This paper is the experimental and analytic of reinforced concrete hemisphere dome under vertical load. It is described that when the reinforced concrete hemispherical dome supported on cylindrical wall is loaded vertically, how the opening part of dome will behave mechanically The experimental and analytic model is a Hemispherical dome with opening and the meridian angle of opening is 76$^{\circ}$at the center of sphere under concentrated load around the opening, but this is reinforced by a ring is sufficient stiffness. The diagrams of crack development are represented to understand the behavior of the reinforced concrete hemispherical dome. The method of crack analysis will be applied the rigid element spring model. The rigid element spring model is a new discrete element analysis, each divided element is assumed by rigid elements without deformation which is interconnected with elasto-plastic spring system.

Machine tool errors have to be characterized and predicted to improve machine tool accuracy. A real-time error compensation system has been developed based on volumetric error synthesis model which is composed of machine tool errors. This paper deals with new algorithm about verification of machine tool errors. This new algorithm uses a simplified volumetric error synthesis model. This simplified model is constructed with only main components among the error components of the machine. The main error components are analyzed by ball bar test of hemispherical helix. The novel measurement method using ball bar system has many advantages which are more efficient, easier to use than conventional measurement system.
The effects of finite cylinder free end shape on the mean and fluctuating wind pressures were investigated experimentally and numerically by using three different roof shapes: flat, conical and hemispherical. The pressure distributions on the roofs and the side walls of the finite cylinders partially immersed in a simulated atmospheric boundary layer have been obtained for three different roof shapes. Realizable $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model was used for numerical simulations. Change in roof shapes has caused significant differences on the pressure distributions. When compared the pressure distributions on the different roofs, it is seen from the results that hemispherical roof has the most critical pressure field among the others. It is found a good agreement between numerical and experimental results.

Machining accuracy is affected by quasi-static errors of machining center. Since machine errors have a direct influence upon both the surface finish and geometric shape of the finished workpiece, it is very important to measure the machine errors and to compensate these errors. The laser measurement method for identifying geometric errors of machine tool has the disadvantages such as high cost, long calibration time and usage of volumetric error synthesis model. Accordingly, this paper deals with analysis of the geometric errors of a machine tool using ball bar test without using complicated error synthesis model. Statistical analysis method was adopted in this paper for deriving geometric errors using hemispherical helix ball bar test. As a result of experiment, geometric errors of the vertical machining center are compensated by 88%.

Precession coefficient is defined by the ratio of the angular rate or rotational angle of the standing wave formed in an elastic resonator with respect to that of the platform. In this paper the precession of a hemispherical resonator due to Coriolis' effect is studied through Rayleigh-Ritz's method and Lagrangian Mechanics when the resonator undergoes Rayleigh's mode deformation. The calculation result was compared with studies by other researchers.
In this paper, signal detection and control circuits for hemispherical resonator gyroscope(HRG) are designed, simulated and tested. HRG is one of the coriolis vibratory gyroscope(CVG) which has very stable quartz hemispherical resonator and shows very precise performance. HRG signals are usually modulated at the several kHz of resonant frequency. So the general control scheme cannot be applied directly because general control schemes mainly focused at low frequency range. Using demodulated and modulated PI control scheme with the signal detection which is presented in this paper, performance of manufactured HRG has tested.

Saturated boiling heat transfer experiment in a hemispherical narrow space is conducted using Freon-113 to investigate an additional heat removal capability through a hypothetical gap between lower head and degraded core. The narrow space of 1mm consists of a 124mm diameter heated stainless steel hemisphere and a glass outer vessel. Within the hemispherical narrow space large coalesced bubbles are produced and these bubbles rise in random direction, causing liquid flow in from the opposite side to fill the region. Such flow in random direction makes the flow field in the narrow space very chaotic and thus enhance heat transfer. The heat transfer coefficient is higher at lower angle and at higher heat flux. The present study shows that the liquid from upper region can effectively penetrate into the gap and augment the heat removal capability through tile gap.

In this paper, we discuss optimum process conditions of Hemispherical Grained Silicon formation for high density DRAM'S capacitor. In optimum process renditions, the phosphorous concentration, storage polysilicon deposition temperature and thickness of hemispherical grain silicon are in the range of 3.0-4.0E19atoms/㎤, 53$0^{\circ}C$ and 40(equation omitted), respectively. in the 64M bit DRAM capacitor using optimum process conditions, limit thickness of nitride is about 65(equation omitted). The results obtained in this study are applicable to process control and HSG-Si formation for high reliability and high density DRAM's capacitor.

This paper presents a comparison of experimental value by hemispherical grounding simulation system and calculated value by CDEGS program for ground potential rise of structure. When a test current flowed through structure grounding electrodes, ground potential rise was measured and analyzed for types of structure using the hemispherical grounding simulation system in real time, and was computed by means of CDEGS program. The model structures were designed and fabricated with two types on a scale of one-one hundred sixty. When the experimental data were compared with the theoretical values, the similar profile was shown. Therefore, the confidence of measurement was obtained. The distributions of ground surface potential are dependent on the resistivity and absorption percentage in concrete attached to structure.
In this study, we investigated how the performance of a Venturi changes when a hemispherical bump is applied to the divergent part of the Venturi tube and what causes the performance difference. The Venturi-tunnel experiment was conducted in the Reynolds number range of 0.2 × 105 - 1.2 × 105 and cavitation number range of 0.9 - 10. The bump was found to reduce the pressure loss coefficient and increase the discharge coefficient by shortening the cavitation length. The decrease in the cavitation length by the bump was explained by the strengthening of the re-entrant jet. The wake generated from the hemispherical bump seems to increase the adverse pressure gradient on the Venturi surface, thereby strengthening the re-entrant jet.
