This study researched the elements about seafood culture among the archetypes of 『Jasan Urbo』. We built a hypothesis on 100 species of fish presented in 『Jasan Urbo』 to extract archetypes from them. To prove this hypothesis, we analyzed the properties of archetypes according to recipes. Next, we grasped the food preferences of past ages by inspecting 'taste' words of the literature. Finally, we examined the relations between dominant features of cuisine and fish preferences. We have found four attributes of maritime cultural archetypes. Our research has limitations since we could not had accounted the whole fish species of 『Jasan Urbo』. However, we achieved the huge outcome by our research, in which we applied various extraction methods of archetypes and acquired the dominance of maritime cultural archetypes and preferences.

Color selection plays a vitally important role in creating impressions of individuals or companies. This is largely because colors have sensibility aspects, which relate, in part, to images and, in part, to associations. Based on theories of color harmony and sensibility ergonomics, we have developed quantitative and systematic metrics for color images. In this paper, we suggest a color coordinate system that supports color analysis and color harmony functions using color images, which can be captured by corresponding adjectival words. We focus on a prototype system for graphical logo design to exemplify our concepts. The system can be applied to a wide variety of design domains.

In this study and design, I explore the visual communication design process related to wayfinding in Wonkwang University Hospital in Iksan City. The purpose for designing an integrated is to graphically communicate the complex information. I have designed a graphic information system combining graphic elements such as typography, color, image and text layout, and graphic image to present interpretive and communicative processes. As a result of designing, the wayfinding is s term used to describe the program of applying environmental graphics and or architectural sign systems. In other words, wayfinding is the art of helping people find their way by utilizing visual communications such as signs, directories, landmarks, edges, paths and so on. Wayfinding can also be explained as the ability to know where one is in space and how to find one's way through space. Wayfinding design then becomes a systematic arrangement of the variables that allows patients and visitors to successfully find their desired destinations, especially in a hospital.

This study aims to propose using English reading strategies to enhance Intercultural Communicative Competence (ICC) for EFL learners. The study recruited college-level participants who were enrolled in a general English reading course (N=30) and administrated the surveys with a Repeated Measures Design (RMD). In the survey, an intercultural sensitivity scale and metacognitive reading strategies inventory were conducted for comparison. During the instruction, participants were asked to use the R.I.D.E.R. (i.e. Read, Image, Describe, Evaluate, and Repeat) strategy for visualization of text, which is aimed at facilitating the use of metacognitive reading strategies. In the results, participants showed a statistically significant increase both in the intercultural sensitivity level and the use of metacognitive reading strategies after the practice of R.I.D.E.R for one semester. Further analysis was appended to the results by the correlation and regression analysis, and proposed that participants benefit their development of intercultural sensitivity from the use of metacognitive reading strategies. Therefore, the study suggests that implementing metacognitive reading strategies facilitates college EFL readers to increase their cultural sensitivity, which empowers ICC through English reading (176words).

Let f:M.rarw.N be a smooth map between Rioemannian manifolds M and N. If f maps geodesics of M to geodesics of N, f is called totally geodesic. As is well known, totally geodesic maps are harmonic and the image f(M) of a totally geodesic map f:M.rarw. N is an immersed totally geodesic submanifold of N (cf. .cint. 6.3 of [W]). We are interested in the following question: When is a harmonic map f:M .rarw. N with rank .leq. 1 everywhere on M totally geodesic\ulcorner In other words, when is the image of a harmonic map f:M .rarw. N with rank .leq. 1 everywhere on M geodesics of N\ulcorner In this note, we give some sufficient conditions on curvatures of M. It is interesting that no curvature assumptions on target manifolds are necessary in Theorems 1 and 2. Some properties of totally geodesic maps are also given in Theorem 3. We think our Theorem 3 is somewhat unusual in view of the following classical theorem of Eells and Sampson (see pp.124 of [ES]).

Median filter(MF) has often been applied to color or gray images as a noise fiilter in image processing . Application of MF to binary images was tried in this study. For binary images, MF not only can remove noise but can also work as an indicator showing the dominant color in a region which is called window . Fro example, MF can be used to categorize clusters and to detect interested parts of an object. In other words, MF can also be used to remove unnecessary parts. The function of MF can be intensified by introducing a thresholding value, which is determined by the size of the interested part of an object. This improved MF for binary images is called the modified median filter(MMF), and its applicability to grade produce will be discussed in this paper.

Aggravation of natural environment, improvements in income, internet diffusion, spread of five-day work a week, and population aging seem very different from each other. However they boil down to consumption. These culture patterns are changing into environment-friendly and productive housing culture. In other words, people might tend to have frequent contacts with not only environment-friendly housing in bustling cities but also woods that is environment friendly materials in their leisure time. In the period of people young and old alike are in favor of woodcrafts, this study was conducted for giving information to who speicalized in woodcrafts. Furthermore, the study shows that other countries also added grain and figure to woodcrafts for visually appealing.

본 논문에서는 영상신호의 변환부호화 시스템에서 통계적으로 독립적인 채널 전송오류의 영향을 MSE로 계산하였다. 양자화가 입력신호의 확률밀도함수를 Laplacian, Gaussian, 그리고 uniform분포로 가정하였으며, 양자화된 신호의 부호화시 사용되는 코드로는 NBC, FBC, MDC 및 Gray code가 고려되었다. 본 연구의 결과들로부터, 양자화기입력신호의 확률밀도함수에 따라 어떠한 코드로 부호화하는 것이 채널 전송오류의 영향을 작게 받는가를 알 수 있다.

Today multi-item and small lot production has been applied to the general production system for consumers' needs. Therefore the production for consumers' needs have been product every moment, and buying have been made through various forms. But it is not easy for consumers to find the products which they want among many products. Furthermore although in the internet shopping mall many products can be presented to consumers, there are no ways to search fast the products which they want. This study has observed the fact that generally consumers' purchasing start with the image of products for their needs. So we suggest the way to show fast the most near products which consumers want in the internet by accepting Kansei words as product image.

본 논문에서는 클라우드 서버와 영상 품질 향상 알고리즘을 이용하여 고화질의 영상을 서비스하는 방법을 소개한다. 즉, 논문에서 제안하는 ViVa (Video Value Addition)의 개념을 바탕으로 저화질 영상을 서비스하는데 필요한 전송 비트레이트와 계산량으로 고화질의 영상을 서비스함으로써 기존 스트리밍 서비스 대비 향상된 시스템을 제안한다.
