제주시내 초등학교 5학년 어린이의 체격과 식생태에 관한 조사연구 (II) -어린이의 체격과 어머니의 식습관- (A Study on a Relation of Food Ecology to Obesity Index of 5th Grade Children in Cheju City (II) -Obesity Index of Children and Food Habit of their Mothers-)

  • This survey was conducted to investigate the relation of children's obesity index to their mothers' food habit during the October in 1995. The survey covered a total of 492 mothers whose children were in the fifth grade of elementary schools in Cheju City area. The results are summarized as follows: 1.The surveyed children's average WLI(Weight-Length Index) is 107.08. WLI shows that 16.1% of them are overweight, 16.1% obese and 49.8% ideally weighted. The mothers' average BMI(Body Mass Index) is 22.4. 21.8% of them are underweight and 69.4% normal. The children's obesity index is significantly correlated to their fathers', but not significant to their mothers'. 2.As to the food habit I (balance of nutrients intake), 58.4% of the mothers have 'excellent' or 'good' food habit and the mean score is 14.95 out of maximum possible score 24.0. Concerning to the food habit II (intake of sugar, fat and salt etc.), 87.4% of mothers have 'good' or 'fair' food habit and the mean score of is 13.34 out of maximum (possible score) 20.0. The mothers' food habit I and II, as a whole, have no significant effect on the children's obesity index, but in some items the significant relations are founded. The children's chesty index is significantly related to the intake of eggs (P<0.05) and pan-broiled or fried foods (P<0.05). The amount of mothers' food intake is significantly relevant to their obesity index (P<0.001), but not significantly to their children's. The food habit of mothers who have taken midnight snack almost every day are significantly related to their children's chesty index (P<0.05). The findings of the study emphasize the importance of the nutrition education to ensure health and better physical fitness for children and their mothers.

고혈압 환자 대상 저나트륨 식생활에 대한 보건소 영양교육이 혈압, 혈액 성상 및 나트륨섭취에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Sodium Reduction Education Program of a Public Health Center on the Blood Pressure, Blood Biochemical Profile and Sodium Intake of Hypertensive Adults)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of sodium reduction education program of a public health center on the blood pressure, blood biochemical profile and sodium intake of hypertensive adults. The program continued for 16 weeks with an 8-week nutrition education and an 8-week follow-up to forty two subjects, 6 males and 36 females aged 46 to 80 years. Subjects received nutrition education including lectures, activities, cooking classes and nutrition counseling. Physical fitness, management of stress, and nutrition counseling were provided during the follow-up. The program was evaluated three times, before and after the nutrition education, and after the follow-up. Systolic blood pressure (p < 0.0001) and diastolic blood pressure (p < 0.001) were decreased after completion of the program. Body weight (p < 0.005), percent body fat (p < 0.005) and body mass index (p < 0.001) were decreased, too. There were no significant differences in blood glucose, HDL-cholesterol and triglycerides, while elevated levels of total cholesterol (p < 0.001) and LDL-cholesterol (p < 0.001) appeared after the program completion. Decreased intakes of vitamin A (p < 0.05), ${\beta}$-carotene (p < 0.001) and sodium (p < 0.001) were observed. Consumption frequency of noodles, soups, stews, kimchi, fishes/shellfish, seasoned vegetables, and salted seafoods/pickles (p < 0.05~p < 0.001) were decreased, while that of all food groups were not changed during the follow-up. Total score of nutrition knowledge related to sodium intake and hypertension (p < 0.001), and that of dietary behavior associated with high sodium intakes were changed positively (p < 0.001) only during the nutrition education. This sodium reduction education program, including the follow-up study showed positive effects on the blood pressure, sodium intake, nutrition knowledge and dietary behavior of hypertensive adults.

서울 지역에 거주하는 일부 주민들의 디프테리아 항체가에 관한 연구 (A Study on Diphtheria Antibody Titer of Residents in Seoul Area)

  • Diphtheria was the world-spread, respiratory infectious disease in the past. But after developing the diphtheria toxoid, diphtheria vaccine, composed of diphtheria toxoid, is generalized, so prevalence of diphtheria is sharply dropped. But diphtheria is come back in NIS(New Independent States) in 1990s. It is believed that recurrence of diphtheria is mainly due to shortage of protective diphtheria antibody titer in adults. And it is related to 70% prevalence in adults, not in children. Considering this changing environment, this study was designed to research the diphtheria antibody titer of whole population and existence of titer difference by sex. Also it was studied whether ELISA has fitness as determination method of diphtheria antibody titer compared with neutralization method on microcell culture. This study was done to 277 samples of three hospitals in Seoul area, and sera was tested by neutralization method on microcell culture and ELISA method. The results of this study were as follows 1) Of this studied population, 31.05% had an antibody titer below the protective level (<0.01 IU/ml), 40.79% had a titer of a relative degree of protection (0.01-0.09 IU/ml) and 28.16% had a reliable degree of protection ($\geq$0.1 IU/ml). Therefore, 68.95% had a basic protective antibody titer level. 2) 20-40 age group showed the lowest diphtheria antibody titer among the studied population. 3) GMT of diphtheria antibody titer was the highest in the children. But, after child period, GMT was fallen. Standard deviation value was the lowest in older group. 4) Protective level of diphtheria antibody titer of male was slightly higher than female (70.94% vs 66.66%). But this difference was not statistically significant. 5) Diphtheria antibody titer by ELISA method was wholly higher than by neutralization method on microcell culture. Compared the two results by ELISA and neutralization, the regression coefficient was 0.38. And in titer, which was obtained by ELISA method, false-positive results was abundant.

복합운동이 노인여성의 낙상관련지표 및 Myokine에 미치는 효과 (Effect of Combined Exercise on Fall Injury Index and Myokine in Older Adults)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 복합운동이 노인여성의 낙상관련 지표 및 마이오카인에 미치는 효과를 보는데 있다. 근감소증은 근력의 손실로 인해 발생하고, 기능적 상태의 감소, 활동력의 저하에 따른 낙상의 위험성이 높아지고 끝내 사망의 위험성이 높아지게 된다. 유산소운동은 대근을 이용한 리듬과 반복적인 동작으로 특징 지워지고 주로 유산소성 대사를 통한 산소를 에너지 이용으로 심폐체력, 체성분 및 심장과 호흡계 건강에 기여한다. 한편 저항운동은 근육에 스트레스를 가해 노인들의 근력관련 체력과 기능적 수행 개선에 기여한다. 근기능 및 심폐지구력 향상을 꾀하는 복합운동은 노년들의 효과적인 건강증진에 기여하는 것으로 나타내고 있다. 근육에서 분비되는 마이오카인은 운동에 중요한 요인으로 간주되고 있는데 지방세포 감소, 골격, 근육 및 인체 전반에 걸쳐 유익한 효과를 보인다.

운동하는 몸에 대한 생태윤리학적 접근(1): 퇴계의 경을 중심으로 (Eco-ethical Approach to Sporting body: Focusing on Toegye's Gyeong)

  • 이 연구는 퇴계의 경(敬)을 중심으로 운동하는 몸에 대한 생태윤리학적 접근을 시도하였다. 인간과 자연의 갈등원인은 인간의 욕망에서 비롯된 잘못된 자연관을 들 수 있다. 퇴계는 욕망의 문제를 경을 통해 극복할 수 있다고 보았다. 퇴계 경사상의 생태윤리학적 접근 가능성은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 퇴계의 경은 자연 속에서 완성된 것이기에 가능하다. 둘째, 퇴계의 경은 자연에 대한 인간의 책임(배려)을 강조한다. 셋째, 경은 도덕 실천능력과 연관되기 때문이다. 한편, 퇴계는 '몸을 잘 보존하는 것'이 자기보존인 동시에 자연의 순리를 따르는 천리의 의미로 이해하였다. 이러한 관점에서 운동하는 몸은 신체건강과 마음건강의 의미가 존재하며 동시에 인간과 자연을 하나의 관계망으로 이해하여 자연 질서를 따르는 생태적 가치의 측면도 존재한다. 운동하는 몸을 통한 경의 획득은 '경신(敬身)'과 '활경(活敬)'의 실천을 제안한다. 자연과 함께하는 신체운동을 할 때 몸을 공경하는 '경신'의 단계에 머무르는 것뿐만 아니라 생태환경을 보전(活敬)하면서 자연을 통해 요산요수(樂山樂水)의 덕을 함양하는 단계로 나아가는 것이다.

말기 암환자의 체험에 관한 현상학적 연구 (Lived Experience of patients with Terminal Cancer : Parses Human Becoming Methodology)

  • Human health is an integral part of experience in the process of Human Becoming. Through continual interaction with the environment human beings freely choose experience and develop as responsible beings. The process of the health experience of patient with terminal cancer is a unique. he objective of this study is to understand the lived experience of patients with terminal cancer in order to provide basic information for nursing care in the clinical setting and to develop a theoretical background for clinical practice. This study is to de-scribe and define the lived experience of patients with terminal cancer in order to provide a foundation for nursing research and education. Data collection has been done between December 1993 and November 1994. The subjects included five persons -four females and one male : one who was in her sixties, one in his fifties, two in their forties, and one who was in her thirties. The researcher has met with these patients 35 times, but at eight times the patient was in a stuporous condition and not able to participate, so these were not included in the data analysis. Parse's "Human Becoming Methodology", an existential phenomenological research methodology is used for this study. Data has been collected using he dialogical engagement process of "I and You", the participant researcher and the participant subject. Dialogical engagement was discontinued when the data was theoretically saturated. Data was analyzed using the extraction - synthesis and heuristic interpretation. The criteria of Guba and Lincoln(1985). and Sandelo wski(1986) : credibility, auditability, fitness and objectivity were used to test the validity and reliability of the data. The following is a description of the structure of the lived experience of patients with terminal cancer as defined by this study : 1. Structure : 1) Suffering through the reminiscence of past experience 2) The appearance of complex emotions related to life and connectedness 3) The increasing importance of significant people and of the Absolute Being 4) The increasing realization of the importance of health and belief 5) Desire for a return to health and a peaceful life or for acceptance of dying and a comfortable death In summary the structure of the lived experience of these patients can be said to be : suffering comes through reminiscence of past experience, and there are complex emotions related to life and connectedness. Significant people and the Absolute Being become increasingly important along with a realization of the importance of health and faith. And finally there is a desire for either a return to health and a peaceful life or for the acceptance of dying and a comfortable death. 2. Heuristic Interpretation : Using Parse's Human Becoming Methodology, the structure of the lived experience of patients with terminal cancer identified in this research is interpreted as. The lived experience of patients with terminal cancer involves the solving of past conflicts, and the experience of the healing and valuing of sorrow and pain. Through the relation of life and health, and the complex emotions that arise, the lived experience of revealing - concealing is of paradoxical emotions. The increasing importance of significant others and of the Absolute Being shows Connecting and Separating an on- going process of nearness and farness. Revision of thoughts about health and faith is interpreted as transforming and desire for restoration to health and a peaceful life or acceptance of dying and a cowfortable death, as powering. In summary, it is possible to see, in the lived experience of patients with terminal cancer, the relationship of the five concepts of Parse's theory : valuing, revealing -concealing, connecting-separating, transforming, and powering. From Parse's theory, the results of this study show that meaning is related to valuing, rhythmicity to revealing-concealing and connect-ing-separating, and cotranscendence to transforming and powering.

운동과 뇌신경가소성: 고강도 인터벌 운동의 효과성 고찰 (Exercise and Neuroplasticity: Benefits of High Intensity Interval Exercise)

  • 운동은 중추와 말초의 각종 성장인자(BDNF, IGF-1, VEGF)들의 상호작용에 의해 뇌신경가소성을 증진시키고 인지기능을 향상시킨다. 지금까지 저·중강도 지속성 유산소 운동의 효과를 검증하는 선행연구가 주로 이루어졌기 때문에 고강도 운동에 따른 뇌신경성장인자의 발현 및 인지기능 개선 효과에 대한 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 하지만 최근의 과학적 증거들은 고강도 인터벌 운동이 시간 효율성, 안전성, 심폐지구력 개선 및 체중 감소에 효과적임을 암시하고 있으며, 미스포츠의학회(ACSM)에서 권장하는 일반인을 위한 운동지침에서도 무리가 되지 않는 수준에서 고강도 인터벌 운동 수행을 강조하고 있다. 특히 최근에 발표된 선행 연구에서 고강도 인터벌 운동은 말초조직과 뇌에서의 BDNF, IGF-1, VEGF의 발현을 증가시키고 그로 인한 인지기능 발달에 기여한다는 것을 보고하였으며, 관련된 유력한 생리학적 기전으로 고강도 인터벌 운동으로 인한 뇌의 저산소화와 뇌신경대사의 부가적인 에너지원이 될 수 있는 젖산 이용성 증가가 대두되고 있다. 따라서 향후 저산소화 및 젖산 이용성 증가에 따른 뇌신경성장인자 발현 개선에 어떤 분자생물학적 기전이 관여하는지를 탐구할 필요가 있으며, 또한 동일한 운동량을 가진 저·중강도 지속성 유산소 운동과의 비교 연구를 통해 뇌신경성장인자의 발현 및 인지기능 개선에 있어 고강도 인터벌 운동의 우수성을 입증하는 연구가 요구된다.

노인체육의 현황과 실버태권도 활성화 방안 연구 (A Study on the Present Condition of Senior Sports and Activation Plan of Silver Taekwondo)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 노인체육의 국내외 현황을 조사하고 노인체육의 한 종목으로서 실버태권도의 활성화 방안을 고찰하는 데 있다. 국내외 노인체육 현황조사를 위해 국가별 공공기관 및 체육시설(문화체육관광부, 보건복지부, 통계청, e-나라지표, 국민체육진흥공단)의 보도자료, 통계자료를 수집하였고 관련 논문, 학술지, 서적 등과 비교 분석하여 실버태권도 활성화 방안으로 다음과 같은 사항을 도출하였다. 첫째, 한국의 노인체육은 주로 복지관을 통해 행해지며 댄스, 요가, 음악이 선호되는 경향이 있으며 무술의 선호 비율은 낮았다. 실버태권도의 참여를 높이기 위해서는 해외와 같이 체육의 체험 사례를 미디어, 영화 제작, 배포, 전화 홍보 등 다양한 마케팅이 필요하다. 둘째, 수련 대상에 따른 실버태권도 프로그램의 개발이 필요하며 이를 수행할 수 있는 지도자의 양성이 필요하다. 프로그램의 개발은 태권도 기관, 태권도장, 대학, 평생교육원과 연계하여 전공 학생 및 노인 체육지도자의 참여가 필요하다.

국교 5년생의 성장발달에 관한 조사연구 I . 전국 5학년 생의 체격분포 (A Study on Anthropometric Data of 5 th Grade Students I. The Distribution of Physical Conditions)

  • 우리나라 아동의 비만실태를 파악하기 위한 연구의 일환으로 전국의 국민학교 5학년 10.751명의 체격분포를 조사하였다. 건강기록부를 이용하요 1학년때 부터 학년까의 키, 몸무게를 분석하고 설문지를 이용하여 체격과 관련된 일반 현황 및 식품섭취 빈도를 조사하였다 1)조사대상아의 어머니 중 29%가 직업을 갖고 있었으며 출, 퇴근시간이 어린이의 영양관리를 제대로 할 수 없는 경우가 많았다. 조사대상아의 5.8%가 거의 매일 결식하였으며 건강을 위해 약제를 복용하는 경우가 26%였다. 2)키는 4학년까지는 남학생이 우세 하다가 5학년때는 남학생이 137.1cm, 여학생이 137.6cm 였다. 몸무게는 남녀 각각 31.5kg, 31.2kg였으며 키, 몸무게의 10, 25, 50, 70 ,90percentile 분포에 해당하는 값이 제시되었다. 고학년이 될수록 남학생의 키의 성장속도는 둔화된 반면 여학생은 오히려 증가였다. 몸무게는 학년이 높아지면서 남녀 모두 증가폭이 커졌으며 여학생의 증가폭이 더 컸다. 키와 몸무게를 이용하여 5년간 BMI, RI, RW 갑이 계산되었다. 3) 49% 아동이 우유를 매일 섭취 하였으며 과자, 계란, 아이스크림, 초코렛의 섭취빈도가 높은 반면 치즈, 햄, 두유의 섭취빈도는 매우 낮았다.

노인물리치료를 위한 저항트레이닝 처방에 대한 탐색 (An Exploration on Prescription of Resistance Training for Geriatric Physical Therapy)

  • There can be little dissension that the ultimate goal of all physical therapy interventions with the elderly is to restore or maintain the highest level of function possible for the individual. Whenever physical therapists take on this challenge, they assist elders in maintaining their identities as competent adults. Advancing age is associated with profound changes in body composition, including increased fat mass, decreased fat-free mass(particularly muscle), decreased total body water and decreased bone density. Along with these changes in body compositions, and perhaps as a direct result of them, elderly people have lower energy needs, reduced strength and functional capacity and a greatly increased risk for such diseases as noninsulin-dependent diabetes mellitus and osteoporosis. Resistance training is considered a promising intervention for reversing the loss of muscle function and the deterioration of muscle structure that is associated with advanced age. This reversal is thought to result in improvements in functional abilities and health status in the elderly by increasing muscle mass, strength and power and by increasing bone mineral density. In the past couple of decades, many studies have examined the effects of Resistance training on risk factors for age-related diseases or disabilities. We have explored the positive and negative aspects of older adults' participation in resistance training programs. The benefits to older adults are reported to be increased strength, endurance, muscle capacity, and flexibility; more energy; and improved self-image and confidence. The negative aspects include some pain or stiffness and other nonspecific problems. The positive and negative aspects of resistance training are therefore very similar to those in younger populations. Scientific investigations over the past 10 years have demonstrated that resistance training can be safely and successfully implemented in older populations. Even the frail and very sick elderly can benefit and improve their quality of life. Proper design and progression of a resistance training program for older adults is vital to optimal benefits from resistance exercise. The results of data provided by this research on resistance training for health shows that there is enough existing evidence to conclude that resistance training, particularly when incorporated into a comprehensive fitness program, can offer substantial health benefits which can be obtained by persons of all ages. These benefits, including improvements in functional capacity, translate into an improved quality of life.
