  • This paper covers the technology developmental stage work for the automatic ammunition loading system mainly focusing on the controller design of the electro-hydranlic type direct drive multi-axis manipulator. Mathematical model of the plant derived and PIDM servo-controller structured. Comparative study between the analytical and experimental work has been carried out to help understand the response property of the direct dine multi-axis robot. In the direct drive robot, non-negligible amount of disturbance and load Induced dynamics variation are transmitted to the drive axis and nonlinearity is highly observed. Thereupon a robust controller Implementing time-delay control law is proposed, and computer simulation confirms the possibility for the time-delay control application against the unpredictable disturbance and load-Induced dynamics variation.

  • This paper describes the development of a high-precision measuring device with DSP (digital signal processor) for the accurate measurement of the 6-axis force/moment sensor mounted to a humanoid robot's ankle. In order to walk on uneven terrain safely, the foot should perceive the applied forces Fx, Fy, and Fz and moments Mx, My, and Mz to itself, and control the foot using the measured them. The applied forces and moments should be measured from two 6-axis force/moment sensors mounted to the feet, and the sensor is composed of Fx sensor, Fy sensor, Fz sensor, Mx sensor, My sensor and Mz sensor in a body (single block). In order to acquire output values from twelve sensors (two 6-axis force/moment sensor) accurately, the measuring device should get the function of high speed, and should be small in size. The commercialized measuring devices have the function of high speed, unfortunately, they are large in size and heavy in weight. In this paper, the high-precision measuring device for acquiring the output values from two 6-axis force/moment sensors was developed. It is composed of a DSP (150 MHz), a RAM (random access memory), amplifiers, capacities, resisters and so on. And the characteristic test was carried out.

  • In industrial site, as the technology of FA developes, many robots can take the place of human labor. Generally, robots require high precision reducers which have cycloid or involute tooth profile. These reducers provide high reduction ratios with low backlash and high accuracy but need a high stiffness of tooth. In this study, to improve the high precision, the cycloid reducers which have straight line teeth profile are used. Also the FEM analysis, which consist of straight line teeth profile, was performed to simulate the stress of teeth profile.

  • A universal controller is designed using a DSP (digital signal processor). The design objectives of the system are to implement control algorithms that require a lot of calculations and to develop a convenient user-interface environment. To demonstrate the efficiency of the system, the time delay control algorithm is implemented for the 2 D.O.F.SCARA type robot and the experimental results are presented.

  • Image transformation ahs been widely used in compuater graphics, computer vision, robot vision, and image processing. Image rotation is one of important part of image transformation. In image rotation, a two-pass algorithm has many advantages over a one-pass algorithm in high speed computation. This paper presents a new two-pass algorithm that overcomes the limitations of previously reported effect of interpolation. A brief comparison of existent techniques and the twp-pass algorithm newly suggeste is presented. This paper also present the hardware structure for the two-pass algorithm suggested.

  • Reduced life-cycle and scale of electronic products make the conventional automated manufacturing system difficult to keep on competitiveness in these days. Reduced life-cycle requires an agile adaptation of manufacturing to new products and reduced scale requires enhanced precision as well as high speed. In this research, We propose a new concept called as "One-Cell Minifactory" in which various processes are combined to produce final modules or products and human interaction can be combined easily. We hope the proposed concept can guide new developments of automated manufacturing in electronics, optics and bio-engineering.

  • When biped robots make turns, the ability to walk stably and precisely along any circular path is crucial. In this context, inverse kinematics solutions are found for accurate gait realization, and new zero moment point(ZMP) equations are derived with respect to the cyclindrical coordinate system to facilitate generation of stable walking patterns. Then, appropriate steady and transitional walking patterns are both proposed in form of time functons. Subsequently, walking patterns for a path but of different speeds are generated using the functions and associated formulas, and preliminarily checked for stability based on the ZMP equations. Upon comparison of those cases, one can see how and when robots may fall down during circular walking. Finally, those patterns are put to test on the sample robot by ADAMS(R) along with the inverse kinematics solutions and a new balance control scheme compensating for insufficient stability particulary during the initial transition period. Test results show that the robot can walk along the circular path as predicted at a resonably high speed despite the distributed mass and ground contact effects, validating effectiveness of the suggested approach.
