  • To perform the marking on metal with high speed and non-contact using the laser beam of high energy, laser marking system is designed and fabricated applying the galvanometer scanner capable of high speed-precise beam positioning controlled by microprocessor. Laser is a Q-switched Nd:YAG producing multi-mode, wavelength, 1060nm. Optical system is composed of beam expander, scanning mirror and flat field lens. Consequently, the laser marking is satisfactorily achieved regardless of kinds of metal.

  • To evaluate the usefulness of Volume Axial Mode by comparing analyzing the exposure dose of the patients and the quality of each images from CT images obtained from high pitch mode using the local phantom or volume axial mode to determine the usefulness of he volume axial mode in diagnosing the head and cervical disease in adults. High Pitch Mode, Helical Mode, and Volume axial Mode as adult phantom were tested according to 70 kVp, 80 kVp, and 100 kVp tube voltages during an adult frontal CT scans. The equipment used was GE's Revolution (GE Healthcare, Wisconsin USA) model and iMED X-ray Phantom. The exposure dose of phantom was compared using the images obtained from each protocol, and the image quality was compared by calculating SNR and CNR by setting ROI on each image. When examined using Volume Axial Mode, the exposure dose of phantom was measured 17.12% lower than Helical Mode, 5.35% lower than High Pitch Mode, and both SNR and CNR were improved. Volume Axial Mode is a useful test that reduces investigation time without table movement using high speed rotary scanner, and in which exposure dose is reduced and image quality is improved by acquiring images in a short time of 0.28 seconds of phantom than using High Pitch Mode and Helical Mode. In addition, the fast testing time of Volume Axial Mode can be seen as the biggest advantage CT scans of emergency patients or patients with physical discomfort.

  • The recent H.264/AVC video coding standard provides a higher coding efficiency than previous standards. H.264/AVC achieves a bit rate saving of more than 50 % with many new technologies, but it is computationally complex. Most of fast mode decision algorithms have focused on Baseline profile of H.264/AVC. In this paper, a fast block mode decision scheme for P- slices in High profile is proposed to reduce the computational complexity for H.264/AVC because the High profile is useful for broadcasting and storage applications. To reduce the block mode decision complexity in P- pictures of High profile, we use the SAD value after $16{\times}16$ block motion estimation. This SAD value is used for the classification feature to divide all block modes into some proper candidate block modes. The proposed algorithm shows average speed-up factors of 47.42 ${\sim}$ 67.04% for IPPP sequences.

  • This paper describes the design of a high-speed comparator for high-speed automatic test equipment (ATE). The normal comparator block, which compares the detected signal from the device under test (DUT) to the reference signal from an internal digital-to-analog converter (DAC), is composed of a rail-to-rail first pre-amplifier, a hysteresis amplifier, and a third pre-amplifier and latch for high-speed operation. The proposed continuous comparator handles high-frequency signals up to 800MHz and a wide range of input signals (0~5V). Also, to compare the differences of both common signals and differential signals between two DUTs, the proposed differential mode comparator exploits one differential difference amplifier (DDA) as a pre-amplifier in the comparator, while a conventional differential comparator uses three op-amps as a pre-amplifier. The chip was implemented with $0.18{\mu}m$ Bipolar CMOS DEMOS (BCDMOS) technology, can compare signal differences of 5mV, and operates in a frequency range up to 800MHz. The chip area is $0.514mm^2$.

  • Recurrent enhancements of relativistic electron events at geosynchronous orbit (GREEs) were observed in 2006. These GREE enhancements were associated with high-speed solar wind streams coming from the same coronal hole. For the first six months of 2006, the occurrence of GREEs has 27 day periodicity and the GREEs were enhanced with various flux levels. Several factors have been studied to be related to GREEs: (1) High speed stream, (2) Pc5 ULF wave activity, (3) Southward IMF Bz, (4) substorm occurrence, (5) Whistler mode chorus wave, and (6) Dynamic pressure. In this paper, we have examined the effectiveness about those parameters in selected periods.

  • When the crossing frequency of a train meets the natural frequency of a railway bridge, the bridge is bound to become resonant. There are few available time response samples involving a train that passes a bridge at high speed. Very effective modal-parameter extraction techniques for such special high-speed railway bridge conditions are introduced in this paper. Utilizing the cross-correlations of the free-vibration responses after the train passes, mode shapes and the temporal modal parameters (e.g., natural frequency and damping ratio) are extracted using the TDD and SI techniques, respectively. This approach has been applied to a two-span steel composite bridge in the Kyung-Bu high-speed railway system. The estimation results were compared with those obtained using the existing methods. The results fully coincide with those that were extracted using the existing aforementioned technique.

  • The Korea high speed train was launched from Seoul to Busan of 1st construction phase at 1st April, 2004. This huge project will be lead to a great change in korean society such as existing mode choice behavior change and the concentrating on KTX station zone lifestyle pattern's change. With the result to opening high speed train railway was diminished train journey time between Seoul to Busan from 4 hours 10 minute to 2 hours 40 minutes, and has been change population movement, favorite location of corporation headquarters, existing metropolitan transportation pattern and so on. In the middle of this study, I choose to analyse Seoul-Cheonan/Asan stations, Seoul-Deajeon stations, Seoul-Deagu stations, Seoul-Pusan stations. This study have a information to analyse among as like movement of population, status of employee structure, usage of land, movement inland transportation mode. I sure that this study will lead to helpful prediction both 2nd phase of Kyoung-bu high-speed railway and Ho-nam high-speed railway in advance.

  • A high speed fuzzy processor using bipolar technology is proposed in this paper. The hardware system uses a high-speed current-mode membership function circuit and normalization technique. The new membership function circuit generates an ideal membership function of the fuzzy set and its circuit is also simple and available for VLSI implementation. Several techniques have been implemented to speed up response of the processor. The fuzzy processor has been designed and implemented in bipolar circuit technology. The experiments and simulations show that the response speed is below 100ms. It can also be expected that the fuzzy processor can be integrated on one chip and its response time is only about the order of nanoseconds.

  • SiC power device possesses attractive features, such as high breakdown voltage, high-speed switching capability, and high temperature operation. In general, device design has a significant effect on the switching characteristics, In this paper, we demonstrated that the switching performance of DMOSFETs are dependent on the with Channel length ($L_{channel}$) and Current Spreading Layer thickness ($T_{CSL}$) by using 2-D Mixed-mode simulations. The 4H-SiC DMOSFETs with a JFET region designed to block 800 V were optimized for minimum loss by adjusting the parameters of the JFET region, CSL, and epilayer. It is found that improvement of switching speed in 4H-SiC DMOSFETs is essential to reduce the gate-source capacitance and channel resistance. Therefore, accurate modeling of the operating conditions are essential for the optimizatin of superior switching performance.

  • This paper presents a fuzzy predictive sliding mode control for high performance induction motor position drives. A new simplified inner-loop sliding-mode current control scheme based on a nonlinear mathematical model of an induction motor is introduced. Novel predictive fuzzy logic PI and PID controllers are used in speed and position loops, respectively. Sliding-mode current controllers and fuzzy predictive logic controllers are designed based on indirect vector control. The overall system performance is examined under different dynamic operating conditions. The performance of the drive system is robust and stable, and insensitive to parameters and operating condition variations even though non-exact system parameters are used in the implementation of the proposed controllers.
