  • Inherent strain method for analyzing deformation of line-heating is substituting experiments of high cost, because of its high accuracy and quickness. Nowadays, the progressing forms of line-heating are not straight moving motions used to traditional studies, but weaving motions which can diversely input heat source. In shipyard, reasons of weaving motions are induction of a special characteristic by water cooling, maximum temperature limitation for keeping plates from melting, and rhythm for workman's maintaining velocity. On this study, a method which can obtain optimal weaving heating condition was presented, some examples were introduced, and the results corresponded to works of shipyard. Lastly, what the specifications of plates on efficiency are is presented, through the quality standard of shipyard and FEM heat transfer simulation. The ultimate purpose of line heating is the automation, so in case of plates which need weaving heating, the optimal heating condition suggested by this study can be used well in designing coil specifications of induction heaters which are heat input sources of new generation.

  • High-frequency induction is an efficient way to heat mold surface by electromagnetic induction in a non-contact procedure. Though the induction heating has an advantage in terms of its rapid-heating capacity on the mold surface, it still has a restriction on mold temperature control due to geometric restriction of an induction coil according to the mold shape. It has been recently applied to the injection molding of thin-walled parts or micro/nano structures. For localized induction heating, an injection mold composed of ferromagnetic material and paramagnetic material is used. The electromagnetic induction concentrates on the ferromagnetic material, from which we can selectively heat for the local mold elements. The present study proposed a localized induction heating method by means of selective use of mold material. The feasibility of the proposed heating method is investigated through the comparison of experimental observations according to the mold material.

  • Hot embossing, one of Nanoimprint Lithography(NIL) techniques, has been getting attention as an alternative candidate of next generation patterning technologies by the advantages of simplicity and low cost compared to conventional photolithographies. A typical hot embossing usually, however, takes more than ten minutes for one cycle of the process because of a long thermal cycling. Over the last few years a number of studies have been made to reduce the cycle time for hot embossing or similar patterning processes. The target of this research is to develop an induction heating apparatus for heating a metallic micro patterning mold at very high speed with the large-area uniformity of temperature distribution. It was found that a 0.5 mm-thick nickel mold can be heated from $25^{\circ}C\;to\;150^{\circ}C$ within 1.5 seconds with the temperature variation of ${\pm}5^{\circ}C$ in 4-inch diameter area, using the induction heating apparatus.

  • We produced cylindrical porous TiNi bodies by Self-propagating High-temperature Synthesis (SHS) process, varying the heating schedule prior to ignition of a loose preform compact made from (Ti+Ni) powder mixture. To investigate the effect of the heating schedule on the behaviour of combustion wave propagation and the structure of porous TiNi shape-memory alloy (SMA) body, change of temperature in the compact during SHS process was measured as a function of time and used for determining combustion temperature and combustion wave velocity. Microstructure of produced porous TiNi SMA body was observed and the results were discussed with the combustion characteristics. From the results it was concluded that the final average pore size could be controlled either by the combustion wave velocity or by the average temperature of the preform compact prior to ignition.

  • Recently, as architectural concrete structures become high-rise and megastructured, concrete become high-strengthened and, by ensuring products of more stability, air compression and rationalization of construction are required. In general, product management test of precast concrete member, specimen for management cured in the same condition with precast concrete member is substitutively used for strength test. However, large cross-sectional precast concrete members such as columns show large temperature increase in manufacturing process not only by external heating but also by concrete itself's hydration heating. Therefore, it is expected that specimen for management to predict strength and compression strength of precast concrete member shows different temperature history and strength characteristics. Concerning this, in order to suggest temperature history and strength characteristics of high strength mass concrete suitable for precast concrete application, this study comprises the inclusive investigations on the relations between management specimen with similar temperature history and core strength, and the strength characteristics per member cross-section dimensional value and per water-bonding material ratio value.

  • This study is aim to assess mechanical properties which is highly related to structural safe and durability of 100MPa high strength concrete mixed with amorphous metallic fiber. All specimens were heated with low velocity heating rate(1℃/min.), residual compressive strength and residual flexural strength was evaluated. The specimens were cooled down to room temperature after heating. As a result, in the case of 100MPa high-strength concrete, the residual compressive strength enhancing effect of amorphous metallic fiber has showed with the mix proportion of fiber. In addition, residual flexural strength showed more regular pattern before 300℃ then residual compressive strength, but simillar decreasing behavior was shown after 300℃ like residual compressive strength. Further study about fiber pull-out behavior and fiber mechanical, chemical property change due to temperature is needed.

  • Study on high temperature properties of concrete and internal force estimation of structural member subjected to high temperature mainly applied high temperature strength model based on experimental results with concrete under 40MPa. However, it is reported that degradation of internal force at high temperature and spalling of ultra high strength concrete are higher than that of normal strength concrete. Therefore, this study attempts to propose compressive strength degradation model which is suitable to ultra high strength concrete comparing to existing model by evaluating high temperature properties of ultra high strength concrete.

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the mechanism and effect of moxibustion with salt objectively, to be used as the quantitative data through the measurement of temperature, and to grasp the thermodynamic characteristics of moxibustion with salt. Methods: We have selected of the moxibustion with salt of indirect moxibustion. We make a comparative study of the thermodynamic characteristics of moxibustion with salt as a kind of the 4 salt. We examined combustion times, temperatures, temperature gradients in each period during a combustion of moxa. Results: 1. We make out that it is not significantly change the time of thermal conduction of moxibustion with salt as a kind of 4 salt. 2. The heating period of Refined Salt was long and that of Sun-dried Salt was a short time respectively. The heating period of maximum tamperature is high Sun-dried Salt, Mechanical Salt and Refined Salt orderly. Maximun heating speed in the heating period was $0.151{\sim}0.184^{\circ}C/sec$ and at the same tendency of the maximum temperature in the heating period. 3. The retaining period was shorter than the heating period respectively, that is 15~24% of the combustion time of in the heating period. We make out that it is not significantly different the time of the retaining period as a kind of 4 salt. The mean temperature of retaining period was $43.2{\sim}48.1^{\circ}C$, that was extraordinarily high temperature. 4. We make out that it is not significantly different the time of the cooling period as a kind of 4 salt. The cooling period was measured 223~233sec. Beacuse the same density and size of moxa combustion was made an experiment. 5. The effective combustion time of Refined Salt is longer(259sec) than that of Sun-dried Salt(173sec). It is significantly different the time of the combustion time as a kind of 4 salt. 6. It is significantly different the Sample deviation of the combustion time as a kind of 4 salt because of the water content of the 4 salt individually. Conclusions: As the base on this study, we obtained the conclusion as the follows. The salt of moxibustion with salt was fitted for Sun-dried Salt due to making to Mechanical Salt recently. The Refined Salt is composition rate to another and small size comparatively. So It was fitted for the salt of moxibustion with salt. It is necessary to study continuously about the more suitable moxibustion with salt and quantitative analysis about the moxibustion with salt.

  • Induction heating is a process that is accompanied with magnetic and thermal situation. When the high-frequency current flows in the coil, induced eddy current generates heat to conductor. To simulate an induction and induction heating process, the finite element analysis program was developed. A coupling method between the magnetic and thermal routines was developed. In the process of magnetic analysis and thermal analysis, magnetic material properties and thermal material properties depending on temperature are taken into consideration. In this paper, to predict the angular deformation, temperature difference and the shape of heat affected zone were discussed. Also appropriate coil shape and other process variables for maximum angular deformation were proposed.
