  • The purpose of this study was to analyzed the types of Deformation dipicted on the late 1990s western costumes. The late 20th century cultural experience or lifestyle is interpreted with 'popular culture' ,popular culture is described as cultural phenomenon in postmodern condition. Contemporary popular culture may no longer be strictly 'working-class' as the idealistic purists of political formalism would like to , but does emerge from subordinate cultures, from the inventive edges of the consensus, and from the previously ignored and suppressed. It gestured through a widening democratization of styles, sounds and images, to an important remarking , to new possibilities , new perpectives, new projects. The growing importance of popular culture as a source for change of expression in the art, expecially new desire and will of artists has been caused lots of ' Deformation' in their works. Deformation, doesn't mean to represent object faithfully as it were seen through the artist's eyes. In a sense it implies that artists deform it with conscious or unconscious form. So in this study , the phenomenon of the postmodern western costumes is to describe ' formative language' called 'Deformation.' and it is classified three types, that is, 'Deformation of human-body image.' , Deformation of silhouette.' 'Deformation of detail.'. First , Deformation of human-body image is represented by deconstructive , subversive image in western costumes, a lot of costumes types of deconstruction have been shown by fashion designers are emphasized empathy with Deformation of human-body image. Second, Deformation of silhouette is also represented subversion of traditional manner and ultiity, underwear and outwear structure and ugly image. parody image of postumodernism , and so on. Above all, the late 1990s western costumes with Deformation of silhouette was an infinitely larger and more complex world than it appeared from outside and has expressed as a rejection against the values which traditional aesthetic concept had pursued, And parody through the change of internal meaning is to bring about parodox, irony, contempt, satire , unexpectedness by applying the original to inapproporate subject through its substition, inversion. Third, Deformation of detail is represented overdecoration, exaggerative distortion of for , overlapping and fetish image, parody image, kitsch image, and so on , Once fetish achieve a certain' style factor' among trendsettler, they are picked up by internationally famous fashion designers, The characteristics of kitsch are overdecoration , unfitness , imitation , used western costumes.

  • GcGAN is a deep learning model to translate styles between images under geometric consistency constraint. However, GcGAN has a disadvantage that it does not properly maintain detailed content of an image, since it preserves the content of the image through limited geometric transformation such as rotation or flip. Therefore, in this study, we propose a new image-to-image translation method, MSGcGAN(Multi-Scale GcGAN), which improves this disadvantage. MSGcGAN, an extended model of GcGAN, performs style translation between images in a direction to reduce semantic distortion of images and maintain detailed content by learning multi-scale images simultaneously and extracting scale-invariant features. The experimental results showed that MSGcGAN was better than GcGAN in both quantitative and qualitative aspects, and it translated the style more naturally while maintaining the overall content of the image.

  • In this paper we introduce a new approach to stroke based rendering using brush stroke profile. Our proposed method, based on image retrieval method, is a simple but flexible and scalable method to create various painting styles, for which scalable database constructed with the collection of real stroke data is used. Input image is reproduced with combinations of brush stoke in the database, when a search process to determinate appropriate brush stroke and a judgment process to decide whether to draw the retrieved brush stroke on the canvas or not are presented. In addition, this paper suggests a new brush stroke model and a depiction technique in order to utilize effective height information which allows natural texture depiction, or good visual effect, without carrying out physical simulation. Our method is able to create diverse variations of painting by controling various user parameters. It also provides scalable framework that can produce various painting styles with different artistic media by changing the stroke combinations of stroke database.

  • Expression of woman characters in fusion traditional dramas plays a role of making the progress of dramas not bigoted and new. Especially, woman characters have a high weight as a heroine by an increase in their image in fusion traditional dramas. Expression of characters harmonizing modern with tradition has also given a help in reflecting a trend of the present times. Hair style and face makeup of woman characters in fusion traditional dramas are in the process of fusionization getting an effect from postmodernism. They are expressing the hair style of symbolization modern elements of hair style to traditional hair styles. They also expressed a neutral image with faded hair styles in the shaggy cut style and dye of neoplaticism. Neo-hippie style was changed into the style of naturalism and nationalism and the hair style braided in various branches as the one of Indians was changed into a primitive and national feature. It is producing a new style by permitting even a long-hair permanent wave hair style. Expression of straight hair style, a long-hair shaggy & bulging wave style and a hair style of neoplaticism, was distinguished. In the side of face makeup, they expressed its luxurious and splendid style by attaching great importance to its luster and are exposing images of characters by a smoky makeup emphasizing eye lines. Their face makeup was almost never separated from present dramas as using pearl shadow in a glossy lips makeup and color, which made it possible to express it more dramatically in fusion traditional dramas than in present dramas. In the event of the makeup element of fusion traditional dramas permitting diversity, the character makeup of fusion traditional dramas made a foundation to show people diverse elements of makeup by mix & match a present elements and past elements of historical research, which made it possible to express a unique makeup or a special makeup. Diverse makeup expressions were limited by reflection of illumination even in the existing videos. Therefore, 'Fusion' made it possible to express it more freely in fusion traditional dramas than in present dramas.

  • Although face recognition and face generation have been growing in popularity, the privacy issues of using facial images in the wild have been a concurrent topic. In this paper, we propose a face editing network that can reduce privacy issues by generating face images with various properties from a small number of real face images and facial mask information. Unlike the existing methods of learning face attributes using a lot of real face images, the proposed method generates new facial images using a facial segmentation mask and texture images from five parts as styles. The images are then trained with our network to learn the styles and locations of each reference image. Once the proposed framework is trained, we can generate various face images using only a small number of real face images and segmentation information. In our extensive experiments, we show that the proposed method can not only generate new faces, but also localize facial attribute editing, despite using very few real face images.

  • This research endeavors to categorize a diverse range of hairstyles for both men and women in South Korea using hair images and subsequently generate 3D hair models based on this classification. The classification process relies on prominent visual features, resulting in the division of hairstyles into 14 distinct categories, including six styles for men and eight styles for women. By accurately matching the most appropriate hairstyle to the given hair image, the study aims to provide recommendations for the necessary hair models required for metaverse authoring tools, thus enabling realistic hair styling. This capability can be effectively utilized on platforms like metaverse, allowing users to seamlessly find and apply the 3D hair model that closely resembles their remotely captured or pre-existing hair images. Through this innovative approach, users can be presented with the most similar 3D hair model, enhancing their virtual hairstyling experience.

  • A fuzzy weighted mean method on a 2D shape recognition system is introduced in this paper. The bispectrum based on third order cumulant is applied to the contour sequence of each image for the extraction of a feature vector. This bispectral feature vector, which is invariant to shape translation, rotation and scale, represents a 2D planar image. However, to obtain the best performance, it should be considered certain criterion on the calculation of weights for the fuzzy weighted mean method. Therefore, a new method to calculate weights using means by differences of feature values and their variances with the maximum distance from differences of feature values. is developed. In the experiments, the recognition results with fifteen dimensional bispectral feature vectors, which are extracted from 11.808 aircraft images based on eight different styles of reference images, are compared and analyzed.

  • Hatching is an effective artistic tool for conveying shape and shading by placing parallel line strokes on drawing objects. We present a simple and effective per-pixel image-space hatching method to draw line strokes using given stroke directions. Our hatching method directly runs on the screen and it can efficiently render highly complex scenes in hatching styles. We implement the algorithm using a pixel shader in a modern GPU.

  • In retailing, it seems very important to examine how consumers perceive in store design factors such as instore space for walking, product arrangement styles, instore display types, window sizes, and possibly others. Furthermore, consumers perceptions of various designs would be differentiated by consumers shopping patterns such as actual shopping versus window shopping. This article empirically investigates how various desings create different consumer reactions measured by consumer mood and store image depending on the types of consumer shopping. It was found that design factors such as open, focused, and big would create better consumer mood and consumer perceptions of store image than closed, unfocused, and small. Another finding was that consumer perceptions would interact with consumer shopping patterns. Based on the research findings, some implications are discussed in the article.

  • This study focused on situational simularity of psychedelic expressed in the mid-1960s with culture including costume in the end of 20th century. So this study is composed of psychedelic concept and the comparision of temporal background and general characteristics of psychedelia in the 1960s and 1990s and relationship with Art-Nouveau which has originated psychedelia and psycheelic image including mysticism play illusionism and narcissism. The New psychedelic revival of the early 1980s came at a time when as in the mid-1960s the world's attentions were firmly focused on British youth. The same could be said of the mid-1990s when 'BriPop' once again has international appeal and the result has been a kind of New New Psychedelic revival with all manner of British youth styles from the 1960s blended together. The swirling patterns hallucinogenic colors and space-aged designs of the psychedelics have become a symbolic representation of cocktail of youth sex and optimism
