The Effect of Social Support by College Students on Subjective Happiness and Perceived Stress (대학생의 사회적 지지가 주관적 행복감과 지각된 스트레스에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigated the effect of college students' Social Support on Subjective Happiness and Perceived Stress. 257 college students were analyzed using a questionnaire. Data analysis was statistically processed using SPSS 21.0, and simple regression analysis, multiple regression analysis, and Pearson's momentum correlation coefficient were obtained. The results of the study are as follows. It was confirmed that the higher the Social Support, the higher the Subjective Happiness. It was found that Family Support and friend support had a significant effect on Subjective Happiness, and Friend Support had a greater impact. As Social Support increases, Perceived Stress decreases, and both Family and Friend Support have a significant effect and Friend Support has a more impact

Factors Influencing the Happiness according to the Gender of the Elderly Living Alone: Using Data from 2015 Community Health Survey (남성독거노인과 여성독거노인의 행복감 영향요인: 2015 지역사회 건강조사 자료 활용)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the factors influencing the happiness according to gender of the elderly living alone. Methods: This cross-sectional study used the raw data from the 2015 Community Health Survey. The subjects of this study were 14,705 elderly people aged 65 years or older, of which 2,198 were male elderly and 12,507 were female elderly. Results: The factors influencing the happiness of both male and female elderly were household income, depression, subjective stress level, subjective health level, quality of life, and lack of required medical service experience (p<.05). In addition, the male elderly were affected by the age, and the female elderly were affected by education, sleep time, walking and breakfast practice, and health screening (p<.05). Conclusions: It is necessary to develop and apply programs that can reduce the stress to increase the happiness of the elderly living alone, and efforts should be made not to cause a blind spot in terms of the health and welfare of the elderly living alone.

Differences between high school students' hope, grit, and school happiness by cluster type (일반고 학생 희망과 그릿의 군집유형별 학교행복의 차이)

  • The purpose of the study is to find out the difference between high school students' hopes and the school happiness of each cluster of grits. Method: 282 high students' responses were analyzed through correlation analysis and cluster analysis. Results: First, There is a positive correlation between hope and grit and school happiness. Second, Hope and Grit appeared in four clusters. School happiness had the highest "high psychological capital" group and the lowest "low psychological capital. Conclusion: It was discussed that the agency thinking and effort perseverance of grit should be reflected in the curriculum of general high schools. In addition, we propose to develop questionnaires for practical measurements.

The Effects of a Cognitive Behavioral Gratitude Program on Gratitude Disposition and Happiness for Elementary School Students (인지행동적 감사프로그램이 초등학생의 감사성향과 행복감에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to review of the psychology experiment researches in gratitude and the definition of gratitude, the effects of gratitude on happiness and mental health was examined. And examine the effectiveness of the cognitive behavioral gratitude program on gratitude disposition and happiness for elementary school students. The subject group consists of 2 classes from the 5th grade at G elementary school in Daejeon. For the experimental group, total 10 sessions of a cognitive behavioral gratitude program were applied once a week for 10 weeks, while there's no special treatment to the control group, The result were as follows. Cognitive behavioral gratitude program is shown to very effective in improving on gratitude disposition and happiness for elementary school students.

The Analysis on the Mediating Effects of Social Support on the Relation between Positive Psychological Capital and Happiness of Childcare Teachers in Charge of Young Children with Disabilities (장애영아담당 보육교사의 긍정심리자본과 행복감 관계에서 원장과 동료교사의 사회적 지지 매개효과 분석)

  • This is an empirical study aiming to analyze the relations between positive psychological capital, social support from the school director and fellow teachers, and happiness of childcare teachers in charge of young children with disabilities. In addition, we analyze the mediating effects of social support from the school director and fellow teachers on the relation between positive psychological capital and happiness. To achieve these aims, a survey was conducted targeting 205 childcare teachers in Gyeonggi province. Results of this study are as follows: First, there were significantly positive correlations between positive psychological capital, social support, and happiness. Furthermore, positive psychological capital and social support from the school director and fellow teachers had positive effects on the happiness of childcare teachers. Second, the social support from the school director and fellow teachers had partially mediating effects on the relation between positive psychological capital and happiness. This implies that positive psychological capital and social support from the school director and fellow teachers play essential roles in the enhancement of happiness of childcare teachers.

The Effect Nursing Organizational Culture and Happiness Index on Turnover Intention among Nurses (간호사가 지각한 간호조직문화와 행복지수가 이직의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effect nursing organizational culture and happiness index on turnover intention among nurses. The subjects of this study were 377 nurses who were working at 3 general hospitals in B city. The data were collected by structured questionnaire from July 1 to August 28 of 2013. The data collected were analyzed with SPSS Win 20.0 using descriptive methods, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient and Stepwise multiple regression. Turnover intention were significant negative correlation for affiliative oriented organizational culture(r=-.137, p=.008), happiness index(r=-.290, p<.001). There were significant positive correlation for innovative oriented organizational culture(r=.123, p=.017), rank oriented organizational culture(r=.126, p=.015), task oriented organizational culture(r=.218, p<.001). Factors affecting for turnover intention were happiness index(${\beta}$=-.297, p<.001), rank oriented organizational culture(${\beta}$=.266, p<.001), nursing experience(${\beta}$=.199, p=.009), affiliative oriented organizational culture(${\beta}$=-.142, p=.034). The explained variances for were turnover intention among nurses 17.2%. Based on the study consider to development and education program of happiness index and affiliative oriented organizational culture for nurses in the hospital setting.

The Relationship between Self-esteem and Happiness of Nursing Students: Mediating Effect of Rejection Sensitivity (간호대학생의 자아존중감과 행복감의 관계: 거부민감성의 매개 효과)

  • This study aimed to verify the mediating effect of rejection sensitivity on the relationship between self-esteem and happiness among nursing students. From May 30 to June 10, 2018, 214 nursing students from a university were selected for convenience, and the results were analyzed using SPSS 22.0. The degree to which the rejection sensitivity of nursing students is mediated by self-esteem and happiness was determined following the guidelines of Baron and Kenny, and the Sobel test was used to verify the statistical significance of the mediated effects. There was a positive correlation between self-esteem and happiness among nursing students(r=.62, p<.001) and a negative correlation between rejection sensitivity and happiness(r=-.33, p<.001). A partially mediated effect (Z=3.769, p<.001) of rejection sensitivity was found on the relationship between self-esteem and happiness of nursing students. Therefore, education and activity programs are needed to increase the happiness of nursing students and help them maintain a satisfactory college life.

The Mediating Effect of Self-esteem between School Violence Victimization and Happiness of Adolescents (초·중·고 학생들의 학교폭력 피해경험이 행복감에 미치는 영향: 자아존중감의 매개효과)

  • This study aimed to investigate the mediating effect of self-esteem between school violence victimization and happiness of adolescents. For this study, 1274 adolescents were surveyed at D city of Korea from April to May in 2016. Main results of this study were as follows. First, it was found out that school violence victimization was significantly different depending on gender, school level, academic achievement. And self-esteem was significantly different depending on gender, school level, family type, income level, academic achievement. Also their happiness was significantly different depending on gender, school level, income level, academic achievement. Second, school violence victimization and self-esteem were negatively correlated. And school violence victimization and their happiness were negatively correlated. Third, self-esteem was partially mediated for elementary, middle school students, but perfectly mediated for high school students between school violence victimization and happiness of adolescents. Lastly, policy implications for the students with lower happiness due to school violence victimization were suggested.

Differences in Walking Practices and Happiness among One-person Households by Life Cycles (생애주기별 1인 가구의 걷기 실천과 행복감 차이)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate difference between walking practice and happiness of one-person households according to the life cycles. This is a secondary analysis study using data from the 2021 Community Health Survey. The data were analyzed using SPSS 25 program for composite sample statistical analysis. As a result, in old age, there were many women, low education, and non-economic activities, and there were many basic living and less than 7 hours of sleep. The walking practice of one-person households was low in youth, middle age, and old age of one-person households. The level of happiness by life cycles of one-person households was 6.69 points in youth, 6.43 points in old age, and 6.19 points in middle age, and the happiness of middle age was the lowest. In youth, middle age, and old age of one-person households, there was a significant differences in happiness depending on walking practice. Therefore, social, welfare, and policy strategies should be developed to encourage walking to improve happiness of one-person households.

Narrative Inquiry into Happiness of Two Elementary Gifted Students (초등영재아동의 '행복 경험'에 대한 내러티브 탐구)

  • The purpose of this narrative inquiry is to explore two gifted elementary students' 'happiness experience'. They narrated that they experienced strong happiness at the moment 'doing something they really like for themselves ', 'trying and achieving in self-directed way', and 'feeling trust, love, and support from their family'. Also happiness was the results of their effort. They made an effort to reduce their negative emotion against happiness by 'controling their feeling doing something their favorite activities' and 'working again and again until they succeed'. The results of the study show that social and emotional support as well as help in the cognitive aspects is important. Especially, parents variable was an essential condition for them to have happiness experiences. More specifically, the study show that overgovernment and excessive intervention from parents should be distinguished from 'good caring' of their child. Practical implication of the study was discussed in depth.
