버어리종 잎담배 대말림시 수평대걸기에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Horizontal Hanging Method in Burley Tobacco Stalk-curing)

  • This study was carried out to develop a new stalk curing of the horizontal hanging method that would reduce the harvesting and curing labor, and improve its quality of cured leaf than the conventional stalk curing method in burley tobacco. The horizontal hanging stalk-curing method designed from 1988 was compared with the conventional method. The horizontal method shortened the curing Period for 7 days and reduced to 0.3%, while it occurred 9.4% in the vertical method. In the horizontal method, the quality of cured leaf improved 9%, but the contents of chemical components and physical properties were similar to those of vertical method. The labor of stalk-cut and loading in curing facility reduced 28% by the horizontal method. In harvesting and curing process, the horizontal method resulted 12% of labor saving as compared with the vertical method.   • This study was to present the method for estimating the horizontal coefficient of consolidation by using velocity method which was based on the Barren's equation. Horizontal drainage consolidation tests, including a radial drainage consolidation test, a cylindrical consolidation test, and a large soil box test, were performed to examine its validity. Using the velocity method, horizontal coefficient of consolidation was calculated and compared with lost method, √t method, Magnan & Deroy's method, Bergado's method.

The horizontal line detection method using Haar-like features and linear regression in infrared images

  • In this paper, we propose the horizontal line detection using the Haar-like features and linear regression in infrared images. In the marine environment horizon image is very useful information on a variety of systems. In the proposed method Haar-like features it was noted that the standard deviation be calculated in real time on a static area. Based on the pixel position, calculating the standard deviation of the around area in real time and, if the reaction is to filter out the largest pixel can get the energy map of the area containing the straight horizontal line. In order to select a horizontal line of pixels from the energy map, we applied the linear regression, calculating a linear fit to the transverse horizontal line across the image to select the candidate optimal horizontal. The proposed method was carried out in a horizontal line detecting real infrared image experiment for day and night, it was confirmed the excellent detection results than the legacy methods.

  • 본 논문에서는 내부에 수평 금속봉을 갖는 구형 도파관에 대하여 모드매칭법과 일반산란계수법을 사용하는 해석법을 제안하였고, 수평 금속봉의 반경 및 높이 변화에 따른 구형 도파관의 산란 특성을 계산하였다. 제안된 방법에 의해 계산된 결과는 실험 결과 및 HFSS의 결과와 비교하여 매우 잘 일치함을 알 수 있었다. 본 논문에서 제시한 해석법은 수평 금속봉을 사용하는 도파관 관련 부품의 설계에 쉽게 이용될 수 있다.

An innovative geometry control method for short-line match precast segmental bridges

  • The occurrence of unexpected horizontal offset in the instrument or target will result in accumulated horizontal deviation in segment alignment with traditional short-line match method. A geometry control method, the four-point method, is developed for precast segmental bridges to avoid the influences of unexpected horizontal offset. The concept of the four-point method is elucidated. Furthermore, the detailed instruments and instructions are introduced. Finally, the four-point method is validated through a practical engineering application. According to the survey data, after short-line match precast construction, the vertical deviations on both sides vary between -5 mm and 5 mm in almost all segments, and the horizontal deviations vary between -4 mm and 4 mm in all segments. Without on-site adjustment, the maximum vertical and horizontal closure gaps are 12.3 and 26.1 mm, respectively. The four-point method is suggested to alleviate the issues associated with relatively poor soil conditions in casting yard.

  • In the present study, the analytical approaches of vacuum consolidation with horizontal drains were proposed, For dissipating rapidly pore-water in hydraulic fills, vacuum consolidation method applied vacuum pressure in horizontal drains is developed. In the analytical approaches, the governing equation is based on two-dimensional finite strain consolidation theory and the boundary conditions of horizontal drains are considered in applying negative pore-water pressure occurred by vacuum pressure, Also, parametric studies to vacuum pressure and installation pattern of horizontal drains are carried out.

  • Velocity method was supposed by Parkin et al.(1985) in order to supplement previous log t and (equation omitted) method. This study was to present the method for estimating the horizontal coefficient of consolidation by using velocity method which was based on the Barren's equation. Velocity method throughly eliminated not only settlement curve which had shape with difficulty in evaluating coefficient of consolidation but also the effect of unknown intial compression, the secondary consolidation and occurrence of unknown point by using velocity instead of settlement. The purpose of this study is to investigate its application in field. Velocity method was used in obtaining horizontal coefficient of consolidation in Kyung-gi area. Horizontal coefficient of consolidation using velocity method was calculated and compared with log t method, √t method Magnan & Deroy's method, Bergado's method.

  • The horizontal drain method by installing drains horizontally in the ground is often used to expedite the dispersion of pore water and to increase the strength of dredged soft clay under the action of gravity or vacuum. In this study a numerical analysis method is developed to predict the consolidation process of soft ground with horizontal drains. One-dimensional self-weight consolidation theory is extended tn three-dimensions] theory with appropriate boundary conditions of horizontal drains. In the condition of pore water drainage by gravity, the behavior of the dredged clay with horizontal drains is compared with that of the clay without drains. The influence of design factors of drains on consolidation process is also analyzed.

  • As the reinforced earth wall is constructed with step by step backfill compaction method, the accumulative horizontal deformation is inevitable. It has been reported that about 80% of horizontal deformation is occurred during the construction stage of reinforced earth retaining wall. To reduce the horizontal deformation, an isolated-reinforced earth wall method(KOESWall system) was newly developed. In this system, the reinforced earth is constructed first with reinforcements and backfills only, and then facing blocks are installed after the horizontal displacement of reinforced earth is fully occurred. To evaluate the effect of a construction method and the performance of KOESWall system, two cases of full scale field performance was monitored during and after the construction stages.
