A new 1D oxalato bridged compound Ni(en)(ox)-2$H_2$O, (ox = oxalate; en = ethylenediamine) has been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, IR spectrum, TG analysis, and magnetic measurements. In the structure the Ni atoms are coordinated with four oxygen atoms in two oxalate ions and two nitrogen atoms in one ethylenediamine molecule. The oxalate anion acts as a bis-bidentate ligand bridging Ni atoms in cis-configuration. This completes the infinite zigzag neutral chain, [Ni(en)(ox)]. The interchain space is filled by water molecules that link the chains through a network of hydrogen bonds. Thermal variance of the magnetic susceptibility shows a broad maximum around 50 K characteristic of one-dimensional antiferromagnetic coupling. The theoretical fit of the data for T > 20 K led to the nearest neighbor spin interaction J = -43 K and g = 2.25. The rapid decrease in susceptibility below 20 K indicate this compound to be a likely Haldane gap candidate material with S = 1.

Protonated caffeine ($CH^+$) and glucosamine ($GH^+$) overlapped in an analysis with ion mobility spectrometryquadrupole mass spectrometry. Ethyl lactate vapor (L) at different concentrations from 0 to 22 mmol $m^{-3}$ was added as a buffer gas modifier to separate these signals. The drift times of $CH^+$ and $GH^+$ increased with L concentration. The drift time increase was associated to clustering equilibria of $CH^+$ and $GH^+$ with one molecule of L and the equilibrium of $GH^+$ was more displaced to the formation of $GLH^+$ than that of $GLH^+$. $GH^+$ clustered more to L than $CH^+$ because $GLH^+$ formed more stable hydrogen bonds (26.30 kcal/mol) than $GLH^+$ (24.66 kcal/mol) and the positive charge in $GH^+$ was more sterically accessible than in $CH^+$. The aim of this work was to use theoretical calculations to guide the selection of a buffer gas modifier for IMS separations of two compounds that overlap in the mobility spectra and predict this separation, simplifying that empirical process.
the molecular and crystal 3-dimensional structure of bentazone, C10H12N2O3S, has been determined from single crystal x-ray diffraction study. Crystal system is monoclinic: a=8.7817(9)Å, b=9.6059(9) Å, c=13.574(9) Å, β=97.269(1)', V=1136.1(6)Å, space group : P21/c, z=4. The molecular structure model was solved by direct method and refined by full matrix least squares. The final reliable factor, R, is 0.045 for 1396 independent reflections(Fo2>4σFo2). A molecule has a staggered conformation with thiocarbazin ring and isopropyl functional group and the molecules by hydrogen bonds are cross stacked along the c-axis.
The present research work reports a low temperature ($40^{\circ}C$) chemical precipitation technique for synthesizing hydroxyapatite (HAp) nanoparticles of spherical morphology through a simple reaction of calcium nitrate tetrahydrate and di-ammonium hydrogen phosphate at pH 11. The crystallinity of the single-phase nanoparticles could be improved by calcinating at $600^{\circ}C$ in air. Thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA) revealed the synthesized HAp is stable up to $1200^{\circ}C$. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) studies confirmed the formation of spherical nanoparticles with average size of $23.15{\pm}2.56nm$ and Ca/P ratio of 1.70. Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) isotherm of the nanoparticles revealed their porous structure with average pore size of about 24.47 nm and average surface area of $78.4m2g^{-1}$. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) was used to confirm the formation of P-O, OH, C-O chemical bonds. Cytotoxicity and MTT assay on MG63 osteogenic cell lines revealed nontoxic bioactive nature of the synthesized HAp nanoparticles.

A new precursor [$Zr(acac)_{3}(H_{2}O)_{2}$] was synthesized by Sonochemical technique and used to deposit thin $ZrO_{2}$ film on quartz and ceramic substrate via ultrasonic aerosol assisted chemical vapour deposition (UAACVD) at 300 ${^{\circ}C}$ in oxygen environment followed by annealing of the sample for 2-3 minutes at 500 ${^{\circ}C}$ in nitrogen ambient. The molecular structure of the precursor determined by single crystal X-ray analysis revealed that the molecules are linked through intermolecular hydrogen bonds forming pseudo six and eight membered rings. DSC and TGA/FTIR techniques were used to determine thermal behavior and decomposition temperature of the precursor and nature of evolved gas products. The optical measurement of annealed $ZrO_{2}$ film with tetragonal phase shows optical energy band gap of 5.01 eV. The particle size, morphology, surface structure and composition of deposited films were investigated by XRD, SEM and EDX.
Notable blue shifts of the ν2 $C{\equiv}N$ stretching, $_{v4}$ C-C stretching and $_{v8}$ CCN deformation bands of $CD_3CN$ are observed upon solvation of $InCl_3$, resulting from the donor-acceptor interaction. The Raman spectrum in the $_{v2}$ region shows further details; at least two new bands emerge on the blue side of the $_{v2}$ band of free $CD_3CN$, whose relative intensities vary with concentration, suggesting that there exist at least two different cationic species in the solution. The strong hydrogen bonds formed between the methyl group and ${InCl_4}^-$ result in a large band appearing on the red side of the ν1 $CD_3$ symmetric stretching band. The solvation number of $InCl_3$, determined from the Raman intensities of the $C{\equiv}N$ stretching bands for free and coordinated $CD_3CN$, increases from $\sim$1.5 to $\sim$1.8 with decreasing concentration.

The conformational properties of oligosaccharides are important to understand carbohydrate-protein interactions. A trimannoside, methyl 3,6-di-O-($\alpha$-D-Man)-$\alpha$-D-Man (TRIMAN) is a basic unit of N-linked oligosaccharides. This TRIMAN moiety was further modified by GlcNAc (BISECT), which is important to biological activity of N-glycan. To characterize the trimannoside and its bisecting one we performed a molecular dynamics simulation in water. The resulting models show the conformational transition with two major and minor conformations. The major conformational transition results from the $\omega$ angle transition; another minor transition is due to the $\psi$ angle transition of $\alpha$ (1 $\rightarrow$ 6) linkage. The introduction of bisecting GlcNAc on TRIMAN made the different population of the major and minor conformations of the TRIMAN moiety. Omega ($\omega$) angle distribution is largely changed and the population of gt conformation is increased in BISECT oligosaccharide. The inter-residue hydrogen bonds and water bridges via bisecting GlcNAc residue make alterations on the local and overall conformation of TRIMAN moiety. These changes of conformational distribution for TRIMAN moiety can affect the overall conformation of N-glycan and the biological activity of glycoprotein.
Two novel binuclear metal-organic coordination complexes [$Cd_2(Hdpa)_4(bpy)_2$] (1), [$Dy_2(dpa)_2(bpy)_2(NO_3)_2-(H_2O)_2$](bpy) (2) (where $H_2dpa$ = biphenyl-2,2'-dicarboxylic acid, bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine) have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, spectral method (IR), elemental analysis (EA), powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), electronic spectra (UV-vis), fluorescent in the solid state and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Complexes 1-2 crystallizes isomorphously in the Triclinic space group P-1. The ${\pi}-{\pi}$ stacking interactions and hydrogen-bonds play a vital role in determining the crystal packing and construction of the extended 3-D supramolecular network.
Bifunctional Fe-SBA-15-$SO_3H$ mesoporous materials with different Si/Fe molar ratios (3, 5, and 7) have been synthesized via a simple direct hydrothermal method and characterized by XRD, $N_2$-adsorption/desorption, TG/DTG and FT-IR techniques, and used as solid acid catalysts in the esterification of lactic acid with methanol. XRD and $N_2$ sorption characterizations show successful iron doping within the mesoporous channels of SBA-15-$SO_3H$. The FT-IR and TG/DTG characterizations also reveal the presence of iron. With the incorporation of Fe ions into the SBA-15-$SO_3H$, the acid sites substantially increased because of the self-separated acidity of the hydrolysis of $Fe^{3+}$ solutions. However, in the Si/Fe = 3 molar ratio, the catalytic conversion decreased which is caused by the reduced cooperation effect between the acid pairs due to the weakened hydrogen bonds and collapse of the pore structure. This further suggests that the mesoporous structure decreases with the decrease in Si/Fe ratio.

PU block polymers are constituted by sequences of constitutional units CU which are : a diisocyanate T, a polyol or a polyamine V, an extensor E .Due to the CU different solubility parameters ,hard and soft micro domains are formed;they can aggregate into different phases. A linear PU can be described by two parameters R=T/N and $R_{E}$=(R-1)V/E.A stoichiometric model is proposed which gives the general formula of all the possible PU: X((TV)$_{k}$(TE)$_{n}$)$_{m}$X , where k and m can be calculated from the experimental molecular weights respectively of pre polymer and polymer and n= R-1.Physical properties depend on PU composition and on nature of CU. I.R. analysis is useful for discovering the hydrogen bonds location : DSC gives informations on the presence of the different phases .PALS analysis shows that nano cavities become tighter on increasing n. A series of particular Pus ,obtained from :TDI, a low molecular weight polyol, a cyclic extensor, at different R and RE was prepared and analysed. These PU are amorphous, monophasic and appear to be good candidates for membranes.nes.nes.
