multi-point cable monitoring. Effectiveness of the system is experimentally confirmed by diagnosing the status of the power cable.

  • In this paper, we propose a legged landing platform for the quadcopter taking off and landing in the ship environment. In the ship environment with waves and winds, the aircraft has risks being overturned by contact impact and excessive inclination during landing on the ship. This landing platform has four landing legs under the quadcopter for balancing and shock relief. In order to make the quadcopter balanced on ships, the position of each end effector was controlled by PID control. And shocks have mainly happened when quadcopter contacts the ship's surface as well as legs move fast. Hence, impedance control was used to cope with the shocks. The performance of the landing platform was demonstrated by a simulation and a prototype in three sea states based on a specific size of a ship. During landing and tracking the slope of the ship's surface, oscillations of rotation and translation from the shock were mitigated by the controller. As a result, it was verified that transient response and stability got better by adding impedance control in simulation models and prototype experiments.

  • In this paper, an active damping control scheme for LLCL filters based on the PR (proportional-resonant) regulator is proposed for grid-connected three-level T-type PWM converter systems. The PR controller gives an infinite gain at the resonance frequency. As a result, the oscillation can be suppressed at that frequency. In order to improve the stability of the system in the case of grid impedance variations, online grid impedance estimation is applied. Simulation and experimental results have verified the effectiveness of the proposed scheme for three-phase T-type AC/DC PWM converters.

  • In this study, we implement the multiple frequency bioelectrical impedance analysis system for body composition analysis. Overall system consists of : 1) conductivity electrodes to contact with hands and foots, 2) multiple frequency alternating current signal generator for generating 5, 50, 250kHz frequency and 800uA contained alternating current signal, 3) voltage signal detector, 4) phase signal detector, 5) key-pad to input individual information, 6) micro controller for data processing, 7) LCD for processed data to display, 8) system power, We explain the architecture of the system and required theory to implement the system. Finally, experimental results are illustrated to show the performance of the system.

  • Micro-grid is connected to the main power grid through a static switch. One of the critical issues in micro-grids is protection which must disconnect the micro-grid from the network in short-circuit contingencies. Protective methods of micro-grid mainly follow the model of distribution system protection. This protection scheme suffers from improper operation due to the presence of single-phase loads, imbalance of three-phase loads and occurrence of power swings in micro-grid. In this paper, a new method which prevents from improper performance of static micro-grid protection is proposed. This method works based on artificial neural network (ANN) and able to differentiate short circuit from power swings by measuring impedance and the rate of impedance variations in PCC bus. This new technique provides a protective system with higher reliability.

  • In this paper, we present the 3DOF force-reflecting interface which allows to acquire force of object within a virtual environment. This system is composed of device, virtual environment model, and force-reflecting rendering algorithm. We design a 3 DOF force-reflecting device using the parallel linkage, torque shared by wire, and the controller of system applied by impedance control algorithm. The force-reflecting behaviour implemented as a function position is equivalent to controlling the mechanical impedance felt by the user. Especially how force should be supplied to user, we know using a God-Object algorithm. As we experiment a system implemented by the interface of 3D virtual object and 3DOF force-reflecting interface, we can feel a contact, non-contact of 3D virtual object surface and sensing of push button model.
