종합병원 간호사의 직업성 요통 실태조사 및 요인분석 (Surveying and Analyzing the Occupational Low Back Pains in General Hospital Nurses)

  • Despite improved working environment with increased automation in industry, the nursing professions are subject to great deal of potential occupational risks, including chemical exposure, occupational stress, and musculoskeletal stress. In this study, we investigated the work-related Low Back Pains(LBPs) among hospital nursing profession by questionnaire survey. The results showed that over 89% of nursing personnel answered had experienced work-related LBPs. Among these personnel, patient handling caused more than 78% of the incidents occurring at work. This study will thus contribute as a basic reference to the hospitals and ergonomic practitioners for nursing profession training program development, facility and equipment redesign, and for guiding future research concerning prevention of this very important occupational health problem.

PACS와 OCS연동으로 인한 방사선사 업무의 효율성 비교 (Efficiency Comparison of Radiological Work in the integration environment of PACS and OCS)

  • Information concerning a patient visit is to be sent from the OCS(Order Communication System) to the PACS(Picture archiving and Communication System) and when the image acquisition is completed, information regarding the procedures also actually preformed should be sent back to the OCS. It should be possible to present related medical information from the OCS at the same image workstation in a coherent way with the images in the PACS, Examples of the related medical information are: the report of a diagnostic image procedure, data on medication, laboratory results, admission and discharge letters, and surgery reports, because we could maximize the efficiency of Radiological Work, like decrease examination time and human mistakes, though the integration of PACS and OCS, Therefore, We research some hospitals to find integral lists of PACS and OCS but there are no sufficient ingredients. Further, the percentage of Integral lists of PACS and OCS is different in all hospitals because there is no such standard yet like HL7(Healthcare Level 7) and DICOM(Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine). Accordingly, if all hospital would follow national standard like HL7 and DICOM, the integration of OCS and PACS would be efficient but in this situation radiological technician should take part in construction integration system of PACS and OCS positively, so we could improve efficiency of radiological work and our status.

일부 치과위생사의 근무환경이 직무만족과 조직몰입에 미치는 영향 (The effect of dental hygienist's work environment on job satisfaction and organizational commitment)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to analyze the descriptive correlation of the commission intended to provide effective working practices to enhance job satisfaction and organizational engagement by examining the work environment of the dental hygienist. Methods: After the IRB approval, the subjects were dental hygienists working for dental hospitals and clinics in Busan from May 1st to May 31th of 2017. And the final 153 questionnaires were analyzed to SPSS 23.0 for windows, SPSS Inc. Chicago, IL. USA. The data was analyzed using average standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA and multiple regression analysis. Results: The average working environment of the subjects was found to be $3.37{\pm}0.53$ points with the average job satisfaction of the subjects of $3.29{\pm}0.50$ points and the average organizational commitment of the subjects of $3.25{\pm}0.59$ points. As the working conditions of the working environment are higher, it revealed that the higher the working environment, the better the job satisfaction. Conclusions: In conclusion, this study showed that the ability to support managers' abilities, leadership, and dental hygienists is the most influential factor in job satisfaction and organizational involvement. Also, hospital administrators are encouraged to provide excellent work and leadership skills to enhance both the quality of work and that of work ethic.

종합병원 간호사의 업무몰입 관련요인 (Work Engagement and Associated Factors among General Hospital Nurses)

  • 본 연구는 종합병원 간호사의 업무몰입 관련 요인을 파악하고자 실시한 서술적 조사연구이다. 연구의 대상자는 D광역시와 K지역에 위치한 3개의 종합병원에 재직하고 있는 114명의 간호사이다. 수집된 자료는 IBM SPSS Statistics 25 프로그램을 사용하여 descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlations, stepwise multiple regression으로 분석하였다. 본 연구에서 업무몰입의 평균평점은 3.08점이었으며, 감정노동 하부요인 중 전문직 감정조절 노력은 3.82점, 대상자 중심 감정 억제는 3.28점, 규범에 의한 감정 가장은 3.22점이었으며 간호근무환경은 2.59점이었다. 업무몰입은 감정노동 하부요인 중 전문직 감정조절 노력(r=.30, p=.001), 대상자 중심 감정 억제(r=.20, p=.030)와 유의한 양의 상관관계를 보였고, 간호근무환경과도 유의한 양의 상관관계(r=.21, p=.024)가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 업무몰입은 연령, 직위, 전문직 감정조절 노력과 관계가 있었으며 이들 세 변수는 업무몰입을 20%(F=10.37, p<.001)설명하였다. 따라서 업무몰입 향상을 위한 전략 수립 시 연령과 직위를 고려해야 하며, 감정노동이 발생할 수 있는 상황에서 전문직 감정조절 노력을 강화할 수 있는 전략을 찾는 노력이 이어져야 할 것이다.

치과위생사의 실내공기질에 의한 자각증상 특성 (A subjective symptom on indoor air quality in dental hygienist)

  • This research is based on self-filling survey which 220 dental hygienists who work in seoul participated on July 2006 through August 2006. This survey was analyzed the experience item and occurred time of the symptoms and the time of acute and vanish of the symptoms that dental office's working environment effects on physical subjective symptom. We suggest a plan to minimizing physical subjective symptom for health manage of dental hygienist. We found out the fact that dental hygienists were unsatisfied with hospital air condition and this polluted air condition cause them physical subjective symptom in work place. As follows analyzed results ventilation time is below the 3-times a day, this may be have some trouble in indoor air quality. The experience the symptoms level is higher then non-experience level in "Fatigue and sleepiness", "Dorsalgia, omarthralgia, cervicodynia", "Hypersensitivity", "Dry eye, itch, smarting", "Headaches" and a subjective symptom is occurred at after 11:00(am) more then 60%, 50% of the dental hygienist. This experience the symptom' pain is vanished after the work and reduced when go out the office and building, respectively. The ratio of the experience the symptoms and starting time the symptoms is anywhere from 12 noon to 4 pm (73.2%) in a day. The time of acute pain the symptoms is anywhere from 12 noon to 4 pm (78.7%) refer to the individual characteristics and work environment.

Barriers to Counseling on Advance Directives Based on Counselors' Experiences: Focus Group Interviews

  • Purpose: In Korea, since the Act on Hospice and Palliative Care and Decisions on Life-Sustaining Treatment for Patients at the End of Life was implemented in February 2018, advance directives (ADs) have become legally effective and should be documented after sufficient explanation by a registered counselor. However, little is known regarding the adequacy of current AD counseling. This qualitative study aimed to explore the barriers to AD counseling based on counselors' experiences. Methods: We conducted focus group interviews using purposive sampling. Seven counselors working at hospitals, community health institutions, and non-profit organizations participated in this study. They were asked about the challenges and problems they encountered during AD counseling. Results: Three themes emerged from this study; 1) issues regarding consistency in AD counseling, 2) issues regarding AD counselors' competency and work environment, and 3) issues regarding the adequacy of the service system. The interviewees stated that the lack of a manual for standardized service made AD counseling inconsistent. The limited competency and poor work environment of counselors were pointed out as major barriers. The interviewees also stated that a proper service system considering individual circumstances is absent. Conclusion: The goals of AD counseling should be clarified and guidance should be implemented for providing standardized services. Further efforts to enhance the competency of AD counselors and to improve their working conditions are needed. Establishing an integrated framework for an adequate service system is also essential to overcome systematic barriers to AD counseling.

공감리더십과 구조적 임파워먼트 중심의 지지적 업무환경이 간호사 직무만족에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Supportive Work Environment on the Job Satisfaction of Registered Nurses : Resonant Leadership and Structural Empowerment)

  • Objectives : This study aimed to investigate the effects of resonant leadership and structural empowerment on the job satisfaction of registered nurses working in hospitals. Methods : Data were surveyed from 307 nurses in three general hospitals in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do using self-administered questionnaires from March 15 to 31, 2016. We conducted t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS 21.0 for analysis. Results : Resonant leadership and structural empowerment had significant effect on the job satisfaction of nurses. These two attributes of a quality work environment explained 45.3% and 40.1% of the variance in organizational and opportunity satisfaction while controlling for age, marital status, religion, education, work department, work type, career and work position. Conclusions : The findings of this study suggest that resonant leaders and structural empowerments contribute to nurse job satisfaction. Therefore, developing resonant leadership skills and structural empowerment among nurse leaders in hospitals will ensure the creation of healthy work environments that promote job satisfaction and retention of nurses.

치과진료실에서 수행되는 치과진료 협조업무에 대한 질적연구 - 간호조무사를 중심으로 - (A qualitative study on dental clinical assistance work performed in dental clinics - Focusing on nursing assistant -)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for elucidating the clinical experiences of nursing assistants working at dental clinics and for establishing the bases necessary for building a safe working environment for the staff at dental clinics. Methods: From March 28 to August 20, 2022, the study conducted in-depth interviews with nursing assistants working with dental hygienists in dental clinics. The collected data were analyzed using the phenomenological method. Results: The study analyzed the meanings associated with the dental clinical assistance work experiences of nursing assistants in dental clinics. A total of 98 semantic words and 9 sub-categories were extracted, which were ultimately categorized into 4 central meanings: 'imperfect reality', 'work without boundaries', 'putting oneself in someone else's shoes', and 'symbiosis'. Conclusions: The nursing assistants were exposed to an environment where they needed to perform delegated treatment procedures even when they lacked dental work competency. They recognized their gaps in learning and the necessity for designated roles as clinical assistants. Thus, it is necessary to review the allocation and expansion of the work roles of dental practitioners based on the practical and rational realities in dental practice.

작업장에서의 유해 유기용제 폭로에 관한 연구 (Investigation of toxic organic solvent exposure in work places)

  • The purpose of this work was to document the conditions regarding organic solvent exposure to the workers in paint industry. Air concentrations of organic solvents were measured by passive personal samplers and analyzed by a gas chromatography. Urine samples for hippuric test were also taken from 330 workers who have worked at seven domestic factories for more than two years. Amongst 25 organic elements detected in the indoor environment of working places, toluene was the most common element, and methanol showed the highest mean concentration(18.2ppm). A few elements including methylethyl ketone and toluene partially exceeded the Korean Permissible Exposure Limit. A lack of environmental facilities such as exhaust ventilation, automatic cleaning system, and personal safety devices at present work plaus brings about various occupational diseases.

  • 본 연구는 임상시험코디네이터 간호사의 근무환경, 직무만족, 조직몰입이 이직의도에 미치는 영향을 확인하고자 한 서술적 조사연구이다. 연구 결과 조직몰입이 임상시험코디네이터 간호사의 이직의도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 요인임이 파악되었다. 반면 근무환경, 직무만족이 임상시험코디네이터 간호사의 이직의도에 미치는 영향은 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 다음과 같은 주요 논의점을 도출하였다. 조직몰입을 높이기 위해서는 병원 운영 및 행정에 대한 참여 기회 증가, 소속감 향상을 위한 소속기관 확립과 같은 제도적인 개선이 필요하다. 또한 각 병원마다 자체적으로 근무환경 향상을 위한 복지 및 임금체계 기준 마련이 필요하다. 실제 연구 수행자이면서 동시에 연구 지원자인 임상시험코디네이터 간호사의 조직몰입이 간과된다면, 임상시험의 성과와 질은 저하될 수밖에 없을 것이다. 따라서 고용형태를 계약직에서 보다 안정적인 고용형태로 전환하여 업무 지속성과 조직에 대한 헌신도를 높여 임상시험 전 과정에 있어 중추적인 역할을 수행할 수 있도록 개선해 나가야 할 것이다.
