A Genetic Approach for Joint Link Scheduling and Power Control in SIC-enable Wireless Networks

  • Successive interference cancellation (SIC) is an effective means of multi-packet reception to combat interference at the physical layer. We investigate the joint optimization issue of channel access and power control for capacity maximization in SIC-enabled wireless networks. We propose a new interference model to characterize the sequential detection nature of SIC. Afterward, we formulize the joint optimization problem, prove it to be a nondeterministic polynomial-time-hard problem, and propose a novel approximation approach based on the genetic algorithm (GA). Finally, we discuss the design and parameter setting of the GA approach and validate its performance through extensive simulations.

  • Power line communication: PLC which easy to install at anywhere near outlet for electric machine. PLC uses transmission line for voltage of which is 60 Hz. One of the important thing is the processes of adding signal to power line and extracting the signal from power line, another is to choose the strong modulation method which sends signals to long distance without loosing in PLC channel. but PLC channel have very high and variable noise and attenuation and then it is very hard to transmit optimally between the transmitter and the receiver. AWGN, impulse noise and attenuation are created. To overcome the noise and attenuation. Multi-carrier Modulation methods like as OFDM and DMT which divide the channel into many sub-channel are powerful communication methods for PLC. In this paper, PLC channels are simulated for getting BER by Matlab simulink

  • Air-operated valve is one of principal valves that are using to control fluid flow in nuclear power plants. A period diagnosis lot safety of power plants is necessary. But there are many difficulties such as economic loss caused by income of high cost devices and a matter hard to deal with users. In this study, we developed the diagnostic system that users of power plants are easy to handle. The diagnostic system is composed of database module, diagnosis test module and evaluation module.

  • Today it is hard to imagine the operation of power network and its facilities without the control systems such as EMS/SCADA/DAS. In KEPCO, data links to the upper layer of control system (SCABA) is required to launched DAS project lately, in terms of the needs of saving cost for the data gathering facilities (RTU) in the substation that previously equipped SCADA RTU. In this Paper we researched the circumstance of the KEPCO SCADA systems for data link and present the scheme of the data link between DAS and SCADA.

  • A Study on the improvement Method of Domestic Franchise System based on the study through the Dispute cases. Future franchise operating is hard to survive if it has it's own competitive power in the fair trade. So first of all, Headquarter of franchise has the competitive power. Second, it has knowhow, because that knowhow is driving force which can lead a member of franchiser. third, it can supply tableware and materials without a hitch. In the conclusion, franchise operator has the competitive power that are difference and fair trade. Also, when franchiser always cooperate franchise operating, that contributed much to the growth of the foodservice. In the future, the study on foodservice of franchise should be go on more deeply.

  • This paper proposes a new prototype auxiliary resonant DC link(ARDCL)snubber circuit and deals with its power loss on the basis of actually measured conduction loss characteristic of switching device module. Voltage-type soft switching three phase inverter using proposed ARDCL snubber circuit is presented along with its performance evaluations. And, the power loss analysis of three phase hard and soft switching inverter are carried out from the point of simulation and experimental results.

This paper describes an experimental study of the drag embedding motion and the resultant holding force of three types of drag embedment type anchor model (HALL, AC-14, SEC POOL-N, scale 1/10).

Collaboration and Confucian Reflexivity in Local Energy Governance: The Case of Seoul's One Less Nuclear Power Plant Initiatives

  • South Korea's energy policy has been historically established through an energy production structure that relies on thermal and nuclear power generation in relation to a centralized 'Hard Energy System'. However, climate change issues are forcing the transition to renewable energy, and it is crucial for local governments to enable this. This study analyses Seoul city's local energy governance, which is known as One Less Nuclear Power Plant Initiative, by applying the collaborative governance framework inspired by Ansell and Gash (2008) and the Reflexivity framework of Confucianism. It is considered that the local energy governance model of Seoul city can be used as a model by other local governments, and it will eventually lead to a decentralized energy system in this era of energy transition.

  • 최근 반도체 칩의 집적도가 올라가고 System-on-Chip(Soc)환경이 보편화되면서 Automatic Test Equipment(ATE)를 이용한 테스트 수행시 테스트 패턴의 크기 문제와 스캔체인에서의 전력 소모문제가 크게 부각되고 있다. 또한, 테스트 패턴 크기문제를 해결하기 위해 테스트 패턴을 압축하게 되면 테스트 패턴의 소모하는 전력량이 커지게 되어 저전력 테스트를 수행하는데 어려움이 있어 두 가지 문제를 해결할 수 없었다 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점들을 동시에 해결하기 위해서 Run-length code를 기반으로 하여 저전력 테스트가 가능하면서 테스트 패턴의 크기도 줄일 수 있는 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 본 논문에서는 기존에 제시되었던 알고리즘과 비교ㆍ분석하는 실험을 통하여 이 알고리즘의 효율성을 보여주고 있다.

A Modified Particle Swarm Optimization for Optimal Power Flow

  • The optimal power flow (OPF) problem was introduced by Carpentier in 1962 as a network constrained economic dispatch problem. Since then, it has been intensively studied and widely used in power system operation and planning. In the past few decades, many stochastic optimization methods such as Genetic Algorithm (GA), Evolutionary Programming (EP), and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) have been applied to solve the OPF problem. In particular, PSO is a newly proposed population based stochastic optimization algorithm. The main idea behind it is based on the food-searching behavior of birds and fish. Compared with other stochastic optimization methods, PSO has comparable or even superior search performance for some hard optimization problems in real power systems. Nowadays, some modifications such as breeding and selection operators are considered to make the PSO superior and robust. In this paper, we propose the Modified PSO (MPSO), in which the mutation operator of GA is incorporated into the conventional PSO to improve the search performance. To verify the optimal solution searching ability, the proposed approach has been evaluated on an IEEE 3D-bus test system. The results showed that performance of the proposed approach is better than that of the standard PSO.
