  • Hardware realization of a digital 2-D homomorphic filter for real time contrast enhancement of video signal is presented. In homomorphic filter, logarithmic and exponential conversion used the memory lookup table method and because the hardware is implemented by multiplierless TTL devices, it can be designed to specific IC. The contrast gain can be controlled externally and the transfer function of homomorphic filter can be easily varied by the change of lookup table memory data.

  • In this paper, a new morphology-based homomorphic filtering technique is presented to enhance features in medical images. The homomorphic filtering is performed based on the morphological sub-bands, in which an image is morphologically decomposed. An evolutionary design is carried to find an optimal gain and structuring element of each sub-band. As a search algorithm, Differential Evolution scheme is utilized. Simulations show that the proposed filter improves the contrast of the interest feature in medical images.

  • In this paper, we propose a homomorphic wavelet-based MMSE filter with edge detection to restore images degraded by speckle noise. In the proposed method, a noisy image is first transformed into logarithmic domain. Each pixel in the transformed image is then classified into flat and edge regions by applying DIP operator to the image restored by homomorphic directional MMSE filter. Each pixel in flat region is restored by homomorphic wavelet-based MMSE filter. Each pixel in edge region is restored by the weighted sum of the output of homomorphic wavelet-based MMSE filtering and that of homomorphic directional MMSE filtering. The restored image in spatial domain is finally obtained by applying the exponential function to the restored image in logarithmic domain. Experimental results show that the restored images by the proposed method have ISNR improvement of 3.3-4.0 ㏈ and ${\beta}$, a measurement parameter on edge preservation, improvement of 0.0103-0.0126 and superior subjective image quality over those by conventional methods.

  • In this paper, a MMSE filter in homomorphic wavelet transform domain is proposed for restoring an ultrasonic images corrupted by speckle noise. In order to remove effectively the speckle noise which is a kind of multiplicative noise, speckle noise is transformed into a form of additive noise and then the additive noise is denoised through the MMSE filter in homomorphic wavelet transform domain. The proposed method shows much higher quality in terms of ISNR and subject quality.

  • In this paper, a new MBHF(Morphology-Based Homomorphic filter) is presented to enhance contrast in mammographic images. The MBH filtering is performed based on the morphological sub-bands, in which an image is morphologically decomposed. The filter is designed to have optimal gain and structuring element in each sub-band through differential evolution. Experimental results show that the proposed method improves the contrast in mammographic images such that an evaluation criterion, WPSNR(Weighted Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) which takes into account human visual system is increased compared with a wavelet-based Homomorphic filter.

  • In digital image processing, the homomorphic filtering approach is derived from an illumination-reflectance model of the image. It can also be used with an illumination-transillumnation model of X-ray film. Several X-ray images were applied to enhancement with histogram equalization and homomorphic filter based on an illumination-transillumination model. The homomorphic filter has proven theoretical claim of image density range compression and balanced contrast enhancement, and also was found a valuable tool to process analog X-ray images to digital images.

  • Since realization of E-voting system expands participation of voters and efficient count of voting, political and social and technical revolution is possible. However, without secure e-voting system, practical usages are infeasible. In the paper, we propose an e-voting system which is able to open votes in server without decryption during midst process using EC-ELGAMAL homomorphic cryptography. Users ensure anonymity with pseudo id from server and check their voting with Bloom Filter technology. Furthermore, we combine attributes and voters' information, so we can collect information of voter under the condition of anonymity.

  • To find the best way to distinguish sand dunes from urban building and rural patches, textural analysis has been performed in Kimnyeong sand dune, Jeju. An aerial photo was re-sampled into one-meter. Homomorphic filters were applied to the original sub-scene and then high-pass filtered one. The entropy filtered one proves to be the best extraction method after high pass filtered-homomorphic filters in urban areas. The spectral values of sand dune area were similar to open land in rural area. In contrast, the texture values of sand dune area are more homogeneous than those of open land in rural area.

  • The notions of cubic intuitionistic fuzzy set to filters and implicative filters of BE-algebras are introduced. Relations between cubic intuitionistic fuzzy filters with cubic intuitionistic fuzzy implicative filters of BE-algebras are investigated. The homomorphic image and inverse image of cubic intuitionistic fuzzy filters are studied and some related properties are investigated. Also, the product of cubic intuitionistic fuzzy subalgebras (implicative filters) of BE-algebras are investigated.

  • Aiming at the problems of low image enhancement accuracy, long enhancement time and poor image quality in the traditional robot sequence motion image enhancement methods, an adaptive enhancement method for robot sequence motion image is proposed. The feature representation of the image was obtained by Karhunen-Loeve (K-L) transformation, and the nonlinear relationship between the robot joint angle and the image feature was established. The trajectory planning was carried out in the robot joint space to generate the robot sequence motion image, and an adaptive homomorphic filter was constructed to process the noise of the robot sequence motion image. According to the noise processing results, the brightness of robot sequence motion image was enhanced by using the multi-scale Retinex algorithm. The simulation results showed that the proposed method had higher accuracy and consumed shorter time for enhancement of robot sequence motion images. The simulation results showed that the image enhancement accuracy of the proposed method could reach 100%. The proposed method has important research significance and economic value in intelligent monitoring, automatic driving, and military fields.
